SICK LEAVE AND FUNERAL LEAVE. Section 1. Ten (10) days of leave with pay, to be used for sickness or death, injury, or serious illness in immediate family or personal business as specified below will be granted to each employee July 1st of each year of this Agreement. It is to be considered as granted on the basis of one (1) day for each month of service during the year. In the event the employee does not serve the entire year, his leave days will be one (1) day for each full month of service. This leave may accumulate from year to year to an unlimited maximum number of days.

SICK LEAVE AND FUNERAL LEAVE. Section 1. Each full-time firefighter assigned to a forty (40) hour workweek schedule shall accrue sick leave at a rate of one hundred twenty (120) hours per year, prorated over twenty-six (26) two-week pay periods, and the maximum number of sick leave hours which can be accrued by such firefighters shall not exceed 2,080. Firefighters assigned to a 24-48 schedule shall accrue sick leave at a rate 1.4 times the rate of a firefighter assigned to a forty (40) hour workweek schedule or 168 hours per year, prorated over twenty-six (26) two- week pay periods, and the maximum number of sick leave hours which can be accrued by such firefighters shall not exceed 2,912. When a firefighter is transferred from a forty (40) hour workweek schedule to a 24-48 schedule, any balance of sick leave will be multiplied by 1.4. When a firefighter is transferred from 24-48 schedule to a forty (40) hour workweek schedule, any balance of sick leave will be multiplied by five- sevenths (5/7).
SICK LEAVE AND FUNERAL LEAVE. Section 10.1. Every seniority employee covered by this Agreement who works a fifty-six (56) hour work week schedule shall accrue twelve (12) hours of sick leave allowance for each completed calendar month of service. When a fifty-six (56) hour employee actually uses a day of sick leave, he/she shall have twenty-four (24) hours deducted from his/her accumulated unused sick leave. Every seniority employee who works a forty (40) hour work schedule shall accrue eight (8) hours of sick leave allowance for each completed calendar month of service. When a forty (40) hour employee actually uses a day of sick leave, he/she shall have eight (8) hours deducted from his/her accumulated unused sick leave. Such sick leave allowance may only be used by an employee when incapacitated to perform his/her duties due to sickness or injury, or when quarantined, or in the event of a serious illness or death in the employee's immediate family. All foreseeable leaves for such purposes shall require specific prior approval of the Director of Police and Fire Services. In the event of sick leave for any purpose, the Director of Police and Fire Services may require a certificate of a medical doctor or other competent professional individual giving information as to the circumstances involved. The immediate family, for these purposes, shall be regarded to include the parents, current spouse, children, brothers, sisters, grandparents, grandchildren and current parents-in-law.
SICK LEAVE AND FUNERAL LEAVE. Effective June 1, 1978 eEvery employee covered by this Agreement who has been employed by his Employer shall be permitted to accumulate five (5) days sick leave per year accumulated at the rate of 1.7 days for each four (4) months of service. This paid leave can be used for a bona fide illness, accident or funeral leave, or to care for an immediate family member as defined below. This five (5) days per year shall be accumulated to a maximum of thirty (30) days. Every employee shall earn sick leave for each month in which he/she works the 75 hours per month needed to qualify for Health & Welfare benefits. Paid vacations, paid holidays, and paid sick leave are considered as hours worked for computing eligibility for paid sick and funeral leave each month. Earned paid leave benefits shall be paid in the following manner: First (1st) full workday’s absence, no pay except where the employee is hospitalized on such first (1st) day; succeeding workday’s absence, full pay until earned sick leave benefits are exhausted. The waiting period herein provided before full pay commences shall apply to each employee and not each illness or accident. Employees working for one (1) Employer will only have one (1) waiting period. Employees working for multiple Employers shall have one (1) day wait for the first illness or accident for each Employer. If the employee desires to utilize any earned leave for funeral leave it shall be for a death in the immediately family and immediate family shall be defined as: Spouse, Domestic Partner, Son, Daughter, Father, Mother, Brother, Sister, Grandson, Granddaughter, Grandfather and Grandmother. Upon resignation, voluntary quit, retirement, discharge, or layoff, all unused sick leave shall be paid to the affected employee at his hourly rate of pay. The Union and the Employer hereby expressly waive the provisions of Chapter 12W to the Administrative Code of San Francisco relating to paid sick leave. Those provisions shall have no application to the employees covered by the Agreement between the Employer and the Union during the term of this Agreement.
SICK LEAVE AND FUNERAL LEAVE. Each full time employee covered by this Agreement will be entitled to sick leave accumulated in a single sick leave bank at the rate of one (1) day per full school month (9) nine, part-time employees shall receive prorate portion of sick days per school month worked with a limit of 100 days. It is understood that part-time employees shall be entitled to prorated portion of all benefits provided under this paragraph and other paragraphs of this Agreement.
SICK LEAVE AND FUNERAL LEAVE. A. Each employee covered by this Agreement will be entitled to sick leave accumulated in a single sick leave bank at the rate of ten (10) days per year accumulated to forty-five (45) days maximum, and days accumulated over forty-five (45) will be reimbursed at a rate of forty percent (40%) of the employee's normal daily wages with the maximum of ten (10) days reimbursable at the end of each school year. No employee with excess of forty-five (45) days will lose them except by use. It is understood that part-time employees shall be entitled to a pro-rated portion of all benefits provided under this paragraph and other paragraphs of this Agreement.
SICK LEAVE AND FUNERAL LEAVE. A. Each employee shall be credited with sick leave of 0.0577 hours for each hour worked not to exceed one hundred twenty (120) hours per year. Vacation shall count as hours worked for this paragraph.

SICK LEAVE AND FUNERAL LEAVE. A. New employees hired during the calendar year shall, upon completion of their probationary period, be entitled to pro-rata sick leave for the remainder of their first calendar year of employment. Thereafter, such employees shall be entitled to eight (8) days sick leave credit on an annual basis. All other full-time employees who have completed their probationary period will receive eight (8) days sick leave credit per calendar year. Sick leave earned but not utilized will accumulate from year to year, up to a maximum of twenty (20) days.
SICK LEAVE AND FUNERAL LEAVE. (a) On each July 1st, all members of the bargaining unit shall be credited with eight (8) sick days, accumulative to a maximum of forty-five (45) days. Employees hired on or after any July 1st shall be credited with pro-rata sick days, one (1) day for each twenty-five (25) scheduled working days up to the next July 1st.
