Business Leave Bank. A. There is hereby created a Business Leave Bank for the sole and exclusive use of the Association. The Bank shall be administered and managed solely by the Association and subject to periodic audits by the Employer. Each audit shall be preceded by written notice, at least forty-eight (48) hours prior to the audit. Audits shall not be more frequent than twice each calendar year. The Employer shall provide the Association with a monthly statement reflecting, by name and amount, the additions and withdrawals and the current Business Leave account balance.

Business Leave Bank. The Guild will establish a business leave bank for Guild 9 activity. The bank hours shall be established through the deduction of vacation, compensatory or 10 holiday hours only (excluding probationary employees). The default deduction shall be from the 11 employee’s vacation bank unless another leave type is specified by the employee. Employees must 12 inform payroll within two (2) weeks of the notice from the Guild if they wish to have compensatory 13 time or holiday leave used. Notification to the employees of this option shall be the responsibility of 14 the Guild. Up to two (2) hours annually may be deducted from each employee’s leave account to 15 fund the leave bank. An employee who received a no-pay based on Guild leave bank deductions will 16 not be disciplined. The Employer agrees to administer the leave bank account, provided the Guild 17 has the sole discretion to determine who may use the business leave bank and under what 18 circumstances. The release of employees for Guild business leave shall not be unreasonably withheld 19 as long as the employee provides the Employer with a minimum of two (2) days of notice of intent to 20 use Guild leave, except in emergencies at the request of the Guild President with one (1) day of 21 notice. Members of the Guild Board, inclusive of shift representatives and executive officers, will 22 not be required to work mandatory overtime if doing so would prevent them from attending a Board 23 meeting scheduled pursuant to this section, unless a non-staffing related emergency is occurring. 24 Based on the current reimbursement process, an employee may use their accrued vacation, 25 compensatory, or holiday time off balances as Guild leave and then be reimbursed from the Guild 26 leave bank. An employee on approved Guild business leave shall not be subject to discipline for 27 going into a “no pay” status. Participating Guild members will not be required to use Guild leave to 28 attend Labor/Management meetings. 1 Section 2a. Business Leave Bank. The Employer and the Union will establish a business leave bank for use by eligible Union members for Union activities, not otherwise subject to paid release time. The bank hours shall be established through the donation of PTO hours by employees from their individual PTO leave bank. Employees are allowed to donate all PTO leave hours in their PTO bank in excess of eighty (80) hours to the Negotiations/Business Leave Bank. The Employer agrees to administer the leave bank account and provide monthly statements to the Union.

The Bank shall be administered and managed solely by the Unalaska Police Department Chapter of the Union and subject to periodic audits by the employer. Each audit shall be preceded by written notice, at least forty-eight (48) hours prior to the audit. Audits shall not be more frequent than twice each calendar year. The first eight (8) hours of accrued personal leave of all new Unalaska Police Department Bargaining Unit members shall be transferred to the Unalaska Police Department Chapter Leave Bank. Any additional leave transfers shall be in no less than one-hour increments. Upon request from the Union Business Manager, the Employer shall transfer from one (1) to eight (8) hours from each bargaining unit member’s personal leave account to the Chapter Leave Bank. The Union agrees that it will not use the Leave Bank for any purposes other than bona fide Chapter business. Requests for absence from duty for Business Leave shall be made by the President of the Unalaska Police Department Chapter or the Union Business Manager and addressed to the appropriate City Administrator as designated in writing by the Employer. Each request will state specifically the purpose of the absence. Requests for absences for Unalaska Police Department Chapter business shall not be unreasonably denied. The Union agrees that it will not use the Leave Bank for any purposes other than bona fide Union business. The Union further agrees that the Leave Bank balance is not returnable to the personal leave accounts, not transferable to successor bargaining agents, and has no cash value upon decertification.

  • Business Leave Each teacher shall be allowed five (5) days per year non-accumulative, deducted from sick leave allowance, for employee absence due to emergency, business, professional, household, or personal matters that cannot be attended to outside of working hours. Prior approval must be given by the administration with the exception of emergencies. The use of business leave will be allowed immediately preceding or following a school holiday, provided a substitute is available. In no instance shall more than two (2) teachers from Xxxx Xxxxx Middle School, two (2) teachers from College Place High School, and four (4) teachers from Xxxxx Elementary School be allowed business leave on the same day.

  • Association Business Leave A total of ten (10) days Association Business Leave shall be allowed by the district on condition that a competent qualified substitute employee is available and willing to serve. The designated representative of the Association and officers of the Association shall be allowed to take such leave for conducting Association Business or to attend state or local conferences. Substitutes hired by the District to cover such absences shall be paid for by the Association. At least five (5) normal business days advance notification of intent to take such leave shall be given to the Superintendent by the Association President.

  • Local Union Business Leave The Hospital agrees to grant leaves of absence without pay to local bargaining unit members for the purpose of attending Union seminars and/or attending to Union business. The cumulative total leave of absence will be determined locally, but shall not exceed sixty (60) days per year per hospital. The amount of notice required and the number of employees who may be absent at any one time and from any one area shall be determined locally and will be set out in the Local Provisions Appendix.

Eligibility for Extended Illness Leave includes completion of employee’s probationary period.

  • Witness Leave A regular, limited-term or probationary employee who is called to answer a subpoena as a witness for court appearances during the employee's work hours, except where the employee is a litigant, shall be compensated at his or her regular rate of pay for all hours of absence from work due to answering the subpoena provided the employee shows proof of such subpoena and deposits witness fees received for such hours, exclusive of mileage, with the County Treasurer. Fees for answering a subpoena as a witness during hours other than regularly scheduled working hours may be retained by the employee.
