Section Sick Leave. All employees of the company who have completed one (I) year of service on or after the signing date of this Agreement shall be entitled to sick pay equal to five (5) days per year. employees are entitled to one (I) sick day at a time up to and including a maximum of five (5) days. No doctor's note will be required. Unused accumulated sick leave shall be compensated for at the rate of eight (8) hours per unused day and shall be calculated annually from December 1st to November 30th and paid not later than December 15th in each year. The Company will contribute two hundred and eighty five ($285.00) per month for each employee with seniority to an individual beginning January This amount will be increased to three hundred and ninety-five ($395.00) per month beginning January I, to five hundred and five dollars ($505.00) per month beginning January and to five hundred and thirty dollars ($530.00) per month beginning January Such contributions, for all present employees on the seniority list at the signing of this agreement, shall continue for a period of fifteen (15) months while on layoff. Notwithstanding this provision, it is agreed that all new employees acquired by way of hiring, acquisition or merge after the signing date of this agreement must actively work one day in the month in order to receive this benefit. Employees will be providedwith full updated details of such plan.
Section Sick Leave. All employees shall be granted eighteen (18) days' sick leave with pay for each year of continuous service on the basis of one and one-half (I days per month on completion of three (3) months' service. retroactive to the employee's first completed calendar month of service. All unused sick leave to accumulate to a maximum of one hundred and twenty (1 20) days. An employee who no sick leave during any one or more of the following periods: January 1st February 28th or March 1st to April May 1st to July August 1st October November to December shall receive one (1) day's pay at the employee's regular rate of pay at the end of each period or as soon thereafter as possible. Any payout of the sick time under section will be deducted from the employee's accumulated sick leave total. Effective August the above time periods shall no longer apply and shall be replaced with the following time periods: January 1st to April May 1st to August September 1st to December the employee chooses to receive the payout as paid time off work, the time off shall be at a mutually agreeable time. Employees may be required to a statutory declaration certifying as to illness or attested by a Notary Public or a doctor's certificate to obtain sick pay. Employees who are on Workers' Compensation may receive full pay while on compensa- tion, provided there is sufficient sick leave to the employee's credit. Those employees who receive full pay while on Workers' Compensation shall have the difference between the amount of compensation and their full pay deducted from the employee's sick leave credit. The City shall receive the employee's time loss compensation from the Workers' Compen- sation Board. Effective July the first paragraph of Section no longer apply. Instead, the following provisions shall replace the first paragraph of Section he Where an employee suffers from a disease or illness or incurs personal (which disease, illness or injury is hereinafter called the "disability") and entitled to cornpensation therefor under the Workers' Compensation Act, he shall not be entitled to use his sick leave credits for time lost by reason of any such disability. All monies received by an employee by way of compensation for loss of wages under the said Act shall be paid to the City in return for which the City shall pay the employee his normal net take-home pay (as opposed to his regular gross pay). Section Sick Leave. Definition of Sick Leave Sick leave means the period of time an employee is absent From work with pay by virtue of being sick or disabled because of an accident for which compensation not payable under the Workers' Compensation Act.

Section Sick Leave. On January all pilots actively employed with Air Nova, Air Ontario and shall be entitled to one hundred and sixty eight (168) sick credits. A pilot who is not actively employed but returns to service during the calendar year shall receive a prorated sick bank entitlement. The unused portion of a pilot’s sick bank shall be cumulative to a total of one hundred and sixty eight (168) credits.
Section Sick Leave. The following sick leave provisions may be varied by mutual between the Union and the Employer in the event further premium reductions for eligible sick leave plans are attainable under the Unemployment Insurance Act. the basis of one and one-half one hundred fifty-six of three (3) months probationary period, employees shall sick leave benefits paid to their starting date, to the extent of the accumulated sick leave credits earned up to the date of return illness. Sick leave with pay is only payable because of sickness, and employees who are absent from duty because of sickness may be required to prove sickness. Failure to meet this requirement can be cause for disciplinary action. Repeated failure to meet this requirement can lead to dismissal. Employees must notify the Employer as promptly as possible of any absence from duty because of sickness, and employees must notify the Employer prior to their return. Sick leave pay shall be paid for the one (1) day or less not covered by the Workers’ Compensation Act. An employee shall be granted injury-on-duty leave with pay if it is by the Provincial Workers’ Compensation Board that he/ she is unable to perform duties and the agrees to pay to the Employer any amount received by for loss in settlement of any claim may have in respect of such compensable injury or accident. When an employee is granted sick leave with ay, and injury-on-duty leave is subsequently approved for the same it shall be considered, for the purpose of the record of sick leave credits, that the employee was not granted sick leave with pay. Employees for Workers’ Compensation coverage shall be contin- ued on the and shall not have their employment terminated during the compensable period.
