HOLIDAY PAY PLAN. 25.01 Unless otherwise provided herein, each employee, who meets all of the eligibility rules below, shall be paid eight (8) times his/her regular hourly wage rate for the day of observance of each of Good Friday, the Monday after Easter, the Friday before Victoria Day, Victoria Day, Canada Day, Civic Holiday/Heritage Day, the Friday before Labour Day, Labour Day, Thanksgiving Day, and for employees in the Province of Alberta, Remembrance Day, and for the year 2016, December 26, 27, 28, 29 and 30; for the year 2017, January 2 and December 25, 26, 27, 28 and 29; and for the year 2018, January 1, and December 24, 25, 26, 27, 28 and 31; and for 2019, January 1 and December 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 30 and 31; and for the year 2020, January 1; shift premium will be included in holiday pay for the above holidays. In the event an additional Federal or Provincial holiday is proclaimed during the life of this Agreement, one of the holidays designated in 25.01 shall be designated and observed in lieu of such additional Federal or Provincial holiday. The parties shall meet to determine which of the holidays shall be so designated. Each employee must meet the following eligibility rules to receive holiday pay:
(a) the employee shall have attained seniority as of the date of the observance of the holiday;
(b) the employee shall have registered his/her attendance on the last scheduled work day prior to the day of observance of the holiday, and the employee shall have registered his/her attendance within one hour of his/her regular starting time on the next scheduled working day following the day of observance of the holiday, unless the employee is able to provide his/her supervisor with satisfactory reason for his/her failure to qualify under this section. (Any dispute in this respect will be subject to the grievance procedure.)
(i) In the case of the Christmas holiday period, in 2016, starting December 26 through the following December 30, 2016; in 2017, starting December 25 through the following January 1, 2018; and in 2018, starting December 24 through January 1, 2019; in 2019, starting December 23 through the following January 1, 2020, a seniority employee absent without excuse on both the last scheduled working day prior to and the next scheduled working day after a Christmas holiday period shall be ineligible for holiday pay for all of the holidays within the Christmas holiday period. HOLIDAY PAY PLAN. 1. The following holidays shall be paid holidays under this Agreement: New Year’s Day Family Day Good Friday Easter Monday Friday before Victoria Day Victoria Day Canada Day Civic Holiday as per Mopar Parts agreement Friday before Labour Day Labour Day Thanksgiving Day Christmas Day Boxing Day These designated days will correspond to the Mississauga Mopar Parts Distribution Center scheduled days. It is understood that December 31st will be paid at time and one half for all hours worked on said day.
2. An employee who has worked sixty (60) days, on or be- fore the date of a paid Holiday, shall receive eight (8) hours holiday allowance at the employee’s regular rate of pay for such holiday providing the employee works the regularly scheduled work days immediately preceding and following the holiday.
3. An employee absent with a reasonable excuse on the quali- fying day(s) will receive the Holiday allowance. Reason- able excuse will include bereavement leave, jury duty, court subpoena; scheduled vacation and Union business leave and substantiated medical absences.
4. An employee whose regularly scheduled shift falls on a paid holiday will receive the Holiday Allowance plus two times pay at a regular rate for all hours worked on the holi- day.
HOLIDAY PAY PLAN. 22.01 No employee covered by this agreement shall have salary reduced by reason of observance of the holidays as set out in Clause 23.02. Employees in the bargaining unit will qualify for the holidays as set out in Article 44.02 of the MSSC Local 127 Collective Agreement.
a) In order to qualify under the provisions of Clause 22.01 the employee must work the last scheduled working day prior to and the first schedule working day immediately following the holiday, or furnish the company with satisfactory reason for not working.
b) For an employee who has been laid off such day must be, within twenty (20) regular working days of the day of the holiday, and for an employee who is on approved sick leave or authorized leave of absence, this must have been within sixty (60) calendar days of the day of holiday. Premium paid days shall not be recognized as a scheduled working day for the purpose of qualifying for a paid holiday under this sub-section.
c) For each Christmas holiday period, the employee must have worked on the last schedule work day prior to each holiday period and on the next scheduled work day after each holiday period except for absences for approved sick leave or authorized leave of absence or Xxxxxxx’x Compensation. Failure to work on either the last scheduled work day prior to or on the next scheduled work day after each Christmas Holiday period will disqualify the employee for pay for the two holidays in the Christmas Holiday period which follow or precede such scheduled work day, however, the employee shall be eligible for the remaining holidays of the Christmas period.
22.03 If the observance of the above holidays falls on a Saturday or Sunday, employees shall be paid for such holiday at their regular salary, or the company will designate the working day on which the holiday we observe, and this will either be the working day immediately prior to or following the day of the holiday; but in any case an employee may be given consideration to be granted another day off in lieu.
22.04 Whenever an employee is required to work on the day of observance of any of the holidays mentioned in Clause 22.02, employees will not be entitled to 1½ times overtime rate of pay until 37.5 hours are worked during a given week, with the exception of Sunday, which will be paid at double time. All contractual time off (holiday, bereavement leave, jury and witness duty, vacation hours, union business, spousal leave, meetings, etc.) will be counted as hours worked.

It is understood that December 31st will be paid at time and one half for all hours worked on said day.
