Leaves Sick Leave. The District agrees to provide twelve (12) days per year accumulative leave per employee to be used in the event of the absence of an employee necessitated by the personal injury to or illness of the employee. Said leave shall be granted with no deduction in salary. The use of sick leave, pursuant to the term 'emergency' in RCW 28A.58.099 shall be granted in the event of illness or injury of a member of the employee's immediate family when the presence of the employee is required, as recommended by the attending physician. Leave days earned but unused during each calendar year may be accumulated year to year to a limit of one hundred eighty (180) days, or may be compensated annually or at retirement or death so long as prescribed and permitted by statute. Accumulated sick leave shall be transferable into the District from any other school district in the state of Washington. An accounting of accumulated sick leave shall be provided to each employee at the June pay period. Sick leave shall be applicable under the following provisions, in addition to definitions in the above sections: (a) medical or dental appointments which require the attention of an out-of-town specialist, if recommended by a physician or dentist; (b) medical or dental appointments necessitated by pain or the need for immediate treatment; (c) physical examinations required by a physician in conjunction with a current illness. The District reserves the right to verify that an appointment was not available on a non- school day or that appointments were kept and to require a certificate of illness by a physician of the District's choice at the District's expense.

8.1 A professional staff member who is ill may be absent without loss of pay in accordance with the provisions outlined below. The purpose of such absence is to protect the professional staff member and the children (from potential illness) when a professional staff member becomes ill.
Leaves Sick Leave. Employees shall accrue sick leave at the rate of one (1) day per month worked to a maximum of twelve (12) days per year. Sick leave shall be compensable upon separation (as per statute), retirement, or death as provided and limited by law. Accumulated sick leave is transferable from one school district another as provided by state law.
A. Sick leave is to be used in the event of absence for (1) personal illness, accident or temporary disability; (2) to care for the employee's or spouse's immediate family. Immediate family is defined as: parent, sibling, spouse, domestic partner, child, grandchild, grandparents and spouse's parents with a health condition which requires treatment or supervision; After five (5) consecutive days of absence or in the event of a pattern of regular absences, a written verification by a doctor may be required.
B. In January of the year following any year in which a minimum of sixty (60) days of sick leave is accumulated, and each January thereafter, any eligible employee may exercise an option to receive remuneration for unused sick leave earned the previous year in excess of sixty (60) days to monetary compensation at a rate equal to one day's current, regular rate of compensation of the employee for each four full days of accrued sick leave.. Sick leave for which compensation has been paid shall be deducted from the employee's accrued sick leave at the rate of four days for every one day's monetary compensation. Each employee shall be given a monthly accounting of sick leave. An employee who separates from District employment due to resignation, retirement or death employee who is an "eligible employee" under RCW 28A.400.21-(2) may elect (personally or by his/her personal representative) to receive remuneration at a rate equal to one day's current monetary compensation of the employee for each four full days accrued sick leave to the extent allowed by applicable law and regulations. : Employees new to the District will be credited with their sick leave balance from any other public school district in the State of Washington. .
Leaves Sick Leave. A. Each Teacher shall be entitled to sick leave days per school year as follows: Years 1-10: 10 sick days Years 11-20: 15 sick days Years 21+: 20 sick days
Leaves Sick Leave. Sick leave will be allowed for: (1) employee's illness; (2) illness including pregnancy, childbirth, and recovery there from of a family member; (3) doctor appointments; (4) funerals for immediate family and close relatives; (5) maternity allowance is limited to the number of days considered as illness and verified by a medical doctor; and (6) other days as approved by the superintendent of schools. The number of days allowed for sick leave will be eight (8) days per year accumulative to sixty days. Any teacher who is receiving workers' compensation benefits will have this amount of pay received for sick leave pay reduced by the amount of workers' compensation received for days not worked. The Board will pay $10 per day up to and including 30 days of accumulated sick leave when a teacher leaves the system for any reason. The Board will also pay $10 a day to teachers for accumulated days in excess of 60 days at the end of each school year. Upon a bona fide retirement, either at the normal retirement age of 62 or when eligible for KPERS, the certified staff member will receive one hundred and fifty percent (150%) of what is listed in the negotiated agreement as pay for unused sick leave. At the beginning of each school year a written record of sick leave will be given to each teacher and the Association President. This record will include the number of days accumulated prior to the current year, number allocated for current year, and the total number available for the current year.
Leaves Sick Leave. Sick leave credit shall accumulate at the rate of 1 ¼ days per month and at a maximum of fifteen (15) days per year. Sick leave can accumulate to three hundred twenty-five (325) days only for the purposes specified in this Article. Unused personal leave will be converted to accumulated sick leave at the end of each school year. Each beginning teacher shall be granted a minimum often (10) days advance sick leave upon employment by the Board, but if the teacher leaves the employment of the Board before ten (10) days have accumulated, the difference between the accumulated and the used days shall be deducted from the final pay due the teacher. A current teacher who has exhausted all accumulated sick leave will be advanced five (5) days of sick leave per year. A current teacher participating in the "Sick Bank" shall be ineligible for the advancement of five (5) days of Sick Leave. Any teacher transferring to the employment of the Board shall be credited with the unused balance of his/her accumulated sick leave upon verification of such accumulation from the proper public agency pursuant to Section 143.29 of the Ohio Revised Code. Sick Leave may be utilized in one-fourth (.25) day increments. If unused sick leave accumulation information does not regularly appear on payroll stub, it shall be reported to each teacher by the Principal in August. Sick leave may be used for absence due to personal illness, injury, exposure to contagious diseases which could be communicated to other employees or children. Sick leave may be used for absence as a result of illness of disability due to pregnancy during periods when the teacher is not on child care leave. Up to fifteen (15) days of sick leave may be used when adopting a child or for emergency child care reasons during periods when not on child care leave. Such leave shall be limited in accordance with the following paragraphs:
1. A teacher may use up to five (5) days accumulated sick leave for death of the following family members: spouse, children, father, mother, sister, brother, sister-in-law, brother- in• xxx, mother-in- law, father-in-law, grandparents, grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, or anyone living in the same household as the teacher. Also included are step-, great-, half-, and extended family members.
2. A teacher may use one (1) day accumulated sick leave for death of family members not covered in paragraph 1.

