Employee Evaluation Procedures. All certificated employees recognized by this Agreement are to be evaluated in a regular and systematic method as described in Certificated Evaluation Form (attached as Exhibit J).
1. Teachers to be formally evaluated during the current year shall be so notified by October
a. Permanent teachers shall be evaluated no less than once every two years.
b. Beginning 2012-13, unit members with permanent status who have been employed at lest ten (10) years with the school district, are defined as highly qualified by the federal No Child Left Behind Act of 2001, and whose previous evaluation rated the employee as meeting or exceeding standards, shall be evaluated every (3) years.
c. Probationary teachers shall receive a minimum of two formal evaluations a year, one prior to winter recess and one in the spring.
d. Permanent teachers receiving an overall unsatisfactory evaluation shall be evaluated on, at least, an annual basis, until the teacher achieves an overall satisfactory evaluation or is separated from the District.
e. Teachers hired after October 1 shall be formally evaluated as determined by the site administrator.
2. Permanent teachers not notified by October 1 shall not be formally evaluated unless the teacher has been given a thirty (30) day written notice no later than December 1 to institute the formal evaluation process. This evaluation notice must be approved by the District prior to implementation.
3. Nothing in the procedure shall preclude any additional evaluation conferences, observations, or formal evaluations at the discretion of the evaluator. Nothing in this procedure shall preclude the teacher from requesting additional conferences or evaluations.
4. The final evaluation shall be delivered to the teacher no later than May 1. The judgments reached by the evaluator are not subject to the grievance procedure.
5. The evaluator shall be the unit member’s immediate supervisor and/or other site/central office administrator. Any employee who receives an unsatisfactory evaluation may be provided a subsequent performance evaluation if the District deems it appropriate using the same evaluation procedure as described above. The evaluator of the employee will take affirmative steps to assist the employee to make the necessary improvements in instruction to overcome the unsatisfactory evaluation. Employee Evaluation Procedures. Personnel File Review Each employee shall have the right at any reasonable time to review his/her personnel file. A representative of the Association may, at the employee's request, accompany the employee to the review. The employee shall at any time have the right to respond to materials found in his/her personnel file.
Employee Evaluation Procedures. The District and WSCTA agreed to the following language revisions to Article 11 – Employee Evaluation Procedures: The District and WSCTA agree the Guide to Understanding the Teacher Evaluation Process and evaluation forms will be included in the WSCTA Contract as an Appendix. Changes to the guide or forms will be made by mutual consent of the Association and District.
11.3 Every temporary or probationary certificated employee shall be evaluated by the administration in writing at least once each school year. • Unit Members will be notified within the first four weeks of school that they will be evaluated, and a pre-evaluation conference will be scheduled. • By the end of the first quarter, the evaluator will meet with the unit member to seek agreement of the evaluation process, the CSTP/Academic Standard requirements, Employee Goal Sheet and other related evaluation requirements. • Unit Members will have a minimum of two pre-arranged classroom observations. • Unit Members will address two or more course specific Academic Standards, plus CSTP standards two, three and four. • Unit Members shall complete the Certification Goal Sheet prior to the first classroom observation. • Classroom observations will be a minimum of thirty (30) minutes, including the beginning and end of a lesson as pre-arranged by the unit member and evaluator. • The first observation will be completed by December 1. • The evaluator will hold a conference with the unit member about each observation within three (3) school days of each observation. • Unit members will receive the written final evaluation no later than thirty (30) days before the last day of the school year, with the final evaluation conference scheduled no more than three (3) days later.
11.4 All permanent certificated employees may be evaluated by the administration in writing every year. All permanent unit members who have been employed between three and ten years will be evaluated at least every other year.
11.4.1 All permanent unit members to be evaluated within a school year will be notified within the first four (4) weeks of school.
