Teachers’ Work Day. A. Teachers’ Work Day
Teachers’ Work Day. 1. All teachers are required to devote sufficient time to their duties to fulfill their professional responsibilities and teaching assignments. By mutual agreement, teachers may be assigned an alternative starting and ending time provided their total work day shall be comparable in length to the standard teacher’s work day. Specialists shall not be required to meet with more than five (5) classes in one-half (1/2) day. Classes will be at least one-half (1/2) hour in length.
Teachers’ Work Day. A. All teachers shall have a duty free lunch. Lunch Duty may be offered to a teacher by the Building Principal, after prior approval from the Superintendent or designee. Teachers will be paid $18.00 to cover lunch duty when requested to do so. In the event there are more volunteers than needed, teachers will be used on a rotating basis. A teacher that is unable to perform his or her lunchroom duties satisfactorily as determined by the school administration may be ineligible for lunch duty for the remainder of the year.
Teachers’ Work Day. 1. The teaching day will not normally exceed seven (7) hours and fifteen (15) minutes. On Fridays and before holidays, teachers may leave after student dismissal. This provision does not preclude early release of teachers if dictated by extraordinary circumstances.
Teachers’ Work Day. The length of the regular workday is 7 hours and 25 minutes, including lunch. Teachers are expected to arrive at least 20 minutes before the regular start of the student day (the time when the students are expected to enter the building). Teachers may depart 10 minutes after the end of the regular student day. For the twenty (20) minutes before students’ regular school day starts and the ten (10) minutes after students’ regular school day ends, teachers shall not be assigned duties that qualify for extra duty compensation, such as supervision or participating in formal professional development. Teachers shall not be assigned unpaid morning or afternoon supervision, but if offered a teacher may accept paid supervisory responsibilities to be compensated at the Extra Duty Supervisory Rate. In the event that supervisory positions remain unfilled, teachers may volunteer to be assigned the remaining positions on a rotating basis. In such a situation, those assignments will be compensated at the extra-duty supervisory rate. On professional growth days, teachers are expected to arrive at least 35 minutes before the start of the regular student day, and they will attend 75 minutes of professional growth before the start of the student day. There will be no more than two professional growth days during any single month. On occasion, this time may be used for faculty meetings. The Board retains the right to adjust the working hours of the employees as a result of an emergency. The determination of whether or not an emergency exists is solely within the discretion of the Superintendent or designee and is expressly excluded from the provisions of the grievance procedure. The Board reserves the right to adjust working hours as a result in a change of student attendance hours.

Teachers’ Work Day. A. All teachers shall have a duty free lunch. Teachers that volunteer and are selected to supervise students during the lunch period shall be paid $18.00 for each such lunch period. However, during the duration of this Agreement, in lieu of the $18.00 payment, teachers will be provided release time for the amount of time worked. See attached Memorandum of Understanding dated September 6, 2011. In the event that there are more volunteers than needed, teachers will be used on a rotating basis. Teachers that are unable to perform his or her lunchroom duties satisfactorily as determined by the school administration may be ineligible for lunch duty for the remainder of the school year. Teachers may request, in writing, the reasons why his or her lunch duty responsibilities were determined to be unacceptable.
Teachers’ Work Day. All levels shall have a seven (7) hour and forty (40) minute work day. Elementary teachers shall report forty (40) minutes prior to the start of the student instructional day. Middle school and senior high teachers shall report fifteen (15) minutes prior to the start of the student day. Elementary teachers shall remain in the school building ten (10) minutes after student dismissal. All secondary teachers shall remain in the school building twenty (20) minutes after the student dismissal. Each building principal will make such reasonable rules as conditions permit to waive the teacher dismissal rules to allow teachers to leave their building on Fridays and the day before holidays, so long as teachers fulfill their responsibilities to the students. Teachers shall be provided with the required number of, State-mandated professional development days.
