PAID HOLIDAYS AND VACATIONS. 22.1 Holiday and Holiday Pay – The following shall be paid holidays: New Year’s Day Civic Holiday Good Friday Labour Day Thanksgiving Day Victoria Day Christmas Day Canada Day Boxing Day Plus any day proclaimed by the Federal Government as a public holiday. a) In addition to the holidays listed above, employees may be eligible for up to two (2) Personal Floater Days per calendar year. Eligibility to Personal Floater Days is determined as follows: - Any new employee is eligible to two (2) Personal Floater Days if actively at work for at least 9 months in the calendar year; - Any new employee is eligible to one (1) Personal Floater Day if actively at work for at least 3 months but less than 9 months in the calendar year; - Any new employee is not eligible to Personal Floater Days if actively at work for less than 3 months in the calendar year. b) Personal floater days not taken during the calendar year cannot be carried over to the next calendar year and are forfeited. When one of the holidays listed above falls on a Saturday or Sunday and another week day is proclaimed a holiday by the Federal or Provincial Government, the Saturday or Sunday shall be deemed to be the holiday for the purposes of this Agreement, except for those employees who regularly work Monday through Friday, in which case the proclaimed day shall be the holiday. Employees who for personal or religious reasons wish to observe a holiday other than the above listed paid holidays may, upon reasonable advance written notice (3 weeks), request that one of the paid holidays, or the floating holiday, be considered as a normal working day and that another day be substituted and that the substituted holiday shall be treated as a paid holiday for the purposes of this Agreement.

PAID HOLIDAYS AND VACATIONS. 27.01 All employees will receive one (1) day’s pay at the rate of their position for each of the following statutory holidays with the paid holiday pay to be based on the applicable hours times the hourly rate or averaging per Employment Standards Act, whichever is greater: New Year’s Day Civic Holiday Good Friday Thanksgiving Day Victoria Day Christmas Day Dominion Day Boxing Day Afternoon of the last regularly scheduled working day before Christmas Day. 27.02 Employees required to work on any of the above statutory holidays except Christmas Day, will be paid at the rate of double time (two times the hourly rate or pro rata rate) plus the regular day’s pay for the holiday. Employees required to work Christmas Day will be paid triple (3x) times (three times the hourly or pro rata rate). 27.03 When any of the above mentioned holidays falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the day observed by the government shall be considered the holiday unless agreed to otherwise by mutual agreement between the parties.. 27.04 To receive pay for any of the above mentioned holidays, an employee must have worked his regularly scheduled hours on the day immediately prior to and following the day of the holiday, unless granted specific leave of absence for such days. 27.05 If a holiday falls within the period of an employee’s vacation, the Employer will grant another day off with pay, by mutual agreement with the employee concerned. Failing mutual agreement the day may be banked and used as sick leave at some future time. 27.06 An employee shall not receive pay for the holiday if he/she has agreed to work on such holiday and fails to report without reasonable cause.
PAID HOLIDAYS AND VACATIONS. 11.01 Regular employees shall receive the following holidays with pay providing they meet the eligibility requirements outlined in Article 11.
PAID HOLIDAYS AND VACATIONS. A. Employees who are on the payroll of School Bus Operations at the time when the holidays and vacation days listed below occur will be entitled to compensation for such days in an amount equal to their rate of compensation for their daily fixed route assignments. B. All eligible employees will be entitled to compensation on the following non-work days: C. In order to be eligible to receive holiday pay, a new employee must have completed thirty (30) days of actual work and all employees must have worked their complete a.m. and p.m. package immediately before and immediately after the holiday. D. All eligible employees will be entitled to fifteen (15) vacation days per year. Vacation days will be paid for those employees working a regular schedule. Any employee on an unpaid leave of absence will receive a prorated amount of vacation pay in the succeeding year. E. All eligible employees after five (5) full years of service in the Pittsfield Public Schools will be paid vacation benefits according to TABLE I. A full school year will be considered as long as the employee begins work on or before October 1. F. New employees will receive 1.5 vacation days for every 18 days worked during the first year for use in the succeeding school year up to a total of fifteen (15) days to be paid during school vacation/break periods. Vacation days are paid during school vacation/break periods.

PAID HOLIDAYS AND VACATIONS. All members of the bargaining unit are entitled to paid holidays and vacations as shown below: The vacation schedule of twelve (12) month employees will be: At the completion of one (1) year of service (Anniversary date) - two (2) weeks. At the completion of five (5) years of service (Anniversary date) - three (3) weeks. At the completion of ten (10) years of service (Anniversary date) - four (4) weeks. All employees scheduled to work less than twelve (12) months will have their vacation prorated. Vacation days are credited to the employee at the end of each anniversary date. Employees will generally work the same days as their immediate supervisor. All members of the bargaining unit shall be entitled to vacation according to the above vacation schedule. Employee vacations will be taken at a time set by mutual agreement with their immediate supervisor. Employees terminating employment shall receive a prorated vacation allowance for each month or major fraction thereof between his/her anniversary date and his/her termination date. The following holidays will be taken for holiday pay purposes if they fall within the normal work year: July 4th Labor Day Thanksgiving Day Day after Thanksgiving
PAID HOLIDAYS AND VACATIONSSection 1. Each regular full-time Bus Driver shall receive regular run pay for the holidays listed below, provided: A. On the date of the holiday, the employee has been on the payroll for at least forty-five (45) driving days and has completed the probationary period. B. The employee has worked scheduled hours the entire day on the last day scheduled for his/her classification prior to the holiday, and first day for his/her classification after the holiday, unless the District granted a personal business day for emergency purposes, or such failure was excused due to accident, sickness or other similar causes, or unless the holiday fell during the employee's scheduled vacation period such as Christmas. Section 2. The holidays covered in this Article are: If a paid holiday falls on Sunday, the Drivers will receive the pay for the Monday schedule of regular hours. If the paid holiday falls on Saturday, the Drivers will receive the pay for the Friday schedule of regular hours. Section 3. Bus Drivers will earn one (1) day of vacation for each full school year of service, up to a maximum of twelve (12) days vacation pay. For employees hired after September 1, 2008, vacation accumulation shall be up to a maximum of ten (10). Employees with three (3) or more year’s seniority may use their earned accumulated vacation days during the school year, up to a maximum of five (5) days, provided there are substitute Drivers available to cover. Unused vacation time will be paid at the end of the school year with the last pay period. Section 4. If the school year begins prior to Labor Day, Labor Day will become a paid holiday.

New Years Day Labour Day Family Day Thanksgiving Day Good Friday Christmas Day Easter Monday Boxing Day Victoria Day Four (4) additional days (including days in lieu of any other Statutory Holidays), to be observed during the Christmas School Break Period. The above four (4) additional days are deemed to be inclusive of Canada Day.
