DISABILITY AND SICK LEAVE. Section D.1 Accumulated sick leave shall be paid to the Employee when he is unable to report to work because of illness or injury not covered under the Oregon Worker's Compensation Law. Xxxx leave will not be paid to the Employee injured while working for wages on a job outside of his employment with the District. Section D.2 A complete and accurate record shall be kept at all times of the accumulation of the Employee's sick leave. Section D.3 The District may require sick slips from physicians at its discretion. Section D.4 Xxxx leave to attend an ill family member shall be limited to the period that the Chiefs attendance is required, not to exceed five consecutive days, in order to arrange for the care of such ill family member. Any additional time needed may be granted at the Boards discretion. Any such leave shall be charged to the Chiefs sick leave or accrued time on the books. Family members for this section shall be defined as those individuals identified as the Chiefs immediate family. Section D.5 Upon written application by the Chief, additional time may be granted by the District for the remaining period of disability after accrued sick leave has been exhausted. The District may require a physician's report of progress periodically during the period of such disability. Section D.6 The Chief is granted 600 hours sick leave upon hire. Section D.7 Sick leave in addition to Section D.6 shall begin to accrue on the first day of the Chiefs employment. Sick leave is accrued at the rate of eight (8) hours per month. Sick leave shall continue to accumulate during vacation and sick leave periods when the Employee is being paid by the District. Except as so provided upon retirement, unused sick leave shall not be paid upon termination of employment.

An election to reserve up to five (5) days of the sick leave allowance may not be revoked. Section 5. At the commencement of the school year each employee shall be advised of the number of days of sick leave credit accumulated.

These five (5) days, forty (40) straight time hours, may be selected under the same procedure by the employee as part of the employees next vacation selection period. When accumulated unused sick leave is paid, it shall be paid at the employee’s current rate of pay. Sick pay contribution shall be allocated under the following condi- tions: 1. Sick pay to be allowed for the first day of any period of absence from work due to a bona fide sickness or disability and shall start when an employee leaves the job because of injury on the job. 2. An employee unable to work because of sickness or disability must notify the Company one (1) hour or more before the employee is scheduled to report for work, unless conditions make it impossi- ble to give such notification, and sickness shall be deemed to have commenced at the time the Company is so notified, unless notifica- tion is impossible. 3. No employee shall be entitled to disability leave pay when the sickness or injury is due to intoxication or the use of narcotics, nor shall it apply in case of injury while working for another employer or while self-employed for profit or compensation. 4. No employee shall be requested to have a medical release from their physician, unless the employee has been on sick leave five (5) consecutive days or more, or in the event of any personal injury. 5. Pro-rated unused sick leave pay will be paid in cases of separa- tion from the Company after one (1) year of employment. An em- ployee who retires from the Company, and is entitled to receive payment for prorated unused sick leave pay, shall also be paid a separate additional cash payment equal to the total pension contri- butions which the Company would ha...

