The Union shall supply the Employer with applications for union membership and dues deduction authorization forms, which will be presented to all new employees on the day the new employee is hired. All completed copies of the application for union membershipform will be returned to the Union and will serve as notification of commencement of employment. Upon termination of employment of any employee, the dues deduction authorization form shall be returned to the Union within four working days. is agreed and understood that work covered by this agreement shall be sublet only to those sub-contractors who are signatory to the Labourers' International Union of North America, Local to perform such work.

The difference, if any, between wages paid under the Town By-law and the benefits granted by this paragraph shall be retroactively provided a part-year employee upon his or her initial qualification for the same by completion of the minimal amount of employment above. Following initial qualification, an employee shall not be required to re-qualify (await retroactive payment) in subsequent fiscal years provided always the minimal amount of employment had been attained in the fiscal year before that in question. The Town will not bid, promote, or finance any labor group or organization which purports to engage in collective bargaining, or make any agreement with any group or individual for the purpose of undermining the Union or changing any conditions contained in this Agreement.

It is understood that this wording is not intended to change past practice and it is agreed that the restriction related to bargaining unit duties refers to specific job duties and not to such as writing, using calculators, Xerox, telephoning.
