Part-Time and Casual Employees. (a) Hours worked in excess of the ordinary hours on any day or shift prescribed in Clause 17.3 are to be paid as follows: Part time Health Professional, Nursing and Home Care 150% for the first two hours and 200% thereafter 150% for the first two hours and 200% thereafter 200% 250% Casual Health Professional and Nursing 187.5% for the first two hours and 250% thereafter 187.5% for the first two hours and 250% thereafter 250% 312.5% Casual Home Care 175% for the first two hours 175% for the first two hours 225% 275% and 225% thereafter and 225% thereafter Part time Aged Care - all time worked in excess of 38 hours per week or 76 hours per fortnight 150% for the first two hours and 200% thereafter 200% 200% 250% Casual Aged Care - all time worked in excess of 38 hours per week or 76 hours per fortnight 187.5% for the first two hours and 250% thereafter 250% 250% 312.5% Part time Aged Care - all time worked in excess of 10 hours per day 150% for the first two hours and 200% thereafter 150% for the first two hours and 200% thereafter 200% 250% Casual Aged Care - all time worked in excess of 10 hours per day 187.5% for the first two hours and 250% thereafter 187.5% for the first two hours and 250% thereafter 250% 312.5%
(b) The rates for casual Employees in clause 24.3 (a) are in substitution for and not cumulative upon the casual loading prescribed in clause 10.6.
Part-Time and Casual Employees. A. Part-Time Employees
(a) A part-time employee is one who is permanently appointed by the Employer to work a specified number of hours which are less than those prescribed for a full-time employee.
(b) By agreement between the Employer and employee, the specified number of hours may be balanced over a week, a fortnight or four (4) weeks.
(c) An employee whose hours are averaged over four (4) weeks shall be paid each week or fortnight according to the employee’s average weekly or fortnightly hours as is appropriate.
(d) Provided further that there shall be no interruption to the continuity of employment merely by reason of an employee, whose hours are balanced over a fortnight or over four (4) weeks, not working in any one week in accordance with paragraph (b).
11.2 Permanent part time employees shall be paid an hourly rate calculated on the basis of one thirty- eighth of the appropriate rate prescribed by Clause 14, Salaries, of this Agreement and, where applicable, one thirty eighth of the appropriate allowance or allowances prescribed by Xxxxxx 15, Special Allowances, of this Agreement, with a minimum payment of four for each start, and one thirty eighth of the appropriate allowances prescribed by Clause 18, Uniform and Laundry Allowances of this Agreement, but shall not be entitled to an additional day off or part thereof, as prescribed by subclauses 23.3 and 23.5 of Clause 23, Hours of Work and Free Time of Employees Other Than Directors of Nursing.
11.3 Four (4) weeks' Annual Leave on ordinary pay is to be granted per annum. Annual leave shall accrue progressively during a year of service according to the employee’s ordinary hours of work and accumulates from year to year. The provisions of subclauses 28.5 to 28.14 of Clause 28, Annual Leave and Public Holidays, and Clause 29, Annual Leave Loading, of this Agreement shall apply to employees engaged under ‘A. Part-Time Employees’ of this clause. The remaining provisions of Clause 28, Annual Leave and Public Holidays shall not apply.
11.4 A public holiday occurring on an ordinary working day shall be allowed to employees without loss of pay; provided that an employee who is required to and does work on a public holiday shall have one day or one half day, as appropriate, added to their period of annual leave and be paid at the rate of one half time extra to the time actually worked. Such payment is in lieu of any additional rate for shift work or weekend work which would otherwise be payable had the day...
Part-Time and Casual Employees. On each day of work, part-time and casual employees will receive - • one twenty minute paid rest pause when more than four hours and less than eight hours are worked; or • an aggregate period of thirty minutes for the purpose of paid rest pauses when more than eight hours are worked.
Part-Time and Casual Employees. 40.01 All Articles of this Collective Agreement apply to Part-time Employees except the following:
(a) Article 14: Hours of Work
(a) The normal hours of work for Part-time Employees shall be less than eighty (80) hours over a period of fourteen (14) calendar days and the normal daily hours of work shall/ may be less than eight (8) hours a day exclusive of meal periods; An unpaid meal period of not less than thirty (30) minutes shall be provided if the Employee is required to work at least six (6) hours in a day; No split shifts shall be worked by any Employee except by mutual agreement;
Part-Time and Casual Employees. 12.01 A Part-Time Employee will be offered, in seniority order and subject to qualifications, all available part-time work.
12.02 Part-Time Employees will be assigned to a regular shift which does not exceed twenty-four (24) hours in a week. A part-time shift can be established where there is not sufficient work to establish a full-time shift.
12.03 Unless otherwise specified, all articles contained in this Agreement shall apply to Part-Time Employees.
12.04 A Casual Employee is an employee of the Employer who may be offered work on an ad-hoc basis to cover the following:
1. Illness and injury
2. Periodic training requirements
3. Covering contingency staff requirements arising out of irregular operational situations.
4. Vacation coverage
12.05 Casual employees shall not be required to become Union Members. Should a permanent full-time or part-time position become available the Employer may choose to offer the position to a current on-call casual employee. If the on-call casual employee accepts the aforementioned position they will be required to become a Union member, and will be subject to the terms and conditions of the collective agreement.
12.06 Casual employees shall not be used to deprive Full time or Part-time employees of their regular hours or overtime hours on their regular shifts.
12.07 When On-Call Casual employees are being assigned work in the bargaining unit they will be paid as outlined in Article 14 (classifications and rates of pay) of the collective agreement.
12.08 On-Call Casual employees will not be offered work while qualified bargaining unit employees are laid off.
12.09 At no time shall Part-Time Employee schedules exceed thirty percent (30%) of the Full-Time staffing schedules with the exception of vacation coverage.
Part-Time and Casual Employees. A part-time employee shall receive in lieu of fringe benefits (being those benefits to an employee paid in whole or in part by the Employer including sick time, life insurance, extended health, dental), an amount equal to nine percent (9%), (effective January 1st, 2018) an amount equal to ten (10%) of her regular straight time hourly rate for all straight time hours paid.
Part-Time and Casual Employees. (a) Public Holiday on a Scheduled Work Day Part-Time and Casual employees required to work on a Public Holiday as set out in Article 14.01 shall receive:
(i) one and one-half times (1½) their regular rate of pay for the hours worked that day: and
(ii) holiday pay calculated by using the average of the daily hours worked in the preceding four weeks.
Part-Time and Casual Employees. 23.1. The employer may engage a part time employee up to the full time hours of 152 hours per 4 week period and be paid at the ordinary rate of pay. Additional hours worked up to the full time hours shall be included in the calculation for the purposes of accruals related to sick leave and annual leave (excluding casual employees).
23.2. The employer may engage a casual employee for up to 1300 hours per annum. A casual employee may be engaged for a minimum period of one hour, including callouts. Additional hours worked by part time and casual employees that exceed full time hours of 152 hours per 4 week period shall be paid out at ordinary rates at end of current pay period.
23.3. Incremental advancement shall be paid on a “years of service” basis.
Part-Time and Casual Employees. An employee employed on less than a full time basis may be engaged as a part- time or casual employee. The spread of ordinary hours for such employees will be provided to them in writing before their commencement of employment.
Part-Time and Casual Employees. An employee shall pay contributions pursuant to this clause in respect of a part-time employee employed by it if the basic earnings of the employee exceed $200 for that calendar month. An employee shall pay contributions pursuant to this clause in respect of a casual employee employed by it if the basic earnings of the employee exceed $200 for that calendar month.