34.02 An employee who has completed ninety (90) days of employment, on or before the date of a paid Holiday, shall receive eight (8) hours holiday allowance at the employee’s regular rate of pay for such holiday providing the employee works the regularly scheduled work days immediately preceding and following the holiday.
34.03 An employee absent with a reasonable excuse on the qualifying day(s) will receive the Holiday allowance. Reasonable excuse will include bereavement leave, jury duty, court subpoena; scheduled vacation and Union business leave and substantiated medical absences.
34.04 An employee whose regularly scheduled shift falls on a paid holiday will receive the Holiday Allowance plus two times pay at a regular rate for all hours worked on the holiday.
34.05 If an employee signs to work overtime on a qualifying day and does not report to work, they will be required to provide (one doctor’s note) or other approved substantiation for the absence. Thus qualifying for the holiday pay.
HOLIDAY PAY PLAN. 45.01 For the purpose of this agreement the following are paid holidays: New Years Day Thanksgiving Family Day ½ Day on Christmas Eve Good Friday Christmas Day Victoria Day Boxing Day Canada Day New Years Eve Civic Day Labour Day All holidays shall be set out in the Agreement and shall be celebrated on a regular work day, Monday through Friday. Effective in calendar year 2016 and in each year thereafter, the ½ day holiday on Christmas Eve shall be changed to a full day paid holiday. It is agreed thereafter the number of paid holidays provided per calendar year shall not exceed a total of twelve (12) days per calendar year.
45.02 An employee will receive holiday pay providing he/she works his/her last scheduled shift preceding the holiday and his/her first scheduled shift immediately following the holiday unless the absence is due to a satisfactory reason or unless the employee has been laid off within 15 days prior to the holiday.
45.03 Employees who are requested to work on such holidays shall be paid two (2) times the regular hourly rate for all hours worked plus holiday pay.
HOLIDAY PAY PLAN. 34.01 The Company will recognize the same number of holidays as the Brampton Chrysler Collective Agreement and the holidays will be celebrated on the same days. In addition, on the first day of each calendar year, following one
(1) year of service, each employee will receive 10 (ten) additional personal days. Personal days will be taken on days mutually agreed to by the Company and the employee. PPD’s will not be permitted to be carried over from one year to the next. Any remaining PPD’s from that year’s allotment will be paid on a separate cheque as a lump sum payment at the end of the year. This applies to PPD’s awarded after December 31, 2003 only. The PPD’s currently banked, as of February 6, 2004 (that were awarded prior to December 31, 2003), will remain banked until used. The employee may use a maximum five (5) days of this bank for downtime or layoff following February 6, 2004.
34.02 An employee who has completed ninety (90) days of employment on or before the date of a Paid Holiday shall receive eight (8) hours holiday allowance at the employee’s regular rate of pay for such holiday providing the employee works the regularly scheduled work days immediately preceding and following the holiday.
34.03 An employee absent with a reasonable excuse on the qualifying day(s) will receive the Holiday Allowance. Reasonable excuse will include, but is not limited to, bereavement, jury duty, court subpoena, scheduled vacation, Union business leave, work-related illness, personal illness with a physician’s note, and approved days off.
34.04 An employee whose regularly scheduled shift falls on a paid holiday will received the Holiday Allowance plus two times pay at a regular rate for all hours worked on the holiday.
34.05 Employees working on holiday will be paid as follows:
(a) double time plus holiday pay; or,
(b) straight time plus holiday pay and day off with pay on mutually agreeable day.
34.06 Employees who are laid off the week prior to, or returning to work from a layoff during the week following a holiday will be paid for those holidays.
HOLIDAY PAY PLAN. The following shall be recognized as holidays to be paid for at the regular straight time hourly rate. New Year’s Day Labour Day Family Day Thanksgiving Day Good Friday Christmas Day Victoria Day Boxing Day Canada Day – July 1 Civic Holiday Three (3) Floaters to be taken as part of Christmas shutdown. 2020 – Dec 29, 30, 31 2021 – Dec 29, 30, 31 2022 – Dec 28, 29, 30 or days celebrated in lieu thereof, regardless of the day on which it falls.
HOLIDAY PAY PLAN. 46.01 For the purpose of this Agreement, the following days are paid holidays:
46.02 Employees shall receive payment for each hour that the employee would normally be scheduled to work, at her regular hourly rate, inclusive of premium (if applicable), for each of the above paid holidays and subject to the following:
(i) the employee has worked the last scheduled shift immediately prior to the holiday and the first scheduled shift immediately following the holiday, unless she can provide satisfactory reason for failure to do so.
46.03 Time worked on a holiday shall be compensated at a rate of time of one and one- half (1½) the employees regularly hourly rate of pay. In addition the employees shall receive holiday pay provided the employee qualifies for that holiday pay under Article 46.02 or the employee will have the option of taking another day off in lieu of the holiday. This day must be mutually agreed to and must be scheduled within sixty (60) days of the holiday worked. If the lieu day is not booked within sixty (60) days, it will automatically be paid out by the Employer.
46.04 Provided the employee qualifies for holiday pay under Article 46.02, if one of these holidays falls within an employee’s vacation time, the employee is entitled to an additional vacation day or, if mutually agreed, an extra day’s pay. The additional vacation day must be agreed upon beforehand by the employee and the Employer.