Leaves Sick Leave. A. A unit member under contract for a full-time assignment shall be granted ten (10) days of sick leave per school year. Such benefit shall take effect on the opening day of the first semester. Non-used sick leave shall be cumulative from year to year in any assignment. A unit member working less than full-time shall be granted sick leave in the same ratio that his/her employment bears to full-time employment. Any Unit Member working in excess of the regular school year shall be granted additional sick leave in the same ratio that his/her employment bears to full-time employment. Use of current annual sick leave need not be accrued prior to taking such leave. When a unit member has exhausted all of his/her accrued sick leave due to a continuing illness or injury, the employee shall receive full pay less the cost of a substitute, or to the substitute had one been employed, for a period not to exceed the remainder of the school year. Summer school teachers will be permitted to use up to two (2) days of sick leave (up to two days of no-tell days) during the summer session (120 hours). (One day per 3 week session). Any days in excess of two (2)) days or one day per 3 week session shall result in loss of pay. The two days of sick leave shall include any days utilized for personnel necessity. Use of bereavement leave is excluded from this provision. For computational purposes, a full-time summer school assignment will be treated in the same manner as a regular school year assignment.
B. The District may request for just cause verification of any absence, including, but not limited to, a physician's statement. Unit members returning to work from extended illness (including surgery) or injury absences shall be required to present a doctor's release prior to returning to duty.
Leaves Sick Leave. 20.01 Full time employees who have completed their probationary period shall be entitled to a period of paid absence of up to seven (7) days per year, for illness or accident.
20.02 For illnesses over three days, employees are required to provide a doctor’s note, however the College reserves the right to request a medical certificate at any time for any absence due to illness.

Leaves Sick Leave. At the beginning of each school year, every certificated employee shall be credited with a total of twelve (12) days with pay for illness, injury, or emergency. Compensation for such leave shall be the same as the employee would have received had the employee not taken leave. This leave also applies to persons under employment contract with the District as part-time employees; however, such employees shall receive that portion of twelve days as the total number of days contracted hours to 180 days. Unused sick leave under this provision shall accumulate as provided by law. The intent of sick leave is to make it possible for certificated employees to be absent for legitimate illness, injury, or emergency, but not for personal pleasure or profit. Any direct abuse of the sick leave provision as judged by the District shall result in loss of pay for the days missed and/or disciplinary action.
A. Sick leave may be applied to absence caused by illness or injury of a certificated employee; or illness of a child, stepchild, or legal xxxx of the court who is under eighteen years of age; or illness of a spouse, parent, grandparent, and/or in-laws requiring treatment or supervision of the certficated employee.
B. Employees upon finding it necessary to be absent from their assigned duties by reason of illness, injury, or emergency, shall notify their immediate supervisor or the District designated employee for this purpose, at the earliest possible time stating the reason thereof. If any instance involving use of a fraction of a day’s sick leave, the minimum charge to a certificated employee’s sick leave account shall be one hour.
C. Upon return to duty, the employee shall be required to sign an Absence Report Form stating the reason for the reported absence. The certificated employee may be required to furnish a certificate issued by a licensed physician or other satisfactory evidence of illness to the Superintendent.
D. Maternity, childbirth, and recovery from childbirth following said birth, shall be considered a form of illness for the purpose of this leave. A physician shall certify when an employee is no longer able to work, and when she is able to return to work.
E. A leave of up to four (4) days with pay, deducted from sick leave, may be used for paternity leave at the time of a child’s birth, or for the adoption of a child.
