Reemployment of Retired Teachers. The reemployed teacher will start with salary schedule placement experience of 0 years and education credit of up to a Master’s degree. For each year of subsequent reemployment with the district, such teacher shall be placed on the salary schedule, and shall remain, at 0 years of experience.
Reemployment of Retired Teachers. A teacher retired under XXXX (“reemployed teacher”) may be reemployed under the following conditions which are understood exceed/supersede any/all provisions of ORC.
A. The re-employed teacher will start with salary schedule placement experience of 5 years and education credit of up to a Master’s Degree. The reemployed teacher will be advanced one year on the salary schedule above step 5 for each year of reemployment service in the District.
B. The reemployed teacher will be eligible for Board-paid health/medical insurance only until he/she is eligible for coverage through STRS. She/he will be eligible for life and other insurances offered by the Board which are either not available through STRS or are available only through payment by the reemployed teacher of the full cost of such insurance. Once she/he is eligible for STRS insurance said employee must take STRS coverage at employee cost.
C. The contract of employment will be for one year and is automatically non- renewed at the conclusion of that year without the need for compliance with ORC Sections 339.11 and 3319.111. Reemployed teachers will be evaluated pursuant to Section 9.014(C).
D. The reemployed teacher will not resume and is not eligible for continuing contract status during any period of reemployment with the District.
E. The reemployed retired teacher will not accumulate seniority.
F. Such reemployment will not jeopardize the continuation of existing academic programs nor result in the reduction-in-force of faculty employed at the commencement of each such reemployment contract.
G. Subject to these provisions, reemployed teachers are part of the bargaining unit.
H. Reemployed persons are eligible for sick leave accumulation commencing with the first year of such reemployment.
I. A reemployed teacher shall commence their reemployment with zero days of accumulated sick leave and zero years of service credit for purposes of lay off.
J. Reemployed teachers are not eligible to participate in any retirement incentive program nor are they eligible for severance pay.
Reemployment of Retired Teachers. A. The Board is under no obligation to employ any retired teacher and there is no expectation of reemployment when a teacher retires from the District. Reemployed teachers who previously worked in the District do not need to be interviewed by the Board for any vacant positions for which they apply. Reemployed teachers who previously worked in the District are not guaranteed a particular assignment upon reemployment. Reemployed teachers will be assigned to positions that are within their certification/licensure area(s) and are eligible for transfers pursuant to the negotiated agreement.
B. Reemployed teachers will be placed at year three (3) on the salary schedule upon reemployment and given full credit for their educational level and shall not advance on the salary schedule for any subsequent years of employment. [The reemployed teachers shall advance one year on the salary schedule for each year employed following his/her reemployment.] The Board may require the reemployed teacher to execute a written waiver of his/her prior teaching experience and acknowledge his/her agreement to accept initial placement at year three (3) on the salary schedule.
C. Reemployed teachers have the option of participating in the STRS’s health insurance program or the District’s health insurance program. The reemployed teacher may not participate in both health insurance programs. If the reemployed teacher elects the District’s health insurance program, or if the STRS decides not to provide health insurance for the reemployed teachers who initially selected STRS’s health insurance program, the same monthly payments and other provisions as outlined in Article VII, shall apply. Life Insurance premiums are solely the responsibility of the reemployed teacher. All payments will be made through payroll deduction.
D. Reemployed teachers are not eligible for continuing contracts; rather they will be awarded one (1) year contracts that will automatically expire at the end of each school year without notice of non-renewal and without compliance with O.R.C. Sections 3319.11 and 3319.111. For purposes of reemployed teachers, the parties expressly agree that this provision supersedes and replaces O.R.C. Sections 3319.11 and 3319.111 and differs from the rights of other teachers contained in the negotiated agreement. Performance evaluations of reemployed teachers will be conducted annually.

Reemployment of Retired Teachers. 1. The reemployed teacher shall start with salary schedule placement experience of zero (0) to ten (10) years at the discretion of the superintendent . The reemployed teacher shall not advance on the salary schedule for each year of reemployment service in the district and there shall be no placement or advancement beyond master's degree.
2. Length of contract shall be for one (1) year and shall automatically expire without the district having to give notice to nonrenew.
3. In the event of a reduction in force, the reemployed teacher shall have no seniority and shall not have the ability to accumulate seniority under Article 11 of the contract.
4. Reemployed teachers shall not be eligible to participate in any retirement incentive program nor are they eligible for severance pay.
