TEACHERS’ HOURS. A. The teachers’ hours shall be in accordance with Schedule G.
B. Teachers shall remain ten (10) minutes after students are dismissed. All elementary teachers shall report to work at least 5 minutes prior to the start of their instructional day. All teachers in grades 6-8 shall report to work at least 15 minutes prior to the start of their instructional day. All teachers in grades 9-12 shall report to work at least 10 minutes prior to the start of their instructional day.
C. Each kindergarten session shall be in accordance with Schedule G. At the end of the half- day morning session, kindergarten students who are waiting for parent rides shall be taken to the office to wait after the other kindergarten students are loaded on the buses.
D. No teacher shall be required to be at school more than seven (7) hours and eighteen (18) minutes (consecutive), except in case of special events as specified herein or in emergency situations.
TEACHERS’ HOURS. A. The teachers' hours shall be as follows: The above teachers' hours may be altered in order to meet the bus schedules and/or modified school days.
B. A maximum of eighteen (l8) Mondays per school year will be used for principal or curriculum meetings, except the Monday preceding the regularly scheduled Board Meeting which shall be designated for an Association meeting. Staff meetings shall be no longer than forty (40) minutes and shall conclude no later than forty (40) minutes from the end of the teacher work day. Upon mutual agreement of the principal and the majority of the staff members, the forty (40) minute staff meetings may be held before school but not sooner than forty (40) minutes prior to the start of the teacher work day. Building meeting day may be altered by mutual consent of the building representative and principal. Ten (10) minutes at every elementary school staff meeting shall be dedicated to completing composite sheets and filing assessments. Upon mutual agreement of the principal and the majority of the staff members, the allotted ten (10) minutes from two or more meetings may be combined and used in a single meeting. The Association will encourage teachers to attend Mothers' Club activities and open houses and such attendance shall be without compensation, except as otherwise set forth in Schedules B1 and B2 of the Agreement. Parent-teacher conferences as set forth in the calendar may be held at night, at the option of the principal, and all teachers shall attend. No parent-teacher conferences will be held on a Friday night. If parent-teacher conferences are held at night, teachers will be granted released time on the days of the parent-teacher conferences during the regular school day equivalent to the time scheduled for the night session of the parent-teacher conferences. The Association will encourage probationary teachers to attend any meetings with the Secondary and/or Elementary Coordinators for in-service training, evaluation, or for other matters, which meetings may be scheduled during non-school hours. The Association will encourage teachers to attend curriculum meetings, department meetings, and grade level meetings outside the normal workday. TEACHERS’ HOURS. The regular school day for teachers shall be no more than seven (7) hours and thirty (30) minutes, including an uninterrupted, daily, duty-free lunch period of at least thirty (30) minutes. Exceptions may be made to such duty-free lunch period by the teacher’s principal in case of emergency.
15-1 1 Teacher planning time is to be used for instructional planning and other instructionally related purposes. Planning time shall be scheduled during the student contact day. Such planning time shall be exclusive of teacher lunchtime and assigned duties before and after school. The planning minutes per week shall be adjusted proportionately for weeks which are not full instructional weeks.
15-1 1-1 Preschool and pre-Kindergarten classrooms shall have at least forty-five (45) consecutive minutes of individual teacher-directed planning and preparation each day, Monday through Thursday, each day consisting of an eight (8) hour contract day. Contract time will equal no more than seventy-five (75) hours within a two-week period. Fridays will be dedicated to professional learning, professional development/mandatory trainings, staffing, student testing, all associated reporting, and limited individual plan time, as indicated as follows. A total of three and one-half (3.5) hours Friday plan time will be given in an eight (8) week period.

8-1 1 The work day for teachers shall be eight (8) hours and forty five minutes (8:45) four (4) days per week excluding the lunch period plus five (5) seven (7) hour in-service days and two (2) parent-teacher conference days. Those teachers who have coaching duties will use the time after the end of the student day to perform their coaching duties, unless other circumstances change the normal schedule. Lunch duty is paid duty. Those teachers wishing to participate will be paid at the rate of twenty dollars ($20.00) per hour. Lunch duty will be offered to teachers first and will be assigned and rotated on an equitable basis among those teachers wishing to participate. If there are not enough volunteers, the District may assign paid duty to the remaining teachers on an equitable, rotating basis. (Modified 2015) 8-1-2 The teachers’ duty-free lunch period shall be uninterrupted except when emergencies and/or scheduled special events make it necessary to alter a teacher’s assignment. Teachers shall request permission from the Principal before leaving school grounds for non-job-related activities except during a lunch period when the teacher is not on lunch duty, self-imposed duty, or there is not an emergency that requires the teacher’s help. Permission to leave shall not be unreasonably withheld.

TEACHERS’ HOURS.
7-1 Teachers on 5 day work weeks shall be required to work at the school premises a regular workday of seven (7) hours, not including the lunch period. Teachers on 4 day work weeks shall be required to work at the school premises a regular workday of 8.5 hours, not including the lunch period. A. The daily starting and departure time for teachers shall be set in each school by the principal in accordance with duty schedules or when students are present and supervision is necessary. Any teacher required to perform a duty prior to the regular school day will be allowed an early departure time that same day so the length of the workday is consistent with a regular day in Article 7-1.
7-1 1 Teachers, as necessary, may be required to report earlier and/or remain longer to attend general faculty meetings and special meetings when called by the Superintendent or the building administrator. Mandatory meetings, workshops, programs, committee meetings, open houses, educational fairs, parent engagement nights and other school-sponsored activities during which they have responsibilities outside the workday shall not exceed seven (7) hours per school month. 7-1 2 The responsibility of the teacher to be available for conferences with parents is recognized as a teacher's professional responsibility and shall be encouraged by the Association. Teachers are expected to be available to parents and students for consultation before and/or after the first and/or last regularly scheduled class or preparation period.

a. Each teacher shall be furnished with a telephone number and/or online website to call to report unavailability for work. A teacher shall report such unavailability before 6:00 AM unless the reason for such unavailability shall arise after such time or extenuating circumstances shall make it impossible for the teacher to follow such procedure.
2. The Superintendent and the Association President will create a small group that will make future recommendations regarding the structure, function and implementation of teacher meetings. If provisions of the Revised School Code or the State School Aid Act requires increased hours, the parties agree to comply by extending teacher/student instructional time.
3. Building principals can schedule up to nine (9) staff meetings throughout the school year. These meetings can be scheduled immediately before or after school for up to fifty minutes in length. Building principals will be required to schedule and submit an itinerary for the meeting, at least three days in advance. Any teachers unable to meet will be responsible for materials and information missed. When necessary, a special meeting in place of the regular meeting may be called by the Superintendent with the approval of the Association President.
4. Dismissal time during inclement weather will be after bus departure.
