Part-time Nurses a. If a regular part-time nurse works on one of the holidays set forth in paragraph A above, he/she will be paid for all time worked on said holiday at two (2) times his/her regular straight-time hourly rate of pay.
b. Regular part-time nurses who are regularly scheduled for at least 40 hours in a pay period shall receive pro rata holiday pay (including for floating holidays) if not scheduled to work, on the basis of one-tenth (1/10th) of an hour of holiday pay for each regularly scheduled hour of work, not to exceed eight (8) hours of holiday pay.
Part-time Nurses. Part-time Regular Nurses shall be paid in accordance with the salary schedules in Appendix “A” on an all hours worked basis. Such Regular Nurses may work a portion of their actual commitment in more than one unit with the written approval of the Patient Care Managers of the units involved. In such cases the Personnel Action Form will reflect the total actual commitment worked.
Part-time Nurses. Nurses who are regularly scheduled to work less than forty (40) hours within a seven (7) day period or less than eighty (80) hours within a fourteen (14) day period. Part-time nurses who feel that they are not properly classified or are not receiving appropriate benefits shall have the right to require a review of their status and, if not satisfied, may submit the dispute to the grievance procedure. Nurses may not unilaterally reduce or increase their FTE.
Part-time Nurses. The Parties agree that each fifteen hundred (1500) hours either worked, or spent on a leave of absence during which seniority is agreed to accumulate, shall be equivalent to one year full time service. Seniority shall be calculated back to the Nurses' date of last hire.
(a) Separate seniority lists shall be established for all Part-time and Full-time Nurses covered by this Agreement who have completed their probationary period. A copy of these lists will be filed with the Bargaining Unit President, or their designate, every six (6) months in the last pay periods of April and October. A copy of the seniority list shall also be posted at the same time and a copy sent to the appropriate Labour Relations Officer. Seniority on such lists will be expressed in terms of total hours worked for Part-time Nurses and date of last hire for Full-time Nurses.
(b) Seniority, as posted on the part-time and full-time seniority lists, will be deemed to be final and binding and not subject to complaint unless such complaint is made within sixty (60) calendar days from current date of posting. After the sixty (60) day period has passed, any actions taken by the Employer in reliance upon the seniority list may not be the subject of a grievance. However, corrections to the list may be made at any time.
(a) Nurses employed by this Employer transferring from other bargaining units into this bargaining unit shall be credited with full service for the purposes of vacation entitlement and percentage in lieu of benefits. For all other purposes except probation, they shall be treated as newly hired.
(b) The Employer shall, before offering temporary vacancies to non-bargaining unit members, offer such temporary vacancies to members of this bargaining unit. In the absence of any willing applicant, the Employer may hire a Nurse from outside the bargaining unit. A Part-time Nurse who fills a temporary full-time vacancy remain classified as a Part-time Employee for all purposes related to the collective agreement.
Part-time Nurses. If a part-time nurse works 1,600 hours with no more than 60 2 consecutive days off within the nurse’s calendar year, then that nurse is eligible for 3 tenure increments. 5 A part-time nurse will move through the steps on the salary scale on the nurse's 6 appropriate anniversary date of employment if the nurse has worked at least 1,600 7 hours per anniversary year since the prior step advancement. A nurse who has worked 8 less than 1,600 hours per anniversary year since prior step advancement as of the 9 nurse's anniversary eligibility date will move to the next step at the first of the payroll 10 period following the pay period in which the nurse's total hours worked in that step are 11 the equivalent of at least 1,600 hours. Computation of 1,600 hours in the following years 12 shall commence upon completion of the prior 1,600-hour requirement.
Part-time Nurses. The hourly salary rates, inclusive of the percentage in lieu of fringe benefits in effect during the term of this Agreement for all regular and casual part-time nurses shall be those calculated in accordance with the following formula: Applicable straight time hourly rate + 13%. The hourly salary rates payable to a regular or casual part-time nurse include compensation in lieu of all fringe benefits which are paid to full-time nurses except those specifically provided to part-time nurses in this Agreement. It is understood and agreed that holiday pay is included within the percentage in lieu of fringe benefits. It is further understood and agreed that pension is included within the percentage in lieu of fringe benefits. Notwithstanding the foregoing, all part-time nurses who must participate in O.M.E.R.S. as a result of O.M.E.R.S. regulations, the percentage in lieu of fringe benefits is nine percent (9%). It is understood and agreed that the part-time nurse's hourly rate (or straight time hourly rate) in this Agreement does not include the additional 9% or 13%, as applicable, which is paid in lieu of fringe benefits and accordingly the 9% or 13%, as applicable, add on payment in lieu of fringe benefits will not be included for the purpose of computing any premium or overtime payments. Part-time Nurses. Subject to Article 13.07 (Seniority), seniority for a Nurse who is not a probationary Nurse shall be defined as length of service expressed in years converted from the number of hours worked with the Region since last date of hire as a part-time Nurse. If retained after the probationary period, a Nurse’s seniority shall be measured from the date of last hire as a part-time Nurse.
Part-time Nurses. The following provisions shall be applicable to part-time nurses notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained in this agreement.
Part-time Nurses. Part-time nurses shall be entitled to vacation pay which is included in the percentage paid in lieu of benefits, pension, vacation and statutory holidays as per Article
Part-time Nurses. Section 1: The parties to this Agreement recognize that the caseload at the various health centers fluctuates from time to time. In order to generally permit the assignment of full-time Nurses at particular health centers to regular shifts and at regular hours, the parties have agreed to the employment of part-time Nurses at any time and from time to time. One of the functions of these part-time Nurses will be to allow the Employer to have the flexibility to provide additional nursing services at various health centers. VNACJ shall have the right to assign part-time nurses from one health center to another health center on an as needed basis. All part-time Nurses will be assigned to a particular work site.
Section 2: The part-time Nurse assigned to the day shift shall work a minimum of two (2) full days up to a maximum of four (4) full days per week. These days shall be permanently assigned work days. It is understood that extended hours Nurses will work 10-30 hours per week.
Section 3: Nurses who change their employment status from full-time to part- time will retain their present employment anniversary date for the purposes of the annual evaluation, incremental increase, and vacation benefits. (See Article 18, for seniority accrued).
Section 4: Part-time Nurses working at least one thousand (1,000) hours per year with two years of service and those whose employment status changes from full-time to part-time or vice versa and who work one thousand (1,000) hours that year shall be enrolled in the retirement program.
Section 5: Part-time Nurses will receive proration of all benefits, except health insurance and holidays worked, as set forth in this Contract unless otherwise provided in a specific Article. Based on FTE status (scheduled hours), Part-Time nurses shall have the following annual holiday and weekend maximum rotation requirements: Holidays Weekends .8 (30 hrs/wk) 2 10 .6 (22.5 hrs/wk) 2 8 .4 (15 hrs/wk) 1 6 Part-time Nurses will be assigned to the weekend and holiday rotation schedule as set forth in Article 2. Part-time Nurses who are assigned to work a particular weekend or weekends will be expected to report to the health center to which they are assigned on the Friday afternoon prior to the weekend to receive their weekend assignments and on the Monday morning following the weekend to file their reports. Part-time Nurses will be reimbursed at the mileage rate established by the Internal Revenue Service adjusted at the time of IRS notice.
