Reporting Pay and Minimum Pay. Any employee who is scheduled to report for work on their regular schedule, and who presents himself for work as scheduled, but where work is not available, or made available for them, shall be excused from duty and paid at the employee's regular rate for four (4) hours. The guarantee of four (4) hours pay to an employee shall be inapplicable if an employee fails to report at the scheduled starting time or otherwise is unable to perform their normal duties for the full shift.

12.2.1 Employees who agree to return to work after their regular shift for the purpose of pre-arranged training, meetings, animal care assignments or medical certification will receive pay at the overtime rate for the actual time at work and for not less than one hour.
12.3 Any regular employee required to work a split shift shall be paid at the rate of time and one-half for not less than eight hours of such shift (exclusive of any overtime worked in addition thereto). Time worked on the employee's sixth or seventh day shall not be covered by this paragraph.
12.4 Upon determination by the Zoo Director or Parks and Nature Director, or the Zoo or Parks and Nature Director's designee, of inclement weather conditions and such determination results in the decision to close the Oregon Zoo or the Parks and to send the staff home before the end of their normal shift, those employees required by Management to stay on the job shall receive one hour travel pay. When the relevant director or designee has determined that inclement weather conditions exist and the worksite has been closed, employees required to work will receive pay at the overtime rate on all hours worked with a minimum of four (4) hours paid at the overtime rate.

Section 14.2 Employees required to report for work not continuous with their regular assigned shift hours, or on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, shall receive not less than two (2) hours pay at the specified overtime rate.
Section 14.3 Employees required to report for work and not used shall receive four (4) hours straight time pay.
Section 14.4 The foregoing rules (14.1, 14.2 and 14.3) shall not apply where an employee is not put to work because of bad weather or breakdown of machinery, except that this shall not be construed to cover failure to have work or vessel available.
Section 14.5 Employees who voluntarily quit, are laid off, or are discharged for cause shall be paid only for actual hours worked.
Section 14.6 Employees not at work on the day a shutdown or layoff occurs shall be considered to have received the notification of such shutdown or layoff that they would have received if they had been working.
Section 14.7 In the event the xxxxxxx requests the employee who has reported for work at his/her regular starting time and in unworkable weather to remain on the premises with the expectancy of starting work later if the weather clears, such employee shall be paid for such waiting time, which in no case shall be less than four (4) hours pay at his/her regular rate of pay.

10.4 Before the City requires bargaining unit employees to "stand by" during their off duty hours, the City and the Union representative will meet and determine the appropriate compensation.
10.5 Any employee who is authorized to use their personal automobile in the course of their employment will be paid mileage reimbursement at the applicable IRS rate.
10.6 Where the employee cannot arrange alternative schedules with the Bureau of Human Resources, the employee will be allowed to take City of Portland Civil Service examinations without loss of regular pay for the duration of the time spent in the examination.
