Procedures for Filling Vacancies. 1. Prior to filling, on a permanent basis, any vacancy created in the bargaining unit by a transfer, retirement or termination, the Board shall post all vacancies for interested personnel to apply. All qualified in-house employees shall have equal opportunities to apply and be considered for promotional positions. 2. In appointing a replacement for a vacancy, factors to be considered may include, but not be limited to, up to three (3) years of performance appraisals, academic background, seniority, attendance, qualifications and skills, interview performance, if requested, and previous test results if required for the position. Probationary and substitute employees are eligible to apply and may be considered for promotional vacancies only after it is determined that there are no fully qualified regular employees who have skills appropriate to the position to be filled. Priority for interview for such positions shall be given to lateral transfer applicants. If a lateral transfer is not granted, the Board shall fill the vacancy through the normal promotional selection procedures. 3. When a probationary or substitute employee's name appears on the spread sheet, it will be noted that such employee is not eligible to be interviewed unless there are no qualified full-time regular employees. 4. All final offers of employment, including but not limited to transfers and reassignments, shall be made through the Human Resources Office. No offers of employment, except those authorized through these procedures shall be deemed valid. 5. The Board agrees to the development of a fair and consistent testing situation. Issues to be addressed shall include, but not be limited to: testing site, equipment, frequency of testing and scoring of the tests used. Equipment used in testing shall be maintained in good condition. Employees shall have the right to make an appointment to review the results of their tests and to receive feedback. 6. Employees selected to fill vacant promotional postings shall be entitled to assume their new duties within fifteen (15) working days of the date of acceptance of the position. Extensions of this period shall only be by mutual agreement between the employee and the appropriate supervisor. Interview and selection shall be completed in a reasonable period of time. 7. Employees who are asked to interview during the work day shall be given TDE assignment for such interview time.

Procedures for Filling Vacancies. 6 To assure that employees are given equal consideration in filling professional job 7 vacancies for the following school year, the following procedures shall be used: 8 1. All vacancies and new positions shall be posted via e-mail to each employee and 9 the Association through the last day of the student school year. After that time, 10 they will be posted on the Public Schools Personnel Cooperative website. 11 2. The District shall clearly set forth the procedures for applying for vacancies and 12 where the qualifications for the individual positions may be obtained. 13
Procedures for Filling Vacancies. 4.1 When an existing bargaining unit position becomes vacant or a new position is created, the District shall post notice of the job opening for at least five (5) days at each District site during which time employees may apply for the position. This Article does not preclude the District from advertising concurrently outside the District for these five (5) days and for an additional five (5) days. 4.2 The notice of the job opening shall include: job title, the job site, number of hours per day, days per week and months per year assigned to the position and the deadline for filing for the vacancy. When a new position is posted for the first time, the job description and minimum qualifications shall be attached to the notice of the job opening.
Procedures for Filling Vacancies. ‌ The Board shall provide the FOPE with a copy of all current bargaining unit job titles and descriptions and thereafter, all new and revised job titles and descriptions consistent with those currently covered by this Agreement, shall be provided to the FOPE prior to Board approval. When a vacancy is to be filled, the Board shall first comply with the provisions of Article 11 (Recall) and then Article 6 (Transfers). E. The Notice of Vacancy shall include the title of the position, calendar, work location, salary range, classification, qualifications of the position, test score requirements, effective date of the position, and deadline for, filing an application and/or resume for the vacancy, and the name of the person to whom the application is to be sent. No employee shall be denied the right to apply for a vacancy as conveyed through the provisions of this article when preferences are listed in the job vacancy posting. F. No vacancy shall be filled prior to the closing date, as posted on the Notice of Vacancy. G. The Notice of Vacancy shall remain posted for not less than seven (7) working days before the deadline for applying for the position. H. Prior to applying for a vacancy, the applicant must be qualified for the position through the District Testing Program. When the qualifications and past performance are substantially equal, preference shall be given to permanent employees and among such employees, those with the greatest bargaining unit seniority. I. Procedures for Filling Vacancies. (a) Bargaining unit vacancies shall be advertised through appropriate professional channels. (b) Each candidate interviewed for a job position in the bargaining unit shall be provided with the URL addresses for the UFBOT-UFF Agreement. (c) Search committees composed of faculty members from the appropriate department(s) shall be established by the department chair for all tenure-track faculty appointments and other faculty appointments as may be appropriate or as specified in the department’s bylaws. No less than three-fourths of the committee’s members shall be faculty members in the department. A faculty search committee may include all faculty members in the department. (d) The search committee shall receive applications, screen candidates, and make recommendations for these appointment vacancies. (1) After the interview process has been completed, faculty members of the department shall vote by secret ballot to register their recommendations. The faculty search committee shall recommend to the chair for possible appointment those candidates it deems acceptable. (2) In instances in which more than one (1) department is involved in a search (such as interdisciplinary programs), the department in which tenure would be earned is responsible for the above, and the department chair shall make appropriate arrangements for the other department(s) involved to participate in the process. Three-fourths of the committee members shall be faculty from the departments involved.

If there are no qualified volunteers, the least senior employees who are currently performing work in that position will be placed on the vacancies remaining on the adjacent shift. C. Vacancies created by using the above procedure will be filled, if necessary, using poll and draft provisions in Departments/Teams which the Company designates.

Procedures for Filling Vacancies. 6-1 When a vacancy occurs due to the resignation or termination of an employee and the position is currently a budgeted position, the position will be posted within five work days. All vacancies for classified positions, including new positions, to be filled by the District, shall be posted for five work (5) days. The vacancy notice shall include the opening and closing dates and time, job title, wage classification, confidential or classified location, and all qualifications required to fill the position. Applications received after the closing date and time will not be considered for the first round of the interview process. If the interviews go into a second round the late applications or letters of interest will be considered. Applications and letters of interest will be date stamped by the district office staff upon receipt. Applications can be accepted until the position is filled and as long as it continues to be posted. If the position is posted, "or until filled," a supervisor shall consider all applications or letters of interest received up until the date the first interview is scheduled. This will be considered the first round of interviews. (NEG. 8/8/2018) 6-2 All current qualified employees, including substitutes on the current call in list that complete and submit a letter of interest to the district office will be granted an interview. The district shall make every effort to fill the position within 30 days.
Procedures for Filling Vacancies. 9.01 VACANCIES & NEW POSITIONS (a) All vacant or new full-time flex positions shall be posted within seven (7) calendar days from when the Company assigns an employee to the position. The position will remain posted for seven (7) calendar days. Such postings shall state the required qualifications and department and will be posted on the bulletin board in the cloakroom and employee lounge. (b) The successful applicant’s name will be posted for five (5) calendar days within the twenty-one (21) calendar days of the posting coming down. If an applicant is on vacation and is not available for an interview, then the twenty-one (21) calendar day period will be extended to accommodate the applicant’s vacation until all applicants have the opportunity to be interviewed. (c) The successful applicant will start the new job within fourteen (14) calendar days after being notified or paid the new rate within fourteen (14) calendar days of being notified, providing the new rate is higher than the employee’s previous rate. (d) Auxiliary employees who wish to fill vacancies in other work areas are required to fill out a request for transfer form. The Company will, when an auxiliary vacancy arises, award the job to the senior qualified auxiliary employee who has requested the transfer. Auxiliary employees will only be allowed to request a transfer twice (2x) in a calendar year. (e) Any fulltime flex position that is anticipated to be temporarily vacant for longer than ninety (90) calendar days shall be posted and the process set out above will be applied. The language of 9.01(b) above will not apply.
