Vacations and Paid Holidays. All vacations must be taken at a time satisfactory to the Company but employees shall have the opportunity so far as the scheduling of work permits, to choose their vacation times, and preference shall be considered in the order of department seniority. An employee, whose vacation is split, may use his seniority as a basis of preference for only one (1) continuous period. Any vacation entitlement that an employee has failed to schedule by January 1 of the holiday year, may be scheduled by the department.

Vacations and Paid Holidays. Vacations must be taken during the period between the date on which the employee became eligible for the vacation (May 1st) and the immediately following April 30th. However, under special circumstances and with written approval of the Human Resources Manager, the Company may give consideration to rescheduling a maximum of two (2) weeks vacation entitlement beyond April 30th.
Vacations and Paid Holidays. A week's vacation pay will be the employee's classified weekly salary at the time the vacation is taken except that an employee who has been up-graded to a higher paid job for forty-five (45) consecutive calendar days immediately prior to his vacation shall receive the higher salary as his vacation pay. When this day falls on a weekend, it shall be observed on the Monday following. 23.04 All employees shall also have as paid holidays the days between Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. The employer shall communicate to employees the dates of the office closures for the Christmas Eve to New Year’s Day holidays no later than November 25 of each year. Employees shall be entitled to any new statutory federal or provincial holidays that are declared in the jurisdiction where the employee works during the life of the Agreement. 23.05 One additional day in each year that is recognized to be a provincial or civic holiday in the area in which the employee is employed, such as St. Xxxx Xxxxxxxx Day. Any vacation entitlement that an employee has failed to schedule by January of the holiday year, will be scheduled by the department concerned. Vacations and Paid Holidays. 13.01 A vacation schedule will be posted by Management at the first of each year. Sign up date for vacation will be April 1st of each year. Vacation sign up may be changed at any time with mutual consent. Employees are required to give Management at least two weeks notice in writing before starting approved vacation time. Notice forms are to be supplied by Management. 13.02 Employees will be eligible for vacations based upon their length of continuous employment as of their anniversary date of that year. One year. Vacations and Paid Holidays. 12.01 Each nurse shall be entitled to a vacation without loss of pay as follows: Full-Time Nurses Full-time nurses shall be entitled to one and two-thirds (1.67) days of paid vacation in respect to each full month of employment. Nurses with eleven (11) years of uninterrupted employment shall receive 2.08 days of paid vacation in respect of each full month of employment during the 12th and subsequent years. Nurses with twenty (20) years of uninterrupted employment shall receive 2.5 days of paid vacation in respect to each full month of employment during the 21st and subsequent years. Vacation schedules are subject to the approval of the appropriate Director. However, the Employer will endeavour to accommodate the preferences of nurses regarding vacation scheduling. Vacation entitlement will be credited on a quarterly basis, (i.e. September 30th, December 31st, March 31st and June 30th). Nurses shall not accumulate vacation leave credits in excess of thirty (30) working days at any time except under exceptional or unusual circumstances and approved by the appropriate Director and the Medical Officer of Health. A nurse upon written request submitted reasonably in advance of the Employer’s payroll cycle will receive an advance on their accumulated vacation pay prior to leaving on an approved vacation in excess of five (5) or more consecutive days. For full time nurses who regularly work less than full time hours the employer will calculate the number of days of vacation that the employee has earned and allow the employee to take the time off with pay. Nurses shall not accumulate vacation leave credits in excess of the equivalent of thirty (30) working days, prorated based on the number of days the nurse works compared to a nurse who works full time hours, at any time except under exceptional or unusual circumstances and approved by the appropriate Director and the Medical Officer of Health. For example, a nurse who regularly works twenty-eight (28) hours per week would not accumulate in excess of twenty-four (24) working days. Part-time nurses, temporary nurses shall receive vacation pay equivalent to eight percent (8%) of earnings since the most recent payment or the commencement of employment. This payment shall be made on December 31st or at the end of the fiscal year for nurses working in programs with a fiscal year other than December 31st.
