WORK SCHEDULES AND OVERTIME. A. The standard work week for all Employees shall be forty (40) hours per week. The work week is established as five (5) days a week, Monday through Friday, eight (8) hours per day unless otherwise scheduled by the Employer. B. Overtime pay will be one and one-half (1½) times the hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of forty (40) hours per weekly pay period. Employees called in or required to work on scheduled vacation days or holidays shall be paid at the overtime rate for hours worked on those days. Holiday pay is considered time worked for determining overtime pay eligibility. C. The Employer has the right to establish such hours as each job or classification requires. The Employer shall assign times of work with regards to the job. While subject to change by the Employer as conditions necessitate, those Employees covered under this Agreement assigned to either a middle school or high school shall work from 2:00 p.m. through 10:00 p.m. unless otherwise notified. Those Employees covered under this Agreement who are assigned to an elementary school shall work the hours of 3:00 p.m. through 11:00 p.m. unless otherwise notified. The Employer shall provide the Employees with at least twenty-four (24) hours notice of changes in schedules except in cases of snow removal or like emergencies or upon agreement with the Employee(s) or during the summer months. Changes in schedules may occur at the request of the Employee upon approval of the supervisor under special circumstances. The Employer reserves the right to require that Employees work mandatory overtime based upon classification. Such overtime will be assigned based on classification and inverse seniority with the least senior Employee being assigned mandatory overtime first. D. All Employees shall receive two (2) ten (10) minute coffee breaks each work day as assigned by the respective supervisor and a thirty (30) minute paid lunch period. E. It is understood that “overtime” shall be defined as additional time for work over forty (40) hours per week which is necessary in the judgment of the Employer to complete required work. It is understood that the Employer shall not be required to pay overtime to replace absent Employees with substitutes during normal working hours nor shall it be required to pay overtime during the summer months when it traditionally hires extra custodians (i.e., ten-month Employees on occasion). WORK SCHEDULES AND OVERTIME. A. Employees employed on a weekly basis shall be guaranteed a minimum of forty (40) hours in any five (5) workdays out of seven (7) consecutive days, with two (2) consecutive days off. A day off at the end of any workweek immediately followed by another day off at the beginning of the next workweek shall satisfy the two (2) consecutive days off requirement. A workday starting on one calendar day and running into the next calendar day shall be credited to the first (1st) calendar day. The Employer will give notice of at least five (5) working days prior to a change in the employee's regular work schedule except where exigencies of production make such notice impractical or impossible. B. Overtime shall be paid as follows for employees other than Weekly On-Call employees: (1) Time and one-half the employee's regular hourly rate of pay for hours worked over eight (8) in a day or over forty (40) within a workweek, except as otherwise provided herein. (2) Time and one-half the employee's regular hourly rate of pay for all hours worked on a sixth consecutive day worked within a workweek. (3) Two (2) times the employee's regular hourly rate of pay for all hours worked in excess of twelve
WORK SCHEDULES AND OVERTIME. A thirty minute unpaid duty-free lunch period shall be allotted daily to full-time employees in the classification of aides, clerical, custodial and cooks. These lunch periods shall be scheduled by the employee's immediate supervisor.
WORK SCHEDULES AND OVERTIME. Effective July 2005, the parties agree to add the modified 7/12 schedule and overtime provisions to the Agreement. It is understood that Section 7.10 applies only to sworn employees in the classes in the Probation Non-Supervisory Unit who are assigned to the Youth Detention Facility Visitors Center. WORK SCHEDULES AND OVERTIME a) Secretarial, Clerical Employees and Library Technicians The regular work week for secretarial, clerical and library technician employees is thirty-five (35) hours worked in five (5) consecutive days, Monday through Friday. All elementary school secretaries shall work an additional four days following the end of a school year. The additional days, may, at the Board's discretion, be scheduled to occur following the last day of classes just prior to the commencement of the subsequent school year. The Board will advise elementary school secretaries of the proposed schedule by May of each year. Library Technicians in both elementary and secondary schools shall work an additional five (5) days prior to the commencement of the school year. The employees at the Catholic Education Centre may work their regular work week at flexible hours on the understanding that a.m. to shall be considered core hours. Notwithstanding the core hours, a lunch period shall be allowed during the core period. The employees will request prior approval of the Superintendent of Human Resources or designate for the employees' plan of designated flexible hours. Educational Intervenors The regular work week for educational intervenors is thirty (30) hours worked in (5) consecutivedays Monday through Friday, as adapted to the needs of the school. Effective October the regular work week for elementary educational intervenors is hours worked in five (5) consecutive days Monday through Friday, as adapted to the needs of the school.