11.4.2 For those permanent unit members who have been employed at least ten years with the school district, are highly qualified as defined in 20 U.S.C. Sec. 7801 (ESEA), and whose immediately previous evaluation rated the employees as “standards met or exceeded” evaluation will be done every five years by mutual agreement of the unit member and the evaluator. Employee Evaluation Procedures. A. The provisions of this Article constitute the procedures for the evaluation and assessment of the instructional performance of certificated employees as set forth in Education Code §§44660, et seq., commonly referred to as the Xxxxx Xxxx, or its successor.
1. Evaluation and assessment shall be made on a continuing basis. The evaluation and assessment of the performance of each certificated employee shall be made as follows:
a. For a non-tenured teacher, at least two full pre-observation conference, formal observation, post observation conference evaluation cycles shall be conducted.
b. For a permanent teacher, at least one full pre-observation conference, formal observation, post observation conference evaluation cycle once every other school year as provided by Education Code §44663(a). By mutual agreement, permanent teacher who meets all of the criteria in Education Code §44664(a)(3) may request to be subject to the full pre-observation conference, formal observation, post observation conference evaluation cycle at least every five years if all of the following criteria apply: • Employed by the Employer for 10 years; • Teaching in a position required to be filled by a “highly qualified professional” by the federal No Child Left Behind Act of 2001, • Previous evaluation rated the employee as meeting or exceeding standards; and, five year cycle.
c. Except for any remediation activities, evaluations shall be concluded by the deadline set forth in the Education Code. The final evaluation shall be submitted to the employee not later than 30 days before the last school day scheduled on the school calendar.
2. Nothing in this Article shall restrict the right of the District to evaluate employees as often as it determines to be in its best interests.
3. The California Standards for the Teaching Profession shall be utilized in the evaluation process.
4. The evaluation of instructional unit members shall not be based solely on the District's instructional goals and shall take into account, among other things: • The instructional techniques and strategies used by the employee. • The employee's adherence to the curriculum. • The establishment and maintenance of a suitable learning environment within the scope of the employee's responsibilities. • The performance of those non-instructional duties and responsibilities, including supervisory and advisory duties, as may be prescribed by the District. Employee Evaluation Procedures. 1000 Evaluation Schedule and Conference: It is recognized by both parties that the primary objective of evaluation is to improve the quality of instructional support and services to students and the school community. Additionally, the parties recognize that the process and the procedure for evaluating and the instrument used shall be for assisting and measuring the progress and success of the Support Staff member and is an integral part of any effective educational program. Support Staff members will be evaluated not less than one time per year no later than May 1st. Any Support Staff member who receives a rating other than meets or exceeds expectations in any category will be evaluated at least twice the following year, with the first evaluation to occur no later than December 1st. 1001 Evaluation Receipt and Signature: Following the completion of the formal evaluation, the evaluator shall furnish the Support Staff member with a copy of the written evaluation within ten (10) work days of the employee evaluation. Both the evaluator and said Staff member shall date and sign all copies of the written evaluation. The signature of said member shall not indicate agreement with the written evaluation, but rather shall indicate that the conference and discussion have been held and that said staff member received a copy of the written evaluation. 1002 Evaluation Rebuttal and Personnel File Copy: If the Support Staff member feels his / her formal evaluation is incomplete, or inaccurate, he / she may put his / her objections in writing in his or her personnel file within ten (10) work days of receipt of the evaluation. A copy of all formal written evaluations and any attached written objections shall be placed in the Support Staff member’s official personnel file. 1003 Evaluation Committee: A committee consisting of at least two (2) Support Staff members selected by the Association and at least two (2) Administrators will have the responsibility for monitoring the evaluation instrument. The committee is charged with on-going review of the instrument and process, and shall meet at least one (1) time each year for these purposes. This review will be initiated by a member of the PGESP. Any changes to the instrument must be approved by the Administration and by a majority of the Support Staff. Any revisions to the plan need to be presented to the Support Staff by May 15th, so that voting may take place prior to the end of the school year. 1004 Personnel File 1004.1
Employee Evaluation Procedures. The School and Sponsor agree that the School will implement ADEPT for the evaluation of certified teachers. The School agrees that all certified teachers in the charter school must be assisted and evaluated in a manner consistent with the Sponsor’s State Board of Education–approved ADEPT plan for induction, formal evaluation, and goals-‐based evaluation. The School is responsible for ensuring the fidelity of the implementation of the ADEPT system. The Sponsor is responsible for staff training and program implementation. The Sponsor agrees to disseminate all ADEPT-‐related information from the SCDE to the School and to report the charter school data to the SCDE.

