Paid Personal/Carer’s Leave. 6.2.1 Full time Employees are entitled to accrue 76 hours (10 days) of paid personal/carer’s leave each year in accordance with the Standard. Part time Employees are entitled to a pro rata paid personal/carer’s leave entitlement. Casual employees have no entitlement to paid personal/carer’s leave. 6.2.2 Paid personal/carer’s leave is available to full time and part time Employees when the Employee is absent due to: (a) personal illness or injury (‘sick leave’); or (b) providing care or support to an immediate family or household member who is ill or injured, or in the case of an unexpected emergency in relation to that person (‘carer’s leave’). 6.2.3 Paid personal/xxxxx’s leave is accrued and credited upon the completion of each four week period of service. 6.2.4 A full time Employee is entitled to take up to a maximum of 76 hours (10 days) of paid carer’s leave each year at their ordinary rate of pay. Part time Employees are entitled to a pro rata amount of carer’s leave in accordance with the Standard at their ordinary rate of pay. 6.2.5 Before taking personal/xxxxx’s leave, an Employee, where practicable, must give at least 2 hours notice before their next rostered starting time. If it is not practicable for the Employee to give prior notice of their absence, the Employee must notify the Employer by telephone at the first opportunity. Text messages or emails will not be accepted as sufficient notice. 6.2.6 The Employee, when giving notice of taking personal/carer’s leave, is required to advise the Employer: (a) of the nature of the illness (if known) or injury; and (b) the name of the person requiring care or support and their relationship to the Employee; and (c) the length of time that the Employee expects to be absent from work. 6.2.7 The Employer may request that an Employee produce a medical certificate or statutory declaration to establish that the Employee was unable to work because of the need to take personal/carer’s leave. 6.2.8 If an Employee is receiving workers’ compensation payments, the Employee is not entitled to personal leave. 6.2.9 Subject to the agreement of the Employer, Employees may elect to forgo an amount of the personal/carer’s leave which they have accrued during the preceding year of service, and receive payment instead of having the entitlement to take that leave, provided that the following conditions are met: (a) Any cashing out of personal/carer’s leave will occur in December each year, or as otherwise permitted by the Em...

Paid Personal/Carer’s Leave. (a) The Executive is entitled to: (i) accrue an amount of paid personal/carer's leave, for each completed four-week period of continuous service with the Company, of 1/13 of 20 days of paid personal leave; and (ii) take an amount of paid personal/carer's leave if the amount of leave is accrued. (b) Paid personal leave accrues on a pro-rata basis and is cumulative. (c) In relation to the accrual in clause 7.2 (a) (i), the Executive will accrue this leave at the rate of 20 days paid personal/carer's leave per annum. (e) If at the time the Employment ends the Executive has untaken accrued paid personal leave, the Executive is not entitled to any payment in respect of that untaken leave.
Paid Personal/Carer’s Leave. An employee, other than a casual employee, who is unable to attend for work because of personal illness or injury; or because of the need to provide care or support to a member of the employee’s immediate family or member of the employee’s household who requires care or support due to illness, injury or unexpected emergency; shall be entitled to paid Personal/Xxxxx’s Leave as follows: (i) Not more than 80 hours (equivalent to 10 days) of ordinary working time for each year of continuous service, or the amount of paid personal/carer’s leave guaranteed under the Australian Fair Pay and Conditions Standard, whichever is the higher. Part-time employees are entitled to a pro rata amount of paid personal/carer’s leave in accordance with the Australian Fair Pay and Conditions Standard. (ii) Each employee will be entitled to accumulate untaken personal/carer’s leave. (iii) The granting of paid personal/carer’s leave shall be subject to the following conditions and limitations: (a) An employee will inform his/her immediate Supervisor as soon as reasonably practicable of an inability to attend for work for a specified period due to a personal illness or injury, or alternatively, due to the need to provide care or support to a member of the employee’s immediate family or member of the employee’s household who requires care or support due to illness, injury or unexpected emergency. (b) Each employee unable to attend for work for: (i) more than two single day absences in any one entitlement year; (ii) for two or more consecutive days; or (iii) for any absence on the day before or after a Public Holiday, shall provide a Medical Certificate from a registered health practitioner in order to justify payment of personal/carer’s leave for such period of absence. (c) A personal/xxxxx’s leave form must be completed, signed and handed in by the employee immediately after they return from taking the personal/xxxxx’s leave.

