HOURS OF WORK - SHIFTS - OVERTIME. The work week will start with the first shift on Monday and conclude with the third shift on Friday . Eight (8) hours per day shall constitute a standard work day between the hours of 6:00 a .m . and 6:00 p .m . with one-half (½) hour unpaid lunch period . Hours of work may be changed by the Em- ployer with twenty-four (24) hour prior notification to the Union . Forty (40) hours per week, Monday through Friday, shall constitute a regular work week . 8 .2 Employees will be at their place of work, ready for work, at the start of the shift . The place of work shall be defined as the gang or tool box or equipment at the employ- ee’s assigned work location . Dry and/or lunch shacks and/ or check-in locations shall be placed as near the gangbox or work location as possible . Crews on shift will be given adequate time to gather up their tools before quitting time . Employees being terminated or laid off shall be given xxx- xxxxx time to collect tools and belongings prior to the end of the shift . On jobs where the Employer or owner prohibits private vehicles beyond a designated area, the Employer will furnish a manhaul or permit the employees sufficient time to walk to the parking lot by quitting time . 8 .3 Work performed in excess of eight (8) hours per day Monday through Friday, or outside the normal shift, and all work on Saturdays shall be paid at time and one-half the straight time rate . Sundays and Holidays shall be paid at double the straight time rate . The Employer shall have the sole discretion to assign overtime work to employees with consideration of retention of the Job Xxxxxxx (See Article 12) . 8 .4 Shifts may be established when considered neces- sary by the Employer . HOURS OF WORK - SHIFTS - OVERTIME. Section 1. Employees covered by this Agreement shall be paid under the Blue Collar Pay Plan contained in Addendum A of this agreement which is attached and by this reference made a part hereof as though full set forth herein. Section 2. Regular Workday. A regular workday shall consist of eight hours, including one- half hour for lunch. Employees covered by this Agreement shall normally be allowed two 15-minute breaks during each shift. One break shall be taken during the first half of a shift and one break during the last half of a shift. Breaks shall be taken at a time and place mutually agreed upon. Employees shall also be granted a 30-minute meal period with pay and one free meal.
HOURS OF WORK - SHIFTS - OVERTIME. The following sections are designed to identify the regular hours of work, shift hours, and overtime hours, and are not to be construed as a guarantee of hours or work per day, per week, or with respect to in any week. The regular working day shall consist of eight (8) hours of employment normally worked between a.m. and when a one half hour lunch period is scheduled or between a. m. and when a one (1) hour lunch period is scheduled, Monday through Friday. The Employer may vary the times by changing scheduled starting time up to one hour at their option. Variances beyond one (1) hour shall be agreed mutually by the Employer and the Business Representative of the Union and the consent to variance will not be unreasonably withheld. Non-Industrial Work The Employer may vary the times by up to two (2) hours at his option. Variances of greater than two (2) hours shall be mutually agreed between the Employer and the Union. Shift work is defined as a continuous operation, but for the lunch period, for which start times shall be between noon and a.m., for a minimum of two (2) consecutive working days. Industriai Work the shift premium for any "second" or "third" shall be three dollars ($3.00) per hour. Work there shall be a shift premium of one dollar and fifty cents ($1.50) per hour for a "second" or "third" shift. There shall be no pyramiding of premiums. Industrial Work overtime rates shall be as follows: time and one-half for the first two hours of overtime worked in a regular week day, being Monday through Friday inclusive, when compressed work weeks are scheduled pursuant to Article on a Monday through Thursday basis, time and one-half shall apply to the first ten (10) hours worked on the Friday, in double time shall apply to all overtime hours that are not included and above. time for overtime worked on a Saturday or Sunday outside the periods referenced in and above, and for hours worked on a "General Holiday" as set out in Article hereof. It is accepted that a worker may, from time to time, require personal time off from work to deal with personal matters. In order to facilitate this, a worker will accumulate one-half shift (either four hours on an eight hour shift or five hours on a ten hour shift) of unpaid personal absence allowance for each month worked up to a maximum accumulation of two full shifts.   • HOURS OF WORK & OVERTIME Section 15.1 This Article is intended to define the normal hours of work per day or per week in effect at the time of execution of this Agreement. Nothing contained herein shall be construed as preventing the Employer from restructuring the normal workday or workweek as necessary to promote efficiency or improve services, or from establishing the work schedules of employees. However, nothing in this Section shall relieve the Employer of its duty to bargain the affects of such decisions on employee wages, hours, terms and other conditions of employment. This Article shall be used as the basis for computing overtime for employees who are not exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act and shall not be construed as a guarantee of hours of work per day or per week. Section 15.2 Employees may take one paid fifteen (15) minute break for every four (4) hour block worked. Employees may combine breaks to take up to one (1) sixty (60) minute paid break. Employees may not leave campus on their paid breaks. Section 15.3 Bargaining unit employees who are not exempt from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act will be paid one and one-half times their normal hourly rate for all hours actually worked in excess of forty (40) hours per work week. All overtime shall have prior supervisory approval, except when it is necessary for a nurse to remain on duty to protect patient safety. Only hours actually worked are counted for the purpose of computing an employee's eligibility for overtime pay. There shall be no pyramiding of hours or pay. Section 15.4 The Board serves individuals 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. To meet this need for service to our individuals evening and weekend hours may be required of any bargaining unit employee. The Employer will establish the standard work day as beginning at 6:00 a.m. and ending at 5:59 a.m. and starting and ending times for each shift in each department. Supervisors will establish daily workschedules. Section 15.5 Absent an emergency situation, management will notify the Union in the event management intends to institute a long-term change in the present shift times for nurses. Following notification and upon request by the Union, management will meet with the Union to discuss the reason for the change and possible alternatives.

  • HOURS OF WORK AND OVERTIME 16.1 This Article is intended to define the normal hours of work per day or per week in effect at the time of execution of this Agreement. This Article is intended to be used as the basis for computing overtime. 16.2 The work week shall be computed between 12:01 a.m. on Sunday of each calendar week and at 12 o'clock midnight the following Saturday. 16.3 When an employee is required by the Employer to work for more than forty (40) hours in a calendar week, he shall be paid overtime pay for all time worked in excess of the forty (40) hours. Overtime pay shall be paid at the rate of one and one-half (1-1/2) times the employee's regular hourly rate of pay, which includes Annual Leave, Extended Leave or holidays taken in the forty (40) hour week only in their normal job classification. 16.4 Whenever an employee is called to work at a time other than his regular work schedule, thereby necessitating additional travel to and from work, he shall be guaranteed two (2) hours of pay at the straight time or overtime rate, whichever is appropriate, in accordance with the other articles of the Agreement. 16.5 Based on the needs of the Washington County Board of DD, full-time permanent employees may be given the opportunity to volunteer during the summer months to work a four (4) day, ten (10) hours per day work week, scheduled either as a Monday through Thursday or Tuesday through Friday as approved by the department’s supervisor or Superintendent. When two or more employees work in the same department, the schedules will be staggered so that each day of the work week is covered. The Employee with the most seniority will be given priority as to days worked. Holiday pay will be given for the number of hours the Employee works without a modified summer schedule, not to exceed eight (8) hours. The Employee will be expected to use Annual Leave for the remaining hours or make up the hours throughout the remainder of the current week. 16.6 Employees who work on Sunday shall be paid at one and one-half (1-1/2) times the employee's regular hourly rate. 16.7 There shall be no pyramiding of overtime or premium pay under any provisions of this Agreement. 16.8 Full time status with the Washington County Board of Developmental Disabilities is 30 or more hours per week, exclusive of a one-half (1/2) hour lunch period.

  • HOURS OF WORK i) Where employees are now working a longer daily tour, the provisions set out in this Article governing the regular hours of work on a daily tour shall be adjusted accordingly. ii) The normal daily extended tour shall be 11.25 consecutive hours in any 24-hour period, exclusive of a total of forty-five (45) minutes of unpaid meal time. For hybrid schedules, there will be scheduled normal daily tours of seven and one-half (7½) hours and 11.25 consecutive hours per day. iii) Employees working an extended tour shall be entitled, subject to the exigencies of resident care, to paid relief periods during the tour of a total of forty-five (45) minutes. For hybrid schedules, there will also be shifts that provide for relief periods in accordance with Article 15.02. iv) Scheduling issues will be resolved at the local level. v) Where the union and the employer have agreed to or agree to an extended daily tour or hybrid schedule that differs from the normal daily extended tour, the proportion of unpaid time to hours of work shall maintain the same ratio as set out in paragraph ii) and iii) of this Article.
