ARTICLE DESIGNATED HOLIDAYS. Four and six-tenths percent (4.6%) of regular straight time pay, not including vacation pay, shall be added to the member's regular pay to compensate for designated holidays. When any of the above-named holidays falls on a Saturday or Sunday, Board shall designate an alternate day as the day of observance of such holiday and it is agreed that any premium payable for working on a designated holiday shall not apply to such Saturday or Sunday. Every member who is required to work on a day so designated as a holiday shall be paid at the rate of time and one-half for the so worked in addition to the payment specified in clause above.
ARTICLE DESIGNATED HOLIDAYS. Every member shall be entitled to the following statutory holidays during the of this Collective Agreement: New Year's Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday, Victoria Day, Canada Day, Civic Holiday, Labour Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and Boxing Day In addition to the holidays provided in (a) above, every member who has completed six months service on June of any year shall on that date have credited to lieu time bank one day’s credit at straight time (i.e. eight hours or seven hours, as the case may be) and every member who has completed six months service on October of any year shall on that date have credited to lieu bank one day‘s credit at straight time similarly calculated, such time in each case to be used in accordance with the lieu time provisions of the Collective Agreement. A member to qualify for payment of holidays in (a) and above must be in receipt of some salary including sick pay under clause in respect to the two clear calendar months immediatelypreceding such holiday. When any of the above-named holidays falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the Friday preceding or the Monday succeeding such holiday shall be designated by the Board as the day of observance of such holiday and it is agreed that any premium payable for working on a designated holiday shall not apply to such Saturday or Sunday. Every member who is not required to work on a day so designated as a holiday shall be entitled to and shall be paid regular rate of pay for each designated holiday not so worked. Every member who is required to work on a day so designated as a holiday shall be paid at the rate of time and one-half for the time so worked and, in addition, shall be granted the option of being paid for a day at regular rate of pay or receiving a day off in lieu thereof to be taken at a time agreed upon between the member and Unit Commander. Lieu time may be taken as a part of a day or as a whole day.
ARTICLE DESIGNATED HOLIDAYS. Subject to sub-clause the following days shall be designated as holidays with pay for employees: New Year's Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday, the day fixed by proclamation of the Governor in Council for celebration of the Sovereign's Birthday, Canada Day, Labour Day, the day fixed by proclamation of the Governor in Council as a general day of Thanksgiving, Remembrance Day, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and one additional day in each year that, in the opinion of the Council, is recognized to be a provincial or civic holiday in the area in which the employee is employed or in any area where, in the opinion of the Council no such day is recognized as a provincial or civic holiday, the first Monday in August, and one additional day when proclaimed by an Act of Parliament as a National Holiday. An employee who is absent without pay on both full working day immediately preceding and on full working day immediately following a designated holiday is not entitled to pay for the holiday. Holiday Falling on a Day of Rest When a day, except Boxing Day, designated as a holiday under clause coincides with an employee's day of rest, the holiday shall be moved to the employee's first normal working day following day of rest. Boxing Day shall be observed on the first normal working day immediately following the calendar day on which Christmas Day is granted as a designated holiday. When a day designated as a holiday for an employee is moved to another day under the provisions of sub-clause work performed by an employee on the day from which the holiday was moved shall be considered as work performed on a day of rest, and work performed by an employee on the day to which the holiday was moved, shall be considered as work performed on a holiday.
ARTICLE DESIGNATED HOLIDAYS. The following days shall be observed as designated holidays: New Year's Day Good Friday Victoria Day Canada Day Civic Holiday Labour Day Thanksgiving Day Christmas Day Boxing Day An employee who has completed their probationary period shall receive holiday pay at their regular straight time rate of pay exclusive of premiums for the number of straight time hours which, but for the holiday, the employee would have been normally scheduled. Regularly scheduled hours worked in your home department on a designated holiday will be counted for the purpose of determining eligibility for premium pay. In order to be eligible for payment for such holiday pay the employee must work their last full regularly scheduled shift immediately before the holiday and their first full regularly scheduled shift immediately after the holiday. Employees who are in receipt of weekly or Workers' Compensation benefits and as a result have not worked their immediate regularly scheduled shifts before and holiday will receive holiday pay during their first six months absence from work. An employee who is required to work on any of the holidays listed in Article hereof shall be paid for each such hour worked on such holiday at the rate of one and one-half times his regular straight time rate of pay, and in addition shall receive the holiday pay provided for herein. Where a designated holiday falls on a non-working day for an employee or during their vacation, the employee shall receive the holiday pay provided for herein but shall not receive another day off as a designated holiday. Where an employee is employed in a continuous operation and works on a designated holiday the employee shall be paid at the rate of time and one-half their rate of pay for each hour worked, and where the employee qualifies hereunder for the holiday with pay, the employee shall be paid their regular wages in addition, but shall not receive another day off as a designated holiday. If work is required to be performed on a holiday, but the entire department is not needed, the higher seniority employees will have the choice of whether to work or not, providing that the remaining employees may competently perform the work required. This article applies to all departments except the press departments.
