Overtime Rates of Pay. Overtime rates of pay are based on the Employee’s basic rate of pay, excluding hourly shift premiums.
Overtime Rates of Pay. Apprentices may only be offered overtime if one of the following conditions is met: The journeyperson the apprentice is assigned to is scheduled to work regular work or overtime work; The tasks the apprentice will be performing are covered under the Ont. Reg. 566/99 Exemptions; The apprentice can be brought in to perform the duties of a lesser classification, so long as employees on the same shift are either scheduled to work overtime or have had the opportunity to work overtime.) Overtime assignments within the apprentice group shall be that of shared opportunity priniciples contained within Article 22 of this Agreement. These terms will also apply to premium pay opportunities such as working holidays.
Overtime Rates of Pay. For the purposes of overtime, a day shall be defined as the twenty-four (24) hour period calculated from the time the Employee commences the scheduled or assigned shift. All hours worked in excess of the standard hours of work as stated in Article 11.01 – Standard Hours of Work shall be defined as overtime and paid at the rate of one and one-half (1 ½) times the regular rate of pay for the first four (4) consecutive hours and double (2X) the regular rate of pay for hours worked in excess of four (4) consecutive hours in that day.
a) Overtime shall be offered to Employees within the Department in the same classification on the basis of seniority. After overtime has been offered to all eligible Full-time and OTFT Employees, the following Employees may be called in to work at the applicable rate(s) of pay: Employees who are on approved Leave Of Absence; Employees who are on vacation; Employees who have indicated that they are not available for casual/relief work that day.
Overtime Rates of Pay. 10.01 All overtime shall be voluntary and only worked after authorization by the Employer. In an emergent or unforeseen circumstance where not enough employees volunteer to work overtime, the Employer may assign overtime in reverse order of seniority, giving full regard to individual circumstances that would prevent an employee from voluntarily working the overtime.
10.02 Employees shall be scheduled overtime in order of seniority amongst the employees on duty within the classification when overtime is requested.
10.03 Overtime shall be payable at the rate of time and one-half after eight (8) hours in a day or forty (40) hours in a week.
10.04 Full time employees shall have the choice of either banking all overtime or having overtime paid on the applicable regular pay cheque and that agreed arrangement shall only be altered by written request of the employee on March 1 and September 1 of each year. Banked overtime shall be calculated as per Article 10.03 and can be taken as earned time off (ETO) at time(s) mutually agreed upon by the employee and the Employer. All banked overtime can be paid out on March 1 and September 1 of each year with two weeks written notice from the employee.

Overtime Rates of Pay. (a) All hours worked over those as outlined in Article 8, Section 1 (a), (b) and (c) shall be considered as overtime hours and shall be paid for at the rate of time and one-half for the first three (3) hours overtime worked in any one day.
(b) Double the regular rate shall be paid for all hours worked on employees' days or part days of rest.
(c) All overtime shall be voluntary and shall be performed only after authorization by the Co-operative.
(d) Employees shall not be required to take off regular working hours in lieu of overtime worked.
(e) In the event overtime work is authorized, that overtime work shall be offered to employees in that department on the basis of seniority provided they have present ability sufficient to perform the work.
(f) Overtime rates of pay based on employees’ regular rate shall apply to employees when they are temporarily occupying classifications outside the scope of this Agreement.
(g) An employee who is not advised prior to leaving work and is called back to work not continuous with his/her regular working hours, either before or after, shall receive not less than three (3) hours' work or three (3) hours' pay at overtime rates.
(h) An employee who reports for work but who for reason of some breakdown in the plant or for weather conditions is dismissed for the day, shall receive not less than four (4) hours’ pay at his/her normal rate.
(i) Every employee shall be guaranteed one day's rest in seven (7).
(j) When overtime of more than two (2) hours is scheduled to be worked consecutive with the regular hours of work, the employee shall be entitled to a ten (10) minute paid rest period before commencing overtime. If, however, the majority of the employees who have agreed to work overtime so request, they shall be allowed a lunch period not to exceed one (1) hour without pay before commencing overtime.
(a) Where the demands of the business in any one department require extra hours to be worked, those hours will be offered to part-time employees within that department in order of seniority providing those employees are available to work and that such extension of hours does not constitute overtime.
(b) Where employees are called in to work, those additional hours will not be structured so as to constitute a split shift, nor will employees be scheduled a split shift.
Overtime Rates of Pay. 1) Hours in excess of eight (8) in a day will be paid at time and one half.
2) Voluntary Saturday overtime at time and one half, provided forty (40) compensated hours have been paid on the preceding Monday to Friday; for the purpose of this article, compensated hours would include any hours paid by the Company or approved time off by the Company;
3) Sundays and Holidays will be paid at double time.
4) If an employee is asked to work in excess of twelve (12) hours those hours in excess of twelve (12) hours will be paid at double time. There will be no pyramiding or “double dipping” of hours worked to fulfill this work in excess of 12 hours clause. Employees will have to work four (4) hours at one-and-one-half time (1.5x) overtime rate in order to be paid at the double-time (2x) overtime rate, regardless if a portion of the hours worked between zero (0) and twelve
Overtime Rates of Pay. All Employees required to work through the lunch break shall be paid at double the base rate. No premium shall be paid if the lunch break is one half hour before or one half hour after the regularly scheduled lunch break. All time worked by an Employee between the hours of a.m. Saturday and a.m. Monday, shall be paid for at the rate of double the base rate. All time worked by an Employee on any of the fol- lowing holidays, namely: New Year’s Day; Good Friday; , Victoria Day; Canada Day; August Civic Holiday; Labour Thanksgiving Day; Christmas Day; Boxing Day and any holiday proclaimed by the Government of Canada shall be paid for at the base When any of the enumerated holidays as outlined in Article Five, Section of this Agreement falls on a Sat- urday and/or Sunday, the next regular working day or the preceding working day shall be observed as the holiday in lieu thereof, as agreed by the Business Representative and the Employer, > When an Employee is transferred to or from the Af- ternoon or Night Shift, as set out in Article Three of this Agreement and does not work for five consecutive working days or more, then such work shall be con- overtime and shall be paid for at double the base rate. On Industrial Plant projects, the Employer and the Union will negotiate an arrangement when this Shift Sec- tion is not practical. No Employee shall be permitted to work more than one shift in any twenty-four hour period. Overtime shall be limited to seven hours after completion of a shift except that with the approval of the Union the overtime period may be extended. All overtime shall be divided as equally as possible amongst all Employees. In any event twenty minutes will be allowed to con- sume a hot meal at no loss of pay. When an Employee is called in to work over and above his regular shift he shall be supplied a hot meal for every four hours at the Employer’s expense.
