REPRESENTATION AND ASSOCIATION SECURITY. (a) All reference to officers, representatives and committee members in this Agreement shall be deemed to mean officers, representatives and committee members of the Ontario Nurses’ Association who are nurses of Public Health Services. Any correspondence sent by the Employer to the Association shall be sent to the Public Health Bargaining Unit President and copied to the Ontario Nurses’ Association Labour Relations Officer. (i) The Employer shall recognize a Negotiating Committee of four (4)representatives of the Association. The purpose of this Committee shall be to negotiate renewals to this Agreement. Leave of absence with pay to a maximum of their normal working day shall be granted to all those nurses composing a negotiating committee while they conducting negotiations with the Employer. A representative of the Ontario Nurses' Association or consultant may attend any meeting at the invitation of either party. (ii) The parties agree to form a Labour Management Committee consisting of four (4) members appointed by the Employer and four (4) members of the Local Association to discuss matters of mutual interest. Meetings between the Association and Employer representatives may be held monthly or more often if necessary at mutually convenient times. A representative or consultant of both Ontario Nurses' Association and the Employer may attend such meeting if requested to be present by either party. (iii) The Employer shall recognize a Grievance Committee of three (3) members for such time spent during the nurse's scheduled working hours to process grievances and attend meetings with the Employer. 2.02 The Employer shall pay the said members of the Committees their respective salaries for all regular time lost in processing grievances and while attending meetings with the Employer. 2.03 The Employer and the Association agree that there will be no discrimination, harassment, interference, intimidation, restriction or coercion exercised or practiced by any of their representatives with respect to any nurse because of the nurse's membership or non-membership in the Association or activity or lack of activity on behalf of the Association or by reason of exercising her or his rights under the Collective Agreement. It is agreed that there will be no discrimination or harassment by either party or by any of the nurses covered by this Agreement on the basis of race, creed, colour, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, marital status, family status, age, hand...
REPRESENTATION AND ASSOCIATION SECURITY. 3.01 The Employer shall recognize the following committees from the bargaining unit as Association representatives: (a) The Grievance Committee, comprised of up to three (3) nurses, will process all grievances through the grievance procedure and assist nurses in the preparation of any complaints or grievances that may arise subject to Article 12; (b) The Negotiation Committee, comprised of three (3) nurses and an alternate as required, will negotiate renewals of this Agreement with the Employer as required; and (c) The ONA/Management Committee, comprised of three (3) nurses from the bargaining unit, will: (i) discuss matters arising out of the interpretation or administration of this Agreement which are not the subject matter of a grievance; (ii) discuss any changes in rules, policies, procedures or programs affecting members of the bargaining unit prior to their implementation by the Employer; and (iii) discuss other matters of concern. The Employer shall meet with the ONA/Management Committee at mutually agreeable times, or as provided by the terms of this Agreement, and in any event there shall be at least one meeting every three (3) months. The party requesting a meeting shall provide the other with an agenda as early as reasonably possible prior to the meeting. A representative of the Ontario Nurses' Association may attend meetings if so requested by either party.
REPRESENTATION AND ASSOCIATION SECURITY. 2.01 All references to Officers, Representatives, Committee Members in this Agreement shall be deemed to mean employees of the Corporation who are Officers, Representatives and Committee Members of Public Health, Ontario Nurses’ Association. 2.02 The Corporation agrees to recognize the following representatives of the Association: (a) A Negotiating Committee which shall be composed of a total of four (4) representatives from each of the parties, one of whom shall be Director Human Resources or designate, and one whom shall be the ONA Labour Relations Officer. (b) A Grievance Committee which shall be composed of not more than three

The ONA members elected shall be members who have completed their probationary term. The Committees are: (a) Negotiating Committee; (b) Grievance Committee; (c) Nurse-Management Committee; (d) Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee; (e) Professional Development Committee;
REPRESENTATION AND ASSOCIATION SECURITY. 2.1 Association/Agency Committee (a) A combined Committee for negotiations and grievances shall be composed of two (2) bargaining unit members, plus the President of the bargaining unit, whose duties shall be to negotiate renewal Collective Agreements and to discuss any matters which arise concerning the interpretation or administration of the Collective Agreement. A consultant may attend these meetings if so requested. (b) The Employer will recognize an Association representative for each office of the Health Unit. Furthermore, the Association agrees to notify the Employer of the names of the appropriate officers as set out herein, as changes occur. 2.3 The Employer will pay such representatives at their respective salaries for all regular time lost in investigating or processing grievances and in negotiating renewals of this Agreement and while attending meetings with the Employer. A Nurse representative must obtain permission from her immediate Supervisor, no less than twenty-four (24) hours, if possible, prior to the commencement of such regular time lost, when leaving her duties to investigate or process grievances. Such permission shall not be unreasonably withheld. (a) The Employer and the Association agree that there shall be no discrimination, intimidation, coercion, restriction or interference practiced against any Nurse by any of their representatives on the basis of race, creed, colour, gender, marital status, sexual orientation, residence, religious or political affiliation, membership or non-membership or activities on behalf of the Association by either of them or their representatives and members. (b) The Employer and the Association agree that their representatives and members will adhere to the provisions contained in the Human Rights Code of Ontario, as amended.