ARTICLE DESIGNATED HOLIDAYS. The following days shall be designated by the Corporation as holidays for employees under this Agreement: New Year’s Day August Civic Good Friday Labour Day Victoria Day Thanksgiving Day Xxxx Xxx Christmas Day Canada Day Boxing Day Remembrance Day Employees who have worked ten 0) days or more out of thirty (30) calendar days preceding the holidays designated in Xxxxxx will be paid a sum of money, calculated on the accumulated hours worked during the thirty (30) days period, divided by the number of days worked and multiplied by their applicable rate of pay as delineated in Appendix "A". Employees who have worked less than ten days out of the thirty (30) calendar days preceding the holidays designated in Clause will be paid an amount equal to one-twentieth of their gross wages earned in the thirty
ARTICLE DESIGNATED HOLIDAYS. A Seniority employee shall be compensated for time lost as a result of one of the following holidays being observed on the employee's regularly scheduled work day. Notwithstanding the foregoing, an employee who on the date of observance of such holiday has completed thirty (30) working days with the Company, and who eventually completes the probationary period will be reimbursed for each such designated holiday that occurred between date of completion of thirty (30) working days and date of attainment of seniority. The foregoing shall be subject to the other qualifying requirements of this Article Compensation shall be a sum equivalent to the employee's standard rate or rate for a day worker, or average earnings in the pay period in which the holiday falls in the case of an incentive worker, for the number of straight time hours in the employee's normal work day, provided the employee complies with the qualifications set forth in this Article The designated holidays are: New Year's Day Labour Day Good Friday Thanksgiving Day Victoria Day Christmas Day Dominion Day Boxing Day Civic Holiday Two floating holidays during the Christmas shutdown. *Having regard for the multi-cultural makeup of the community, employees may elect to use one of the floating holidays for cultural or religious observance during the year. Employees electing to use a floating holiday for cultural or religious purposes shall notify the company of their expected date of absence no later than December of the previous year.
ARTICLE DESIGNATED HOLIDAYS. For the purpose of this Collective Agreement, the paid designated holidays shall be: New Year's Day (January 1st) Labour Day Good Friday Thanksgiving Day Victoria Day (July Remembrance Day (November Christmas Day (December 25th) Any other statutory or public holiday as declared by the Provincial Government. In order for an employee to qualify for a statutory holiday, he must have earned wages for all or part of each day of at least fifteen (15) days during the thirty (30) calendar days preceding the holiday. Vacation, leave of absence authorized by the Company, sick leave, shall not disqualify an employee, ARTICLE DESIGNATED PAID HOLIDAYS (Continued) When a day designated as a holiday under clause coincides with an employee’s day of rest, pay at the straight time rate for the employees regular daily scheduled hours shall be paid in lieu of a day off. Upon request, and with the approval of the Employer, the employee may be granted a day of leave with straight time rate of pay at a later date in lieu of the holiday. When a day designated as a holiday for an employee is moved to another day under the provisions of clause 23.03:
ARTICLE DESIGNATED HOLIDAYS. During the period that this Agreement is in force, the following days shall be observed as Designated Holidays: Good Friday Victoria Day Canada Day New Brunswick Day Labour Day Thanksgiving Day Remembrance Day Christmas Day Boxing Day New Years Day Employees required to work on any Designated Holiday shall be paid in accordance with the overtime provisions in Article for all hours worked at the request of the Employer.
ARTICLE DESIGNATED HOLIDAYS. Platoon (a) employees shall be granted eleven (11) days off each year in lieu of statutory and declared holidays and those days shall be taken betweenJanuary 1st and December Employees in the Fire Prevention, Training and Administrative Divisions will receive the following statutory holidays: New Year's Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday, Victoria Day, Canada Day, Civic Holiday, Labour Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and Boxing Day. The eleventh day may be taken according to the and Regulations pertainingto vacations. An employee with less than one (1) full year of service shall be granted designated holidays on a pro-rated basis. Should the Governor General, Lieutenant-Governor, or the Council of the Town of proclaim any other day as a public holiday, such shall be considered as a twelfth designated holiday.
