VACANCIES/POSTINGS. 13.1 All job openings and newly created jobs within the bargaining unit shall be posted listing the specific minimum requirements for the position for a period of five (5) working days in a conspicuous place in each school facility prior to filling such position.
13.2 Employees interested in the vacancy shall apply in writing within the posting period.
13.3 In the event two or more applicants apply for the same vacancy and merit, ability, and capacity are equal, the Board shall appoint the individual having the greatest seniority to the position.
13.4 If an employee’s request for a transfer is granted, he must remain in the position for at least one (1) calendar year or work year whichever is lesser and providing he successfully completes his break-in period.
13.5 A leave of absence for less than six (6) months shall not be considered a vacancy.
VACANCIES/POSTINGS.
A. Whenever a bargaining unit vacancy is authorized to be filled, it will be first offered on a seniority basis, within 30 days, to those full-time officers at the campus where the vacancy occurs; any resulting vacancies shall be posted college wide and filled based on seniority.
B. During the pendency of the vacancy, coverage will be offered to full-time officers at the campus based on seniority.
C. After a vacancy is authorized to be filled, the College shall form a screening committee in accordance with the College’s established hiring practices. The committee will be comprised of one or two Lieutenants, the Union President or designee, and up to two additional individuals named by the Director. The primary goal of the committee is to identify the most qualified applicants for the position and recommend finalists to the Director.
D. In the event of a vacancy or a newly created position, Employees who meet the qualifications of the position shall be given the opportunity to request transfer on the basis of seniority. In such cases, all vacancies and newly created positions shall be posted on the College’s intranet (InfoMart) at least seven
VACANCIES/POSTINGS. All job vacancies that are approved (excluding temporary situations which are covered by Article 19) will be posted for a period of seven (7) regularly scheduled working days on the College’s intranet (Infomart). The job postings shall set forth job classifications, shifts, regional work sites, location, work hours, work days and if full-time or part-time. Shift preference shall be offered according to Article 15 prior to posting a position. Interested employees shall apply within the posting period. The employees bidding for the job shall file their bid form, résumé and current copy of their transcripts electronically to the “HR mailbox”. The employee should retain a copy of the bid form for his/her file. While in the process of filling a vacant position, the employer will have the option of temporarily filling the position in accordance with Article 19. While posting and filling a non-temporary vacant position within the bargaining unit, a non-bargaining unit temporary or temporarily transferred Classified employee may remain in the position until filled either internally or externally. Bargaining unit vacancies shall be filled from among those internal applicants who meet the minimum qualifications as posted. The College shall interview and choose from among the six (6) most senior qualified applicants for the position. The College will select the best qualified applicant from among those candidates based on factors including job related training, education, experience and skills, as well as attendance and prior disciplinary action. Written reprimands issued more than two (2) years prior to the posting date shall not be considered. Probationary employees shall be considered as external applicants when applying for vacancies. A list of all qualified internal bidders, including degrees earned, must be forwarded to the Union President at the time the list is sent to the supervisor. The Employer shall notify the Local Union President when there have been no bids or no qualified internal candidates for a posting. This applies to both temporary and regular postings. If the most senior qualified applicant is denied the position, the disqualified employee may request and will receive the reasons for denial in writing from the Human Resources Department. VACANCIES/POSTINGS. When the Board determines that a vacancy arises in the custodial area, the superintendent may fill the opening either through an internal posting or use of a custodial contracting firm. If filled through internal posting, 1) the superintendent shall notify the designated representative and post notice of same in each building and 2) no vacancy shall be filled, except in case of emergency, on a temporary basis, until such vacancy has been posted for at least five (5) school days or one (1) calendar week if school is not in session.

No vacancy shall be filled, except in case of emergency, on a temporary basis, until such vacancy has been posted for at least five (5) school days or one (1) calendar week of school is not in session.
VACANCIES/POSTINGS. Transfers – All new or open positions will be posted for five (5) days prior to filling the position. If filling the vacancy from existing employees, the supervisor will consider past work performance, ability to get along with other employees and students, training, attendance, and ability of the employee.
VACANCIES/POSTINGS. 1. When a vacancy occurs in a position covered by this contract, the Superintendent with input from principals shall determine qualifications for the position.
2. All postings of vacancies shall include the following statement: The applicant should be aware that, if she/he is successful and is moving into another district, this transfer will result in the loss of Professional Teacher Status and seniority for purposes of the Reduction in Staff provision of the collective bargaining agreement.
3. The position will be posted in all teachers' lounges and workrooms, and in the central office for at least five (5) school days during the work year and ten (10) calendar days during the summer. Posting and public advertisement may take place simultaneously.
4. Qualified and interested currently employed teachers may apply for a transfer during the posting period. Applicants for transfer will always be interviewed for the position and will be notified of the principal/Superintendent's decision as to their transfer request, and if denied, the reason for the denial, before any outside candidates are interviewed and considered for the position.
5. If the position remains unfilled after consideration of the transfer requests of currently employed teachers, a currently employed teacher, including a teacher who requested a transfer, may still apply for the vacancy and be considered and interviewed along with applicants from outside the school system.
6. Diversity and multi-cultural goals shall be considered in making all hiring decisions.
VACANCIES/POSTINGS. (a) Vacancies are defined as those teaching positions within the bargaining unit which may become available due to attrition, growth, transfer or newly created positions.
(b) The Board shall post a list of vacancies in a timely manner.
(c) For vacancies effective September of the following school year:
(i) For vacancies that are posted prior to May 1st, the Board shall first fill positions from the recall list in accordance with article 15.03 and then according to the transfer processes defined in articles 12.01, 12.02 and 12.03.
(ii) In the event of unfilled vacancies or vacancies that arise after May 1st (subject to article 15.03), the Board shall hire to fill the vacancy. For vacancies that are filled after April 30th and before September 1st, the Board will post said vacancies for the following school year by May 1st.
(d) For vacancies that must be filled during the current school year; the Board shall first fill positions from the recall list in accordance with article 15.03. In the event that there are no Teachers on the recall list, the Board may hire to fill the vacancy for the remainder of the school year and then post said vacancies for the following school year by May 1st.

VACANCIES/POSTINGS. 6.13.1 Whenever any vacancy related to the Association shall occur in any position in the Xxxxxx Central School District, the Superintendent shall provide appropriate postings on the bulletin boards of the main office in each building. A vacancy shall not be filled until it has been posted for a minimum of five (5) days prior to the last day on which applications will be accepted. The District and the Association may agree to reduce or waive the posting time.
6.13.2 Vacancies shall be filled on the basis of the qualifications as determined by the administration, provided, that where two or more applicants are equally qualified, seniority in the Xxxxxx School System shall be the determining factor.
