Authorized Absences. A. Unless otherwise indicated in this Agreement, all leave for all hourly paid employees shall be available in minute increments. For employees exempt from wage and hour requirements, leave must be taken in half- day or full-day increments.
B. Employees must call the proper department supervisor or director/principal or designee for any absence other than pre-approved leave.
A. Regular full-time support employees shall accrue paid sick leave at a maximum of one (1) day per month of employment. Regular part-time employees shall accrue paid sick leave based on the primary job assignment as per the HR100 on file in the Human Resources Department. Employees who hold more than one regular part-time assignment may accrue sick leave in both assignments up to a maximum of eight (8) hours per day. Xxxx leave will accrue from July 1 through the following June 30. An employee’s initial hire date is used to determine the number of days of sick leave available during the first year. The support employee may only utilize sick leave due to (1) personal accidental injury, illness or pregnancy, or (2) accidental injury or illness in the immediate family.
B. The immediate family shall be defined as the employee's spouse, child (including xxxxxx children, children of guardianship, or legal dependents), mother, father, or any family member residing in the immediate household. Accumulated sick leave may also be used for the serious illness of a sibling, grandparent, or grandchild.
X. Xxxx leave shall accumulate up to 120 days (plus current school year’s accrual) for full-time employees. For accumulation purposes, one (1) day equals up to 8 hours for full-time employees based on regular work schedule as per the HR100. Part-time employees shall accumulate sick leave for a proportionately equal number of hours up to a maximum of up to 690 hours. On June 30 of each year, any sick leave balance exceeding the maximum will be reduced to 120 days for full-time employees and 690 hours for part-time employees. If an employee transfers from full-time to part-time, he/she will forfeit sick leave in excess of maximum accrual for part-time employees. Sick leave may be taken in one- (1) minute increments.
D. After all accumulated sick leave and other available paid leave has been exhausted, the support employee may qualify for a medical leave of absence as per Policy 5.10.

Authorized Absences. No employees shall be absent from duty during their regular working hours except when properly authorized to do so, in accordance with this MOU, the Rules and Regulations of this Department and of the Board of Civil Service Commissioners.

Authorized Absences. Ⓐ A long-term substitute teacher may be absent up to two consecutive duty days for illness. Beginning with the third month of continuous service in the same as- signment, long-term substitute teachers working full- time shall accrue paid leave for personal illness, at the rate of one day per month. Regular part-time, long-term substitutes shall accrue leave for personal illness in pro- portion to the assignment. Leave shall accumulate as long as the substitute remains in the same long-term assignment. A certificate by a physician confirming the necessity for the substitute’s absence due to illness, injury, or quarantine may be requested. X X xxxx-term substitute may be absent without pay and without interruption of the long-term status for the fol- lowing reasons:
Authorized Absences. 1. When unable to work for any reason the employee shall call the answering tape at the Administration Building and shall also contact the dispatcher in the Transportation Garage and shall state the reason for the absence. The employee shall provide the dispatcher or tape with the following information: Daily assignment and any trips for that day or days.
Authorized Absences. All employees are entitled to sick leave with full pay for personal illness of fifteen (15) days annually not including absences covered by Worker's Compensation.
1. Sick leave may be used in the following cases:
a. personal illness or physical incapacity;
b. enforced quarantine of an employee in accordance with the community health regulations;
c. emergency dental or medical appointments or other sickness prevention measures, provided it is not possible to arrange an appointment at a time when the employee is off-duty.
2. Unused sick leave may be accumulated from year to year up to a total of two hundred (200) days as long as the employee remains continuously in the service of the Board. All accumulated leave shall be determined annually as of July 1 of each year.
3. New employees shall be granted a proportionate number of sick leave days from the date of employment to July 1. An employee who terminates or is terminated (exclusive of lay off because of staff reduction) in the course of the work year shall be deducted a proportionate number of sick leave days from the date of termination to July 1.
4. a. If requested by the Superintendent or his designee, an employee shall provide a certificate from his/her physician confirming that his/her absence is or has been due to illness when the employee has been absent five (5) or more consecutive workdays or ten (10) or more nonconsecutive workdays within one work year.
Authorized Absences.
A. Jury Duty. Faculty members shall receive time off for required appearances in court or hearings resulting from a call to jury duty or subpoena to appear to testify where the faculty member is not personally involved in the action as the plaintiff, the defendant, or the object of the investigation.
B. Professional Meetings and Conferences. Faculty members may be granted approval for attendance at official institutes, conferences, and/or professional meetings. The purposes of such attendance must be to add to the professional capabilities in the field in which the faculty member is hired and working. Neither students nor the faculty member’s regular duties shall suffer unduly or disproportionately to the benefits anticipated from the activity.
C. The prior approval for professional development will be granted equitably, and when prior approve has been granted, it will not be arbitrarily revoked.
D. Public Testimony. Faculty members shall be granted approval to give public testimony connected to their official duties as a College employee when requested to do so by a governmental agency, to include the legislature, administrative and/or judicial bodies. Faculty members must provide the appropriate supporting documentation to the College’s Human Resources Office. Appropriate documentation could include letterhead, email, faxes, or other confirming documentation of the agency’s request.
Authorized Absences. Ada County Sheriff’s deputies acting pursuant to this Agreement may be absent from their assigned School campuses on holidays observed by Ada County, as well as holidays observed by the District, in addition to sick leave time and authorized vacation time or training. For authorized absences, an SRO is not required to provide notice to the Schools.