Employee Evaluation Procedures.
Section 1 - Evaluation Procedure A. Every non-permanent and Preschool/Headstart Program Teacher shall be evaluated by the employee's evaluator in writing at least once each school year no later than sixty (60) calendar days prior to the end of the employee’s instructional year. (See Article XXV for Continuous School Program [CSP] language, which is suspended). Such employee shall have his/her first formal classroom observation prior to Winter Recess.
Employee Evaluation Procedures. 5.1 Each employee shall be evaluated in writing by their supervisor at least once each year. The supervisor shall discuss the evaluation with the employee and shall provide the employee a copy of the written evaluation. The employee shall have the right to respond to negative evaluations in accordance with Section 5.4 below.
5.2 An employee may inspect materials in their own personnel file that may serve as a basis for affecting the employee’s status of employment, except materials which:
a. were obtained prior to employment;
b. were prepared by identifiable examination committee members; or
c. were obtained in connection with a promotional examination.
5.3 An employee may inspect materials in their own personnel file, except for the above specified items, during the normal business hours of the District Office, at times other than when the employee is required to render service. Such inspection shall take place under the supervision of a district administrator or designee. An employee’s representative, with written authorization, may also inspect an employee’s personnel file.
5.4 No adverse comments, except the above-specified items, may be placed in an employee’s personnel file without allowing the employee an opportunity to review the comment thereon. The review and comment upon materials of an adverse nature shall take place during the normal business hours of the District Office and at a time when the employee can be released from duty, as determined by the supervisor. The employee shall not submit a request in advance to the supervisor to leave the normal place of work during assigned duty times for such review and comment. Written comments from the employee regarding adverse materials are to be submitted for inclusion in the personnel file within ten (10) working days of the initial administrative review.
5.5 All material placed in an employee’s personnel file shall be dated and signed by the contributor.
Employee Evaluation Procedures. A. General
1. Members of the unit are formally evaluated by their principal or his/her designee (or immediate supervisor in the case of the District Office) at least on an annual basis, except that
a. The unit member has been employed by the District for at least ten years;
b. The unit member is considered "highly qualified" within the meaning of the "No Child Left Behind Act of 2001" (20 U.S.C. Sec. 6301, et seq.), as defined in 20 U.S.C. Sec. 7801;
c. The unit member's previous evaluation rated the employee as meeting or exceeding standards; and
d. The evaluator and the unit member agree to such an evaluation schedule. The unit member or the evaluator may withdraw consent for this extended evaluation schedule at any time."
2. Department chairpersons shall submit a written observation report to the principal after discussing the observation with the teacher. Both the teacher and the department chairperson shall sign the observation report and retain copies.
3. In the case of personnel organizationally located in the District Office but who operate at more than one (1) school, the principals or their designees shall submit written observation reports to the appropriate Assistant Superintendent or Director in the same manner as department chairpersons submit them to the principal. If there should be a question raised as to the observation by either the observer or the observee, either may request that the matter be referred to the immediate supervisor. Evaluation reports shall be prepared by the principal or assistant principal (or immediate supervisor in the case of the District Office). Both the teacher and the person preparing the evaluation shall sign the evaluation report and retain copies. The teacher may file a rebuttal of the evaluation to be attached hereto.