5. Reemployed teachers shall have the option for the district insurance programs.
6. Reemployed teachers shall commence their employment with zero (0) days accumulated sick leave and shall earn one and one-quarter (1¼) days of sick leave per month. The district may advance a reemployed teacher up to five (5) days sick leave.
7. Reemployed teachers shall be regarded as veteran teachers and placed accordingly within the differentiated evaluation procedure.
8. The district is not obligated to rehire or give a preference to a teacher from the Brookville district or any other school district.
Reemployment of Retired Teachers. A teacher retired under the State Teachers Retirement System ("Previously Retired Teacher" or "PRT") may be employed/reemployed under the following conditions:
A. The Board is under no obligation to employ any retired teacher and there is no expectation of reemployment when a teacher retires from the Northwestern Local School District. PRTs who previously worked in the District do not need to be interviewed by the Board for any vacant positions for which they apply. PRTs who previously worked in the District are not guaranteed a particular assignment upon reemployment. PRTs will be assigned to positions that are within their certification/licensure area(s).
B. A position vacated by a retired teacher will not be posted as provided under Article 11 if that teacher is re-employed under this Article. The teacher will be re-employed in his/her prior position.
C. PRTs will have no rights under the transfer and vacancy provisions of this Contract.
D. For purposes of salary schedule placement, a PRT will be granted at least five (5) years and no more than ten (10) years’ service credit upon initial employment (or reemployment) at the discretion of the Board.
E. Upon employment, PRTs will be given full credit for their educational level.
F. If the PRT is not eligible to participate in the STRS health insurance program, the retired teacher may participate in the District's health insurance program and the Board shall pay for a single health insurance benefit plan. The PRT may purchase the family plan by paying the difference between the single and family premiums. The PRT may also participate in the District's dental and life insurance programs at his/her own expense. All payments will be made through payroll deduction.
G. PRTs will be awarded one (1) year contracts that will automatically expire at the end of the school year without notice of nonrenewal and without compliance with ORC 3319.11
Reemployment of Retired Teachers. The Board may, under appropriate circumstances, find it necessary to fill one or more certificated bargaining unit vacancies with a previously retired applicant (i.e., a person retired from any school district in Ohio). Such applicants will be known as previously retired teachers (PRT). The re-employment of retired teachers will only be done following compliance with the public notice and hearing requirements according to ORC. The following conditions will apply.
A. PRT’s will be bound by all terms of the bargaining unit contract in effect at the time of their employment, except for those specifically excepted by this article.
B. For the purposes of salary placement, a PRT will be credited with all earned training/education and will be granted up to five (5) years’ service credit upon initial employment.
C. The re-employed teacher will be advanced one year on the salary schedule but will not exceed step 10 of the salary schedule effective for all retire/rehires after August 1, 2004.
D. The re-employed teacher will be eligible for Board-paid health/medical insurance only if they are not eligible for coverage through STRS.
E. The contract of employment will be for one year and is automatically non-renewed at the conclusion of that year without the need for compliance with ORC Sections 3319.11 and 3319.111. Re-employed teachers will be evaluated in accordance with Article 5, Section B.
F. The re-employed teacher will not resume and is not eligible for continuing contract status during any period of reemployment with the District.
G. In the event of a reduction in force, the re-employed teacher will not have any bumping rights under Article 30 (Reduction in Force) C. 1 and 2.
H. Such reemployment will not jeopardize the continuation of existing academic programs nor result in the reduction in force of faculty employed at the commencement of each such reemployment contract.
I. Re-employed persons are eligible for sick leave accumulation commencing with the first year of such reemployment.
J. Re-employed teachers are not eligible to participate in any retirement incentive program nor are they eligible for severance pay.
K. PRT’s have no guarantee of reemployment.
L. PRT’s have no guarantee of reemployment in the same assignment.
M. Transfers of current employees should be done before the hiring of retired teachers.
Reemployment of Retired Teachers. A teacher retired under XXXX (“Reemployed teacher”) may be employed/reemployed under the following conditions:
A. The Board is under no obligation to employ any retired teacher and there is no expectation of reemployment when a teacher retires from the Fort Loramie Schools District. Reemployed teachers who previously worked in the District do not need to be interviewed by the Board for any vacant positions for which they apply. Reemployed teachers who previously worked in the District are not guaranteed a particular assignment upon reemployment. Reemployed teachers will be assigned to positions that are within their certification/license area(s) and are eligible for transfers pursuant to the negotiated agreement.
B. Reemployed retired teachers will be placed at the five (5) year experience level on the salary schedule upon reemployment and given full credit for their educational level.
