Personal and Compassionate Leave. The Company may allow an employee a leave of absence without pay, for compassionate or personal reasons, not limited to traveling abroad to country of origin. Such leave will require prior written approval by the Company and an employee request must be submitted in writing as far in advance as possible.
Personal and Compassionate Leave. The provisions of this clause apply to full-time and part-time Employees but do not apply to Casual Employees, unless otherwise stated (refer compassionate and unpaid carer’s leave).
Personal and Compassionate Leave. 10.1 Paid personal leave is available to an Employee when they are absent: • due to personal illness or injury (sick leave); or • for the purposes of caring for an immediate family or household member who is sick and requires an Employee's care and support (carer's leave); or • for an unexpected emergency affecting the member; or • because of the serious illness, injury or death of an immediate family or household member (bereavement leave).
10.2 The amount of personal leave to which an Employee is entitled depends on how long they have worked for the Employer and shall accrue progressively throughout the year based on days worked. Personal leave shall accrue at the rate of 76 hours per annum (full time equivalent).
10.3 An Employee is entitled to use up to an additional two days personal leave as paid compassionate leave on any occasion on which a member of an Employee’s immediate family or household:
10.3.1 contracts or develops a personal illness that poses a serious threat to his or her life; or
10.3.2 sustains a personal injury that poses a serious threat to his or her life; or

Personal and Compassionate Leave. 34.1. Accrued Personal/Xxxxx’s leave is not paid out on termination.
34.2. Any Employee absent from work due to personal illness or injury will be required on their return to work to complete a Company Personal Leave form.
34.3. Any Employee absent from work to provide care or support for a member of the Employee’s immediate family of their household, who is sick, injured or has an emergency will be required to complete a Company Personal Leave form on their return to work.
34.4. Employee's immediate family is defined as the Employees; spouse, de facto partner, child, parent, grandparent, grandchild, sibling, or a child's parent, grandparent, grandchild, sibling of the Employees spouse of de facto partner.
34.5. The Company is entitled to require Employees to produce medical certificates or statutory declarations in respect of sick leave, carer’s leave or compassionate leave. However, statutory declarations will be acceptable for periods of less than two (2) days leave and only for two (2) occasions per year.
34.6. All permanent Employees shall be entitled to a maximum of two (2) days leave without loss of pay on each occasion and on production of satisfactory proof of death or an injury or illness that threatens the life of the Employees spouse, de facto partner, parent, sibling, child, grandparent or grandchild, or a child's parent, grandparent, grandchild, sibling of the Employees spouse of de facto partner or a member of the Employee’s household.
34.7. Employees (other than casual Employees) are entitled to 10 days paid personal leave annually (pro rata for part time Employees) when:
34.7.1. The Employee suffers from an illness or injury (sick leave), or
34.7.2. The Employee cares for an immediate family or household member who is ill or has been involved in an emergency.
34.8. If an Employee has exhausted their paid personal/sick leave the Employee is entitled to two days unpaid carer’s leave per occasion that an immediate family or household member is ill or has been involved in an emergency.
34.9. Any personal leave accrued prior to signing this agreement will be carried over.

Any yearly accumulation not paid out cannot be cashed out in subsequent years but is cumulative from year to year.

15.8 The employee agrees to notify the company as soon as practicable on or prior to the first day of any personal or compassionate leave and wherever possible prior to the expected start time.
15.9 Accumulated personal leave will not be paid out on termination of employment.

32.2. InvoCare may request a Medical Certificate for any absence claimed under personal leave of two (2 ) consecutive days or more or for leave taken before or after a team member’s day off.

18.7 The employee is required to produce a medical certificate or statutory declaration in the following circumstances, in order to access paid personal leave.
a) when unable to attend work due to illness on the day prior to and after a public holiday.
b) when enable to attend work due to illness on the first or fifth day of their rostered weekly shift c) when two or more consecutive days are taken. Failure to produce a certificate on these occasions as described the employee will not be paid for the public holiday 18.7(a) or the days outlined in 18.7(b) (c). The employer is entitled to require the employee to produce a medical certificate or statutory declaration as soon as reasonably practicable, in order to access paid, carer's or compassionate leave.
18.8 The employee agrees to notify the company as soon as practicable on or prior to the first day of any personal or compassionate leave and wherever possible prior to the expected start time.
18.9 Personal leave will be paid out on termination of employment, up to a maximum of 160 hours.
