Authorized Holidays. The following and, in addition, any other days or holidays that may be designated by the Mayor or City Council, are paid holidays for employees under this contract: (2019-2020) September 2, November 28, December 24, December 25, January 1, January 20, July 4:
Authorized Holidays. For all employees, either time worked or not worked but excused without loss of pay on an Authorized Holiday observed Monday through Saturday, up to the length of a normal tour, shall be con- sidered as work time for the purpose of determining hours in excess of the number of hours that constitute a normal work week at the basic rate in the calendar week; provided, however, that such treatment shall not apply where the employee is an “absentee” as defined in Ar- ticle VIII, Section 4., Holidays, of the 2017 Departmen- tal Agreement, or is treated as absent on the Holiday un- der Article XI, Absences From Duty, of the 2017 De- partmental Agreement.
Authorized Holidays. Ten (10) Authorized Holidays shall be observed as follows: New Year’s Day Christmas Day Memorial Day Designated Holiday Independence Day (See Note below) Labor Day Two (2) Floating Holidays Thanksgiving Day (See Note below) Day After Thanksgiving Note: Each employee who could complete six (6) months of service within the calendar year shall be eligible for one (1) Designated Holiday and two (2) Floating Holi- days. An eligible employee will designate three (3) days in the same calendar year, or prior to April 1 of the fol- lowing year, other than a Sunday or another Authorized Holiday, for the days to be observed as the employee’s Designated Holiday and Floating Holidays. Unlike other Authorized Holidays, Management cannot require an employee to work on his/her Designated Holiday or Floating Holidays. When an Authorized Holiday falls on Sunday, it shall be observed on the following Monday.
Authorized Holidays. A. Ten holidays shall be authorized (6 specific holidays and 4 Optional Holidays) as follows:
1. Specified Holidays: NEW YEAR'S DAY LABOR DAY MEMORIAL DAY THANKSGIVING DAY (Last Monday in May) CHRISTMAS DAY INDEPENDENCE DAY
2. Optional Holidays: (CPE and Large Business see Customer Markets Addendum, DSG see Network Addendum) Any day other than those specified in "1" above such as, but not limited to, Washington's Birthday, Good Friday, Veteran's Day, Xxxxxx Xxxxxx Xxxx'x Birthday, employee's birthday, religious holidays or days of remembrance, etc., may be selected as an Optional Holiday. Where some other holiday has special local significance (such as Mardi Gras Day at New Orleans, LA), that day may be substituted for one of the four optional holidays if locally desired.
a. Employees shall designate 4 optional days as being their additional holidays. An Optional Holiday may be scheduled in a week with a specified holiday. Employees who have not made such designation by December 31st shall observe Washington's Birthday (third Monday in February), Good Friday, Veteran's Day (November 11) and the employee's birthday as appropriate.
b. Employees hired or recalled from layoff who have not previously worked in the calendar year are entitled to Optional Holidays in accordance with the following schedule: January 1 March 31 4 days April 1 June 30 3 days July 1 September 30 2 days October 1 November 15 1 day November 16 December 31 0 days* *Except for an Optional Holiday that has been determined to be a day of local significance, those hired or recalled from layoff after November 15 are not eligible for optional holidays in the current calendar year.
c. Employees who are transferred into a work group where an Optional Holiday has been determined to be a day of local significance, and who have previously used all of their Optional Holidays will be excused and paid for the determined day.
d. Employees who are transferred into a work group where an Optional Holiday has been determined to be a day of local significance, and who have remaining Optional Holidays will be required to use one of their remaining Optional Holidays as the determined day.

Authorized Holidays. All employees shall have time off, with full salary payment, on the day designated as a holiday for the following: New Year’s Day Xxxxxx Xxxxxx Xxxx Day and any additional days proclaimed as holidays or non- working days by the Governor of the State of Illinois or by the President of the United States.
Authorized Holidays a. The following paid holidays shall be observed:

Authorized Holidays. (1) Effective the first pay period of each calendar year, each employee shall receive one-hundred (100) total hours of paid holiday leave in a “holiday bank.” Non-patrol employees who choose to work on the actual holiday shall do so in patrol, unless specifically authorized by their supervisor for another assignment. During the first six months of the calendar year, employees may either use (subject to supervisory approval) or request payment for up to one-half the total annual holiday hours accrued. The remaining hours accrued may be either used (subject to supervisory approval) or requested for payment during the second six months of the calendar year.
a) Effective the first full pay period after July 1, 2009, each employee shall receive an additional 10 total hours of paid holiday leave in their holiday bank for Veteran’s Day, which must be taken as a day off (i.e., cannot be “cashed out”) in fiscal year 09-10, and must also be taken as a day off (i.e., cannot be “cashed out”) in fiscal year 10-11. The Veteran’s Day holiday need not be taken on Veteran’s Day.
(2) An employee who commences employment at a time other than the beginning of a calendar year shall only be entitled to receive those holiday benefits described in subparagraph (3) of this section attributable to those holidays that have occurred during the period actually worked. Likewise, employees who separate from service during the course of a calendar year shall only be entitled in that year to utilize those holiday benefits described in subparagraph (3) of this section which pertain to the time period they worked. The value of any holidays used in excess of those entitled shall be deemed a wage advance and shall be deducted from the employee’s final paycheck. An employee who is on an unpaid leave of absence during any holiday designated in subparagraph (3) is not entitled to receive any holiday benefits for that holiday and such hours shall not be included in the Holiday Bank. If an employee dies or has a grave non-industrial illness/injury and does not return to work, the City will not seek reimbursement of any used but unearned holiday pay.
Authorized Holidays. Employee’s shall be entitled to the following paid holidays: New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, Xxxxxx Xxxxxx Xxxx, Xx. Birthday, Washington’s Birthday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veteran’s Day, Thanksgiving Day, and the Friday following Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve and Christmas. The City shall observe the Friday preceding a legal holiday falling on Saturday as a legal holiday and the Monday following a legal holiday falling on a Sunday as a legal holiday. For employees on seven (7) day per week assignments, the holiday shall be celebrated on the day on which it falls.
Authorized Holidays. A. Designated Holidays – The Company recognizes the following ten (10) Designated Holidays, which are to be observed in 2016 and subsequent calendar years: New Year’s Day Labor Day Xxxxxx Xxxxxx Xxxx Day Thanksgiving Day President’s Day Day After Thanksgiving Memorial Day Christmas Eve Independence Day Christmas Day
B. In the event the Company desires to change any of the Designated Holidays in subsequent years, it shall meet with the Union and discuss such proposed changes prior to November 1 of the preceding year. Changes to Designated Holidays shall only be made upon agreement with the Union.
C. Due to the timing of contract implementation, Xxxxxx Xxxxxx Xxxx and President’s Days will be replaced by 2 Optional Holidays in 2016. No employee shall be entitled to more than 2 Optional Holidays in calendar 2016.