C. Reemployed retired teachers shall be entitled to participate in the health insurance program provided to the bargaining unit members under Article VIII, Section 2 of the negotiated agreement unless insurance is available through STRS. The Board’s contribution to retired teacher health insurance premiums in the event insurance is not available through STRS, will be limited to the Board’s share of single plan coverage. The retired teacher may purchase family coverage through their additional contribution. Retired/rehired employees as of September 1, 2008 will not be impacted by these new insurance provisions.
D. Reemployed retired teachers are not eligible for continuing contracts; rather, they will be awarded one-year contracts that will automatically expire at the end of each school year without notice of non-renewal and without compliance with O.R.C. Sections 3319.11 and 3319.111. For purposes of reemployed teachers, the parties expressly agree that this provision supersedes and replaces O.R.C. Sections 3319.11 and 3319.111 and differs from the rights of other teachers contained in the negotiated agreement. Performance evaluations of reemployed teachers will be conducted annually. Such evaluations may be formal or informal assessments at the discretion of the building principal.
E. Reemployed retired teachers may not accrue additional STRS credit as a result of their service following reemployment. Instead, the Board and the reemployed teacher shall make contributions to STRS that will fund a single life annuity with a reserve based on the reemployed teacher’s accumulate...
Reemployment of Retired Teachers. Any bargaining unit member who retires under XXXX and subsequently is reemployed in the district may be hired at a rate of pay different from his or her academic training level and years of service as specified in the salary index contained in this agreement. This provision and such salary and individual contract with a member expressly supersedes RC Section 3317.13 and all other applicable laws. Such retired member is not eligible to receive a severance payment upon leaving employment with the district. This provision of the agreement and such salary and contact will not be grievable under the grievance procedures of this agreement nor through any claim or action filed before the State Employment Relations Board (SERB) or any court of law. Retired teachers who become employed within the District are eligible for health insurance at a 50 percentage rate plus additional percentage as negotiated in insurance language. Retire/rehire teacher contracts shall be for the term of one year and shall automatically expire at the end of one year without the Board having to comply with R.C. 3319.11 or R.C. 3319.111. Retire/rehire teachers shall not accrue or retain seniority.
Reemployment of Retired Teachers.
17.1 A teacher retired under XXXX (“re-employed teacher”) may be employed subject to the following conditions:
17.2 Subject to these provisions, the re-employed teacher is a member of the bargaining unit and subject to the provisions of the BEA-Board Agreement.
17.3 A re-employed teacher shall receive a maximum of five (5) years experience credit and the individual’s educational attainment for salary schedule, placement purposes. If the teacher is re-employed the following school year, he/she will advance one year on the salary index for each year of employment under section 17.03.
17.4 A re-employed teacher shall commence employment with zero years of seniority credit for purposes of layoff and zero days of accumulated sick leave.
17.5 A re-employed teacher shall serve under a one-year limited contract which will be automatically non-renewed at the conclusion of that year without the need for completion of the evaluation process. The Board and BEA intend that this provision expressly supersedes any rights the re-employed teacher might otherwise enjoy under ORC §§3319.11 and 3319.111.
17.6 A re-employed teacher shall not be subject to the entry year/mentoring program.
17.7 Effective January 1, 2009, a re-employed teacher will be eligible for health insurance on the same basis and terms as other members of the bargaining unit as set forth in section 14.3 through 14.92.
Reemployment of Retired Teachers. 1. Previously Retired Teachers (PRTs) shall be awarded one-year contracts of employment that shall automatically expire at the end of each school year without requirement for any performance evaluation and without any notice of non- renewal.
2. PRTs may be re-employed from year to year, with Board approval, but shall not be eligible for continuing contract status. If rehired for the following year, the teacher shall move to the next longevity step on the salary schedule column.
3. PRTs shall not be eligible to participate in the contractual retirement incentive program, if any, or for severance pay upon separation from employment.
4. Prior employment in the District is no guarantee of post-retirement employment or a particular assignment, if hired.
5. A teacher retired under XXXX (reemployed teacher) may be reemployed under the following conditions: The reemployed teacher will start with salary schedule placement not to exceed ten (10) years and education credit of up to a Master’s Degree plus 30. The reemployed teacher will be advanced one (1) year on the salary schedule for each year of reemployment service in the District. Designation of health care coverage for reemployed teachers will be governed by the STRS rules in effect at the time of the reemployment and is subject to change if the STRS rules change during the period of reemployment. Reemployed teachers may commence their reemployment with up to fifteen (15) days of accumulated sick leave if said days are carried forward from their prior employer. Subject to these provisions, reemployed teachers are part of the bargaining unit.
