Holidavs. 13.01 The following holidays will be granted to all employees covered by this Agreement who have completed thirty (30) days of employment: New Year's Day Good Friday Victoria Day Canada Day Civic Holiday Labour Day Thanksgiving Day Christmas Day Boxing Day 2 Floating Holidays (Taken during each calendar year) Note: Floating Holiday is available to employees having passed the probationary period under Article 9 - Probation. The Civic Holiday specified above is taken in the Province of Ontario in lieu of Remembrance Day. In the Province of Quebec, St-Xxxx Xxxxxxxx Day (National Day) will be taken on June 24 in each year in lieu of Remembrance Day.
13.01.01 The Floating Holidays referred to in Article 13.01 will be taken without loss of regular pay during the calendar year on a date chosen by the employee 38 Unifor YUL-YYZ Agreement 2015.doc with the approval of the Company, with two (2) weeks' notice to the Company. Such approval shall be subject to operational requirements and will not be unreasonably withheld but approval will be deemed to have been granted if notice to the contrary is not provided to the employee by the Company in writing at least seven (7) calendar days in advance of the requested date. The Company may elect to not cover the shift of the employee taking the floating holiday and approve the day immediately. Alternatively, the Company will post the employee's shift for up to seven (7) calendar days for coverage on an overtime/recall basis. If the Company is unable to obtain coverage with overtime/recall, and within seven (7) calendar days in advance of the requested day, the employee will be entitled to arrange their own coverage for the day if they so desire. The provisions of Articles 13.02 and 13.03 will not apply to the tfloating Holidays. Each unused Floating Holiday remaining at the end of the calendar year will be paid out to the employee at the rate of twelve (12) hours pay provided the employee has chosen, but been denied approval, two (2) dates on which the tfloating Holiday would be taken; othetfise each unused tfloating Holiday remaining will be paid out at the rate of eight (8) hours pay.
13.02 If operational requirements allow a reduction of staff levels on a holiday, the Company will first offer the day off to employees on each shift, classification and terminal in order of seniority. Holidavs. Un to 11~ (Secretaries who work the full year) - Employees will be expected to report for work when school is .not in session, including snow days and will also receive full pay for the following holidays providing they work the day before or the day after: (1) Labor Day, (2) Thanksgiving Day and (3) the day after Thanksgiving, (4) Christmas, (5) New Year's Day, (6) Memorial Day, (7/8) Winter Break, (9) the Fourth of July and (10) the first day of spring break or Good Friday. On the last working day preceding Christmas and New Year's Day, employees will work four hours one day and have their choice of a full day holiday on either Christmas Eve or New Year's Eve (11~).

Holidavs. All police department employees shall have eleven (11) paid holidays per year, plus one (1) business day per year. These holidays shall include: Xxxxxxx's Birthday, Washington's Birthday, Easter, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veteran's Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Years Day. Additionally, all on-duty police department employees may request leave from 12:00 o'clock noon to 3:00 o'clock p.m. for religious observance of Good Friday; it being understood that such leave is to b granted whenever feasible, through the exercise of sound discretion by the Chief of Police. An employee must actually work his last regularly scheduled day before and his first regularly scheduled day after the holiday in order to receive holiday pay, unless such absence is excused. If an employee is scheduled to work a holiday and fails to report for work, he/she shall not be eligible for any holiday pay. If a holiday is worked, employees may choose between receiving double time or compensatory time off in an amount equivalent to the number of hours worked on the holiday. To the extent the hours worked on a holiday also constitute overtime, such compensatory time off shall be in an amount equivalent to one and one-half times the number of hours worked on the holiday, and the time off is to be approved by the command officer in charge and taken within the same pay period as the overtime hours were worked. No employee shall be allowed to accumulate more than thirty (30) days of compensatory time. Employees with more than thirty (30) days compensatory time accumulated at the time of ratification of this contract shall have up to one
(1) year from such date to use and thereby reduce their accumulated compensatory time to the maximum level. Failure to do so will result in involuntary payment of such excess compensatory time.

Holidavs. Whenever payment of a Loan to be made or taken hereunder shall be due on a day which is not a Business Day such payment shall be due on the next Business Day and such extension of time shall be included in computing interest and fees, except that the Loans shall be due on the Business Day preceding the Expiration Date if the Expiration Date is not a Business Day. Whenever any payment or action to be made or taken hereunder (other than payment of the Loans)shall be stated to be due on a day which is not a Business Day, such payment or action shall be made or taken on the next following Business Day, and such extension of time shall not be included in computing interest or fees, if any, in connection with such payment or action.

Holidavs. The employer will pay a normal day's pay to 230 to 250 day employees for the following holidays, even though no work is performed: Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve Day, New Year's Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day and July Fourth (10). The employer will pay a normal day's pay to employees who work 229 days or less for the following holidays, even though no work is performed: Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve Day, New Year's Day, Good Friday and Memorial Day (9). Employees who work a five (5) hours or less work schedule will receive pay for the following holidays, even though no work is performed: Labor Day, Memorial Day, Thanksgiving and Good Friday (total hours paid for a holiday work week not to exceed scheduled work week).
