WORK HOURS AND WORK YEAR. A. The length or work year and workday shall be in accordance with the hours and days defined by the position description terms of employment. Changes to the length of workday shall be in accordance with the applicable provisions of this agreement. Anticipated changes shall be shared with the employee in the spring preceding the upcoming school year when possible. Changes in work year will be brought to Leadership Team and/or Labor Management. B. Employee work hours shall be scheduled between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. C. The normal daily work schedule shall be eight (8) hours.

All bargaining unit members shall be entitled to a duty-free, uninterrupted lunch period of at least thirty (30) minutes in duration. C. WORK HOURS AND WORK YEAR. 9.1 A “full-time” unit member will work 186 days (180 student contact days, 2 teacher workdays and 4 staff development days), effective July 1, 2018. 9.1.1 Classroom teacher positions serving any Juvenile Detention Facility (JDF) will work a 220-day contracted work year. Teachers working at any JDF will have first consideration to accept the extended contracted work year. At the beginning of each school year, the unit member and his/her supervisor shall meet to mutually establish a work year calendar. Calendar start and end dates will be adjusted to cover the 241-day school year for the JDF. In the event the incumbent teacher(s) decline the additional contract work, the additional work will be offered first to the Alternative Education staff with consideration given to the continuity of program and seniority. All qualified bargaining unit members who request to be considered for annual opportunities for additional contract work in Alternative Education beyond their contracted work year, will be considered. 9.2 The County Office and Association recognize that the varying nature of a unit member’s day-to-day professional duties, as described below, lends itself to the establishment of a workday with a defined length but which is also flexible to accommodate the unique needs of the students served by the County Office. A regular workday for all unit members shall consist of 7½ hours. The regular workday will begin 30 minutes before the student day and end 30 minutes after student departure (but shall not exceed 7½ hours on a regular basis). The length of a regular workday, the starting and ending times, will be flexible to accommodate school site schedules greater or less than 7½ hours, itinerant schedules, and to accommodate time worked by unit members beyond eight hours in a given day due to work in either IEP/SST team meetings or home visits approved by the unit member’s supervisor. 9.2.1 A “part time” unit member, any unit member working less than 1.0 FTE, shall have their work hours assigned with consideration of, but not limited to, travel time, breaks, lunches, and scheduling of services. 9.3 Unit members are responsible for the following professional duties: IEP team meetings including preparation, Back to School Night; Open House; County Office staff meetings of reasonable frequency and length; home visits; and Student Study Team meetings. WORK HOURS AND WORK YEAR. 9.1 The regular workweek of a full-time unit member shall consist of not more than five (5) consecutive working days (Monday-Friday). 9.2 The length of a regular full-time workday shall not exceed eight (8) hours. Each unit employee shall be assigned a fixed, regular number of hours. Paraeducators who work with classroom teachers may be granted one (1) extra hour planning time per week for necessary preparations. 9.2.1 The District agrees to compensate bargaining unit member at the rate of one and one- half (1½) times the employees' regular rate of pay for each hour of work in excess of forty (40) hours per week. 9.2.2 Paraeducators serving in positions with fewer than eight (8) hours shall be offered positions with additional hours within their classification for which they meet the required qualifications on the basis of seniority, provided that recent evaluations indicate all satisfactory performance.

Employees required to work on holidays (as set out in Article 10: Vacation and Holidays) shall be paid two- and one-half times the employee’s regular rate of pay. 9.2 The length of a regular workday shall not exceed eight (8) hours. Because unit members are occasionally required to deal with emergency circumstances dealing with the health and safety of students, the immediate administrator may modify the required beginning and ending times by advising the unit members of the perceived need. Administrators can require additional or changed hours at any time the health or safety of students is involved. If this matter becomes a problem, the District and CSEA agree to bargain the issue of starting and ending times and hours allocation. The District and CSEA shall utilize an interest-based process designed to meet the needs of unit members and the District’s need for safe and secure campuses. 9.2.1 The District agrees to compensate bargaining unit member at the rate of one- and one-half times the employee's regular rate of pay for each hour of work in excess of eight (8) hours per day or forty (40) hours per week. 9.2.2 Except as required for overtime, the salary paid a unit members working within that classification at extracurricular events shall be the same as that earned during the regular day. 9.3 There shall be no restriction on number or type of funds from which unit members may be paid. 9.4 The basic work year for unit members shall coincide with the negotiated work year of the school based classified employees who provide direct services to students.   • Work Week and Work Day (a) (Applicable to full-time employees only) The normal or standard work week shall be an average of thirty-seven and one-half (37½) hours, with a normal or standard work day of seven and one-half (7½) hours except in those Hospitals where agreements already provide a standard or normal work week of less than thirty-seven and one-half (37½) hours per week and seven and one-half (7½) hours per day. (Those Hospitals with the lesser required hours shall reflect in the salary rates a pro-rata lesser amount compared with salaries for other Hospitals based on the ratio that the standard or normal hours of work at the Hospital concerned are to thirty-seven and one-half (37½) hours and shall appropriately reflect such hours in this Article). The length of time over which the hours of work per week are to be averaged shall be determined locally and shall be set out in the Local Provisions Appendix. Part-time employees shall be entitled to overtime pay at the rate of time and one-half their regular straight time hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of the normal or standard work day or in excess of the normal or standard full-time work week. The length of time over which the hours of work per week are to be averaged shall be determined locally and shall be set out in the Local Provisions Appendix. (c) Where the Hospital and the Union agree, subject to the approval of the Ministry of Labour, other arrangements regarding hours of work may be entered into between parties on a local level with respect to tours beyond the normal or standard work day in accordance with the provisions set out in Article 25.01 of the collective agreement.

  • Work Day and Work Week The normal work day shall consist of up to 8 hours of work within a 24-hour period. The normal work week shall consist of up to 40 hours of work within a 7-day period. The Employer may define the work week on an individual, department, shift or facility basis in accordance with Federal and State law.

  • Work Year The full-time work year for all employees employed in EA and ECE job classes shall be a minimum of 194 work days to correspond with the school year calendar.

  • Work Hours Except in emergencies, the standard work week of full-time unit employees shall normally consist of five (5) days of eight (8) hours each, exclusive of lunch hour. Each employee shall be assigned regular starting and ending times, which shall not be changed without prior notice. Should an employee be required to work during his/her lunch hour, the length of such interruption shall be counted as time worked unless other arrangements are made with his/her supervisor.

  • Weekend Work (1) All ordinary hours of work performed between midnight on Friday and midnight on Sunday shall be paid for at the rate of time and one-half.

  • Standard Work Week The standard work week for full-time employees covered by this Agreement shall be forty (40) hours, exclusive of the time allotted for meal periods, consisting of five (5) consecutive work days followed by two (2) consecutive days off. The week shall commence with the shift that includes 12:01 A.M. Sunday of each calendar week and end at the start of the shift that includes 12:00 midnight the following Saturday. The Employer retains the right to modify the work schedules to meet operational needs.

  • Workday and Workweek The regular workweek of a full-time employee in the bargaining unit shall be forty (40) hours and shall consist of five (5) consecutive days of eight (8) hours per day.

  • Hours Worked For the purpose of computing the number of hours worked, all time during which an employee is in paid status shall be construed as hours worked.

  • Normal Work Week The normal work week shall be thirty-seven and one-half (37 1/2) hours, and the normal daily hours of work shall be seven and one-half (7 1/2) hours, exclusive of a meal period. The normal work week shall be Monday through Friday and the normal workday shall be scheduled between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

  • Work Week The work week will begin at 12:00 a.m. on Sunday and end at 11:59 p.m. the following Saturday.