Casual Employees have no entitlement to paid personal / carer’s leave. 7.2.3 An Employee’s entitlement to paid personal / carer’s leave accrues progressively during a year of service according to the Employee’s ordinary hours of work, and accumulates from year to year. 7.2.4 Paid personal / carer’s leave is available to full-time and part-time Employees when the Employee is absent due to: (a) personal illness or injury (personal leave); (b) providing care or support to an immediate family or household member who is ill or injured, or in the case of an unexpected emergency in relation to that person (xxxxx’s leave). 7.2.5 Payment for personal / carer’s leave will be made based on the number of hours which would have been worked if the Employee were not absent on personal / carer’s leave. Personal / xxxxx’s leave may be taken for part of a day. Proof of illness or injury is to be furnished by the Employee to the satisfaction of the Company. 7.2.6 Satisfactory evidence furnished by the Employee under this provision will, in the case of illness or injury, be a medical certificate from a duly qualified medical practitioner for any absences in excess of 4 days in any calendar year. These 4 days can be either 4 single day absences or two 2 day absence. All absences beyond the 4 days must be accompanied by a medical certificate. The above will not apply for an Employee who is subject to proceedings under the Absenteeism Disciplinary Policy, in which case a medical certificate must be produced for every absence. 7.2.7 Satisfactory evidence furnished by the Employee under this provision will be a Medical Certificate from a duly qualified medical practitioner for any absences immediately preceding or succeeding the following instances: ▪ shorter work days; ▪ weekends; ▪ pre-planned leave; ▪ public holidays; ▪ any days substituted for such holidays; or ▪ days in lieu. 7.2.8 The Employee will not be eligible for payment of personal / carer’s leave unless, where they are in a position to do so, they take all reasonable steps to advise the Company of their absence from duty no later than one hour after normal commencement time. Paid Personal/Carer’s Leave. Full-time and part-time employees shall be entitled to paid Family leave in order to attend to unforeseen family or personal matters, subject to the production of satisfactory evidence. The employee seeking to take Family Leave must be responsible for the care of the family member concerned and the family member must be a member of the employee's household. Family leave will be a maximum of 22.8 hours for full-time employees and pro-rata for part-time employees and shall be credited on the employee’s weekly employment anniversary date. Such leave shall be non- cumulative. Provided that in any year where the above paid family leave is exhausted an employee may elect to utilise: - paid time off accrued in lieu of overtime - outstanding annual leave entitlements - make-up time of any lost ordinary hours - accrued paid sick leave. Paid Personal/Carer’s Leave. (a) A permanent employee who is unable to attend or remain at work as rostered, by reason of personal ill health or injury or by reason of caring for or supporting a member of his/her immediate family or household shall be entitled to paid personal/carer’s leave for such period of absence, at their ordinary time rate of pay for the hours which the employee was rostered to work. (b) Entitlement to personal/carers leave for a full time employee shall accrue at the rate of 5.846 hours for each completed four week period of service (76 hours for each completed year of service). A part time employee shall be entitled to personal/carers leave on a pro-rata basis in the same proportion as their base weekly hours bears to 38. (c) An employee’s entitlement to unused personal/carers leave shall be cumulative from year to year. (d) During the first twelve months of employment an employee may request and be granted, on a pro-rata basis in the same proportion as the ordinarily rostered hours worked each week bears to 38, paid personal/carers leave to which they have not yet become entitled. (e) An employee will not be entitled to paid personal/carer’s leave for any period of absence due to personal illness or injury, in respect of which they are entitled to claim Workers Compensation. (f) Except as provided by Clause 14.1.6, the provisions of this Clause do not apply to casual employees.