DISABILITY AND SICK LEAVE. A seniority full-time employee who meets the qualifications set forth in the incapacitated employee language contained in the last two paragraphs of Article 20—Disability and Sick Leave shall be afforded the first opportunity to fill any newly established, or per- manently vacated, full-time combination jobs prior to such newly established, or permanently vacated, full-time combination jobs being bid, by seniority, in the order of classifications as set forth in Article 40, Subsection 2(A). In a multi-center building, an employee laid off will be allowed on the next working day to replace the least senior employee in that classification within the building. Employees on layoff, as outlined in Section 26 of the Southwest Package Rider, shall have the option to work in another center in the immediate area prior to hiring. For the purposes of this adden- dum the immediate area shall be defined as within one hundred (100) miles of the facility in which the employee is laid off. Inasmuch as the past Labor Agreements between the Employer and the Union have recognized xxxxxx parents as members of the em- ployee’s immediate family they will continue to be considered as such.
DISABILITY AND SICK LEAVE. Eligible seniority employees are entitled to six (6) sick days instead of seven (7) sick days. One sick day was converted to a floating holiday. Time and one-half (1 1/2) the regular straight-time rate shall be paid for all work performed in excess of eight (8) hours in any one day and on the sixth (6th) day worked with double-time (2X) paid for all Sunday work. All premium days shall be subject to the min- imums provided elsewhere in the Southwest Package Rider. Should the Company place a Sunday sort into operation, those employees working Sunday as part of their normal work week would be ex- cluded from this agreement. Openings and or vacancies shall be posted for bid. Such bid shall be by classification and first bid within the facility where the vacancy exists. Such bids shall remain posted for five (5) working days. Once the previous step has been exhausted, and prior to filling any vacancies from the outside, the Company shall offer the newly cre- ated or permanently vacated position to all automotive and mainte- xxxxx mechanics within the jurisdiction of Teamsters Local 631. Thereafter, the Company shall fill such vacancies from other current employees in other classifications who qualify for the available po- sition within the jurisdiction of Teamsters Local 631. If the Compa- ny still cannot fill the vacancy, they will fill the position from the outside. An automotive or maintenance mechanic who transfers to another location shall retain their Company seniority for the purpose of fringe benefits but shall be placed at the bottom of the seniority list for the purpose of layoff, rehire, bid and the selection of vacation within the jurisdiction of Teamsters Local 631. After one (1) year, their seniority shall be dove-tailed. Automotive and maintenance mechanics who transfer to another location within the jurisdiction of Teamsters Local 631 shall be required to remain in that new location for a period of one (1) year from the date of the transfer before they are eligible to utilize this transfer language again. It is understood that the Employer shall not be responsible for any costs associated with an employee transfer unless it falls under the guidelines of Ar- ticle 38 of the National Master Agreement. Automotive mechanics will continue utilizing the annual bidding process.
DISABILITY AND SICK LEAVE. 1. Disability leave, shall be provided for all members of the Washington Law Enforcement Officers’ and Firefighters’ Retirement System in accordance with the laws of the State of Washington in effect on the date of the signing of this agreement, or which become effective during the life of this agreement. a. The employer shall provide members hired after October 1, 1977 (LEOFF II personnel) with disability insurance (known as the Premier plan through WACOPS) as currently provided through the Washington Council of Police and Sheriffs for the members. Eighty percent (80%) of the monthly premiums for the Premier plan shall be paid by the Employer and twenty percent (20%) of the monthly premium shall be deducted from the employee’s monthly salary. The employee shall pay 100% of the additional premium (the difference between the total premium for the Premier plan and the total premium for the Premier Plus plan) for enrolling in the Premier Plus plan. b. Employees who are injured on-the-job shall be entitled to receive a disability leave payment from the City equal to the employee’s base rate of pay for a maximum of fourteen (14) calendar days following date of injury, or the number of days ordered, in writing, off work by the physician, whichever is less. This disability payment will be considered “kept on salary” by the Department of Labor and Industries and, therefore, the employee will not be entitled to time loss benefits from L&I for days the disability leave payment is made. c. Absence after fourteen (14) calendar days following the date of injury for an on-the- job injury covered by the Department of Labor and Industries may be charged to any of the injured employee’s paid leave banks or to unpaid leave at the discretion of the injured employee. The injured employee’s choice of the type of leave will be noted on the employee’s timesheet. d. Employees using paid leave and simultaneously receiving compensation from the Department of Labor and Industries shall receive sick leave buy-back and the LEOFF II disability leave supplement as provided for in City policies and RCW 41.04.500-550. 2. Those members of the Union entering the Law Enforcement Officers’ and Firefighters’ Retirement System after October 1, 1977, shall be entitled to accrue eight and one half (8.5) hours of sick leave per month, and that portion of said sick leave not used shall be accumulated to the employee’s credit up to one thousand forty (1040) hours.