REPRESENTATION AND ASSOCIATION SECURITY. 2.1 There shall be a Nurse-Management Committee composed of two (2) representatives of the Association and two (2) representatives of the Employer. Each party may change its representation in accordance with the subject matter intended to be discussed. The Medical Officer of Health shall be a member ex officio and either party may request the presence of the Medical Officer of Health at any meeting of the Committee. Regular and special meetings will be held at the request of either party. A staff representative of the Association may attend meetings if so requested. 2.2 One of the functions of this committee will be the examination of matters relating to quality and quantity of nursing care.

REPRESENTATION AND ASSOCIATION SECURITY. 3.01 There shall be a Management-Association Nursing Committee composed of three (3) nurse representatives who are members of the Bargaining Unit and three (3) representatives of the Employer. Regular meetings of this Committee will be held quarterly for the purpose of discussing matters of mutual concern including the quality and quantity of nursing care and provided there is business for their joint consideration. It is agreed that this Committee shall not discuss grievances. Special meetings of this Committee will be held at mutually convenient times. Each party will notify the other at least seventy-two (72) hours in advance of the matters it wishes to place on the agenda for the meeting. A representative of the Ontario Nurses’ Association and/or a resource person of the Employer’s choice may attend a meeting of this Committee where mutually agreed. 3.02 The Employer agrees to recognize the following representatives of the Association: (a) A Negotiating Committee of three (3) nurse representatives who are members of the Bargaining Unit for the purpose of negotiating for the renewal of the Collective Agreement; (b) A Grievance Committee composed of two (2) nurse representatives who are members of the Bargaining Unit for the purpose of attending grievance meetings as hereinafter provided for; (c) no more than two (2) nurse representatives who are members of the Bargaining Unit to assist nurses in the presentation of grievances in accordance with the provisions hereinafter set forth. (d) The parties agree to continue the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act. 3.03 The Association will notify the Employer in writing from time to time as to the names of the Committee members and the nurse representatives provided for hereunder. The Employer will recognize them as required by this Agreement upon receipt of such notification and the Association will keep such notification current as to any changes therein. The Association agrees to provide the Employer with a current list of the Executive. 3.04 The Association acknowledges that the nurse representatives and Committee members referred to above must continue to perform their regular duties and that so far as possible, all of their activities will be carried on outside the regular working hours of the employees concerned unless otherwise mutually arranged. REPRESENTATION AND ASSOCIATION SECURITY. The Employer will recognize a committee of four ( 4 ) Association members with seniority for the purpose of negotiating and administering the Collective Agreement. Regular and special meetings of this Committee and Employer representatives will be held at the request of either party. A representative of the Ontario Nurses' Association may attend meetings at the request of the Association Committee. The Employer will pay such staff representatives at their respective salaries for all regular time lost in investigating or processing grievances and in negotiating renewals of this Agreement and while attending meetings with the Employer, provided that these representatives do not leave their regular duties the consent from the Medical Officer of Health or his alternate. The Employer and the Association agree that there shall be no discrimination on account of race, creed, colour, gender or residence, practised against any nurse. The Employer will deduct from the pay due to each nurse who is covered by this Agreement, in the second pay period of each month, a sum equal to regular monthly Association dues of each such nurse. The Association shall notify the .Employer in writing of the amount of such dues from time to time. The Employer will send to the Association once each month its cheque for the dues deducted under this clause, together with a list of the names and social insurance numbers of nurses from whom deductions were made and the amount of the deductions. The Association shall indemnify and save the Employer harmless with respect to all dues so deducted and remitted.
REPRESENTATION AND ASSOCIATION SECURITY. (continued] The Employer and the Association agree that there shall be no discrimination on account of race, creed, colour, gender, marital status, or residence practised against any nurse. The Employer will deduct from the pay of each nurse covered by this Agreement such monthly dues as may be adopted and designated by the Association. The Employer will send to the Association once each month, its cheque for the dues deducted under this clause, together with notification of additions or deletions to the list of nursing staff from whom payroll deductions are being made, including Social Insurance Numbers for each nurse. The Association shall notify the Board of any change in the amount of such dues. The Association shall indemnify and save the Employer harmless with respect to all dues so deducted and remitted. All references to officers, representatives and committee members in this Agreement shall be deemed to mean employees of the Employer and who are officers, representatives and committee members of Local Ontario Nurses’ Association. The Employer agrees to acquaint new nurses with the fact that a Collective Agreement is in effect, and with the conditions of employment set out in the articles. The Employer shall notify the President or her designate of a new commencement date of employment. The President or her designate shall be given a reasonable period of time to meet the new and provide her with a copy of the Collective Agreement. The Employer will notify the President who will arrange for a mutually agreeable date and time for them to meet. The Employer and the Association shall establish an Occupational Health and Safety Committee in accordance with the provisions of the Ontario Health and Safety Act. The Committee shall hold meetings as required and all unsafe, hazardous or dangerous conditions affecting staff shall be taken and dealt with at such meetings. Meetings shall take place at times mutually agreeable to all parties except in the case of an emergency. All spent by nurses their responsibilities on this committee shall be considered time worked and paid for in accordance with this Agreement.
