Extra-Curricular Compensation. The wages and salaries reflected in Addendum B attached hereto, shall be effective for 2014-2017 school years for extra-curricular compensation. 9.1.1 A committee will be appointed annually for the purpose of evaluation information and making recommendations to the negotiating teams in the area of extra duty stipends. Final determination of any adjustment will be decided during the negotiations process. The committee will hold an initial meeting by the first Wednesday in October with the members appointed by the bargaining unit and the members appointed by the District Superintendent. It will be the responsibility of the Superintendent to call the meeting. 9.1.2 The committee shall represent the entire spectrum of the student activity program. Membership will include representatives of each of the following: Music, performing arts, and speech (1), female sport (1), male sport (1), and additional KEA members (2), these five members all to be appointed by the bargaining agent for the teachers. Additionally, one school board member, the Activities Directors from high schools, a middle school administrator, and the human resource office or another member of the central office administration, will be appointed by the District Superintendent. 9.1.3 Initiation of action for possible adjustment to the extra-duty stipend index can be made by the committee, the extra-duty personnel involved, or by the School District administration. In the case of the latter two parties, this will be done by serving written notification of a request for adjustment and a committee must be made prior to the third Tuesday in January for the current school year. 9.1.4 The Extra-Duty Stipend index, Addendum B, that is part of this Comprehensive Agreement will remain in effect each year unless adjusted through the committee hearing procedure. If in a non- negotiating year, the board will have final approval of the recommendations.

Extra-Curricular Compensation. A salary schedule for Extra-Curricular Program assignments and compensation shall be incorporated into this agreement as “Appendix B”. The extra-curricular salary schedule shall receive any future salary adjustment applied to the certificated salary scheduleAppendix A”. Compensation for extra-curricular activities which are not covered by the salary schedule, except for extended day activities, shall be negotiated by the Association and the District. Extended day activities shall be paid at the District hourly rate.
Extra-Curricular Compensation. Extra-curricular compensation shall be paid to teachers in accordance with the schedules attached hereto and incorporated as Appendix B. Extra-Curricular Compensation. A. Extra-curricular activities at all levels shall be compensated as follows: 1. Any unit member may apply for any extra-curricular position; any unit member may refuse to participate in any extra-curricular service. No person classified under administrative status shall be named advisor to any extra-curricular activity. The advisor/assistants for each activity shall be chosen from the applicants by the building principal with the advice of the building representatives. 2. Primary consideration will be given to applicants within the building where the vacancy exists. Secondary consideration shall be given to teachers within the District but outside the building. 3. Applications for the following positions must be made by May 30th for consideration for the succeeding school year. Whenever possible, prior to the close of the school year, all applicants will receive a list of appointments. This shall not apply to a teacher hired after May 30th who receives an appointment after the close of the school year to an unfilled extra-curricular position for the following year. All extra- curricular positions shall be posted. B. Salaries for extra-curricular and co-curricular positions shall be paid in accordance with the schedule below. Weekly clubs shall meet a minimum of 28 times per year. Extra-Curricular Compensation. A. The salary schedule for extra-curricular activities is incorporated as presented in Appendix C. B. All percentages listed in the extra-curricular salary schedule (Appendix C) shall be limited to the first six years of continuous service and shall be applied to the appropriate level of the B.A. track. However, after three or more years of continuous service, a teacher will be allowed a one year break without interrupting continuous service. C. Positions on the extra curricular schedule shall normally be awarded for the following year by June 1. D. Should Parent-Teacher conferences be scheduled by the parties outside of the regular school day, requiring extra working time by teachers during that day, such time shall be paid at the rate of $30.00 per hour. E. Inservice or Professional Development activities outside of the regular school day, school week or school year and approved by the administration and teacher(s) shall be paid at the rate of $20.00 per hour for actual time spent at the activity. Such activities shall be limited to six (6) hours per day unless agreed otherwise by the parties.

Extra-Curricular Compensation. 1. The District will compensate for the Extra Duty Positions [Appendix B] as outlined in the Extra Duty Salary Schedule [Appendix C]. Successful applicants for head coach positions will be given credit for prior head coaching experience gained within the District or elsewhere. 2. Extra-curricular positions are to be at least 7 calendar days. 3. The District shall inform the Association of any proposed extra duty positions or any proposed modifications to existing positions. The pay rate for these positions shall be established by mutual agreement between the District and the Association. 4. The District retains the right to add or eliminate Extra Duty Positions for financial or programmatic reasons. Whenever added, the Extra Duty Pay Scale will be used. 5. Qualified employees who apply for coaching positions will be given interviews. Whenever a new head coach is hired for a sport, assistant coaching positions for the sport will be open with current assistant coaches given interviews should they apply. Employees who are equally qualified to coach a particular sport or activity will be given preference over applicants not in the association for all coaching positions.
Extra-Curricular Compensation. A. Teachers will be paid at a percentage for the number of consecutive years’ experience in any given extra-curricular activity. Teachers shall be paid according to their horizontal track of the salary schedule. (BA, BA+20, BA+30, MA, MA+15, MA+30). Should a step freeze occur to the salary scale in successor agreements, the parties understand that the Extra Curricular Compensation steps shall be frozen in the same manner. The teacher shall have the option of being paid or ½ pay on the first pay in December and the other ½ on the first pay in June, or teacher may opt to be paid at the end of a given activity. If the half-pay option or the end of the activity option is chosen, pay will be in a check separate from the teacher’s regular payroll check. Extra-Curricular Compensation. E.1. Extra-curricular compensation shall be paid to teachers who are given duties enumerated below. E.1.a. Each compensable assignment shall be described by a job description, including duties and responsibilities, term of assignment, and supervision. E.1.b. Teachers receiving supplemental pay for extra-curricular assignments which run for the full year shall be paid the same in three equal payments to be added to the said teacher's first pay in the months of November, February and June. In the event the extra-curricular assignment shall run for less than a full year, the payment to the teacher shall be upon completion of the assignment. E.1.c. Extra-curricular assignments will be posted, if possible, thirty (30) calendar days before the final date of application, but such assignments shall be made at the discretion of the principal and may be revoked for unsatisfactory performance, upon approval of the Superintendent. E.1.d. No assignment for one school year shall apply to the next year unless the principal recommends it. E.1.e. Teachers with paid assignments shall carry normal teaching loads. E.1.f. Contracts for paid additional assignments shall be issued by May 30th if feasible. E.1.g. Extra-curricular positions will be remunerated in accordance with the attached schedule. E.1.h.
