Work Day and Year. 8.1 The work year for Category #2 and #3 except the secretary/receptionist position employees shall be no more than 185 days and no less than 180 days. Required non-school work days shall be within one week of the beginning or end of the school year. The secretary/receptionist position may be required to work an additional twenty (20) days in the summer. In the event of a cancelled school day which is not made up by the District, or in the event of unanticipated early release or delayed opening, the employees shall suffer no loss in pay. On scheduled early release days, employees shall suffer not loss in pay from their regular work day. On these early release days, the District will schedule professional development and/or allow employees to perform work related tasks such as billing and other documentation which is necessary for their job assignment.
8.2 No employee or position shall have hours reduced for the purpose of making that employee or position ineligible for benefits.
8.3 The current practice regarding lunch and breaks shall remain in effect. Duties shall be assigned on an equitable and fair basis in terms of number and nature of assignments.
8.4 All employees shall be granted the following holidays, to be taken on the day observed by the District, with pay. 8.5 Supervisors shall meet with the employee not later than May 15th to discuss the employee’s current assignment and anticipated assignment for the upcoming year.
8.6 Para-educators shall be notified no later than June 1st of their specific assignment for the upcoming year on the Intent to Re-Employ Form. (Appendix B) Specific assignment means the grade level, child (for 1:1’s), and case manager. All employees will have their supervisor designated by the employer within their individual contracts upon the issuance of the contracts. The District shall have the right to change the specific assignment after June 1st if necessary to meet the District’s unanticipated or unforeseeable needs and the unanticipated or unforeseeable needs of its students. Work Day and Year. 6.1 Association members are required to work the scheduled number of hours in a work day as defined by individual department work schedules as defined below:
Work Day and Year. Work Day: The work day will be 8.75 hours, 7:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., Monday through Thursday, with the exception of after-school activities as approved by the administrator of each building.
Work Day and Year. 5.01 Administrators shall work at their assigned duties each day for whatever reasonable time may be necessary. Administrators, exercising good judgment in the evaluation of their duties, may adjust their daily work schedules to accommodate pressing duties in connection with the responsibilities of their position.

5.03 All administrators are entitled to a thirty (30) minute duty-free lunch each day.

13-2 Teachers will be given their tentative assignments by July 30th of each school year. Teachers will be notified of changes in their tentative assignments.
13-3 Teachers may use personal leave days in half-day increments. If no substitute is hired, personal leave may be cancelled by the employee.

11.1.1.1 The regular work day for unit members assigned to a satellite location shall be the same as the regular work day of the building of assignment including a 30-minute, duty-free lunch period.
11.1.1.2 A "satellite" operation is defined as any program the Board may establish or discontinue from time to time away from premises owned or operated by Eastland-Fairfield Career & Technical Schools that involves the delivery of educational services by unit members.
11.1.1.3 Part-time certificated/licensed instructors who are employed by the Board under a regular teaching contract and are salaried, work a calendar, and are not considered “tutors” may be assigned a modified/prorated duty-free lunch based upon the length of the instructor’s workday.
11.1.2 In addition, unit members are expected to attend parent-teacher conferences, open houses, unit member meetings, and advisory committee meetings, and perform other reasonable duties outside of the regular instructional day which are an integral part of the unit member's assigned professional duties.
11.1.3 Scheduled parent-teacher conference days, arranged by the administration, may start at a time different from the regular starting time for unit members. The administration reserves the right to modify the regular starting and ending times provided such scheduled time shall not exceed 7-1/2 continuous hours.
11.1.3.1 Unit members assigned to a satellite location shall follow the parent- teacher conference schedule as developed by the building of assignment.
11.1.4 Each unit member shall receive an average of one planning period per day that shall be used exclusively for instructional planning, conferences with parents, and other similar job-related duties. The administration shall have the right to determine the length of the instructional day within the average 450-minute work day and the number of periods to be taught.
11.1.4.1 Part-time certificated/licensed instructors who are employed by the Board under a regular teaching contract and are salaried, work a calendar, and are not considered “tutors” may be assigned a modified/prorated planning period based upon the length of the instructor’s workday.

Work Day and Year. The ChiefTechnology Officer's work week and year will follow the School Department's calendar as noted in his contract. On average, the Chief Technology Officer shall spend eighty-two and half percent (82.5%) of his time working directly for the School Department and seventeen and half percent (17.5%) of his time working directly for other Town departments, unless otherwise agreed to by the Superintendent of Schools and the Town Administrator.
