Vacancies and Posting. A. When the Board determines to fill a vacancy created by death, resignation, retirement, termination, nonrenewal, transfer, or promotion of an employee, or when the Board creates a new bargaining unit position, it will post notice of said vacancy as provided below. All postings will include salary range, hours and the responsibilities of the position. B. All bargaining unit positions will be posted on the Board of Education page on the District Web Site for five (5) workdays, and sent, via email notification to all bargaining unit members. Members desiring to bid for any such vacancy will do so within five (5) days of the posting. C. All applicants applying for a given job are responsible for including with their bid all relevant experience, as well as all educational criteria they deem relevant to the posted position, to the Board. Within ten (10) days of the closing of the posting period, applicants will be notified as to whether they are deemed qualified to warrant an interview. The decision to interview any or all applicants is within the exclusive jurisdiction of the Board or its designee. D. The Board reserves the right to select the most qualified applicant for the position who demonstrates he/she possesses the qualifications to perform the job at the time of the interview. In the event two (2) or more bargaining unit member applicants have relatively equal qualifications, then the most senior applicant shall be awarded the position. If no member applies during the posting period, or no current member applicant is deemed most qualified, then the position may be filled from the outside. Applicants not chosen for the position will be notified prior to any public announcement of the filling of the position.

Vacancies and Posting. Except as otherwise provided herein, job postings to fill new or vacant budgeted full or part-time bargaining unit positions shall be distributed via e-mail and available on the County intra/internet. Departments without access to electronic communications will receive a hard copy of the announcement for posting on employee bulletin boards. Employees interested in positions in specific classifications must follow the posting procedures. The filing period shall be a minimum of ten (10) working days unless otherwise agreed. Such notice shall include the classification, salary, description of the duties of the position, qualifications, knowledge, skills and abilities and selection process. Only qualified candidates who apply within the established filing period will receive consideration for such vacancies. When filling vacancies or promotional opportunities, the goal is to encourage growth and opportunity for advancement and to hire the most qualified candidate for the position.

Vacancies and Posting a) A vacancy for a Position of Responsibility shall exist when either a new position is required or the incumbent is promoted, permanently transferred to another position, seconded, dies, resigns from teaching, retires or is on leave of absence. b) Where a vacancy occurs as described in Article 9.02 (a) and there is a full teaching timetable available, the vacancy shall be advertised within the system as provided for in Article 22. c) Notwithstanding the above, if there is not a full teaching timetable with the Position of Responsibility, the vacancy shall not be posted if it is to be filled internally in the school. If no posting occurs, the vacancy shall be advertised internally in the school for a period of two (2) school days. The vacancy shall be filled from internal applicants in an acting capacity for the period of the vacancy up until the end of the school year. d) When the vacancy is the result of an illness or death, the Position of Responsibility shall be filled within four (4) weeks of the commencement of the absence. When the vacancy is the result of a leave of absence, a transfer, a secondment or a resignation, the Position of Responsibility shall be filled from the commencement of the vacancy. e) Vacancies for Resource Teacher, Consultant and Coordinator positions shall be advertised within the system, prior to external advertising taking place.
Vacancies and Posting a) An occasional teacher will be hired to fill vacancies as provided for by the Education Act and regulations except where the vacancy is identified in advance as existing for an entire school year. b) Following the placement of surplus teachers and consideration of voluntary transfers submitted by February 15, the Board shall post vacant positions subject to the provisions of Article 29.03 (a) and (c). c) The Board shall post electronically all vacancies which are identified prior to June 22 effective for September 1 of the following school year and those identified on or before November 30 effective for January 1 of that school year except those vacancies where an Occasional Teacher is used in accordance with the Education Act and regulations as per Article 29.03 (a). The Board shall not be required to post any subsequent vacancy as a result of the initial posting of the vacancy which was identified on or before November 30 for effect January 1. Vacancies and Posting. 13.01 In selecting a candidate to fill a regular part-time vacancy which the University wishes to fill in the bargaining unit, the University shall consider: (a) the skill, ability and qualifications of the individual to perform the requirements of the job in a competent manner and the capability of the individual to assume responsibility; (b) the seniority ranking of the employees affected. 13.02 When in the judgement of the University, which shall not be exercised in a discriminatory manner, the factor (a) is equal as between two or more employees, then and only then shall factor (b)

Vacancies and Posting. During the school year, the District shall post vacancies (including new positions), in each school building. During the summer months, notice shall be posted at the District Office and copies sent to all employees who make a request in writing, on a form provided by the employer (Appendix D). Posting shall be for no less than five days. The District may waive the 5 day posting in emergency situations with Association approval in writing prior to advertising the position. Notice shall clearly set forth the qualifications for the position and the procedure for applying. All vacancies and new positions shall be filled on the basis of qualifications for the position which best meet the needs of the District program. Present employees who apply will be given consideration. Applying employees shall be notified when the position is filled.

Principals must interview two (2) contracted or probationary employees for each vacancy, provided at least two apply. 5. Members on a Plan of Assistance or Plan of Awareness are not eligible to apply for vacancies. 6. To be considered, applications for a posted vacancy must be received by the Human Resource Department before the vacancy posting closes. Employees may apply for specific vacancies through August 30; however, after August 15, the employee must have the concurrence of the building principal. 7. An employee who files timely applications for such vacancies will be given consideration along with other qualified applicants. However, the principal must interview at least two
