WORK AND OVERTIME. The regular scheduled work week for each employee consists of five eight-hour days, Mondaythrough Friday, inclusive. However, this is not to be construed as a guarantee of full employment. In the case of shift schedules starting on Sunday night, the beginning of the shift will be construed as being a scheduled Monday shift for all intents and purposes. All employees are eligible for two ten-minute rest periods, during each scheduled eight-hour shift. All employees also have a minute wash-up period prior to the end of each half shift. In the case of continuous operations, the rest periods may be staggered. Employees are eligible for a ten-minute rest period following the completion of the regular shift prior to the commencement of an overtime period, provided the employee is scheduled to work one hour or more and provided the employee receives one wash-up period of five minutes only taken at the completion of the overtime. In reference to the additional rest period in it may be taken either before or after the regular shift.” Employees who work a straight eight hour shift or on a scheduled three-shift operation, will have an allowance of thirty minutes for lunch and will have their lunch period paid for by the Company, unless otherwise mutually agreed to between the Union and the Company. An employee will receive payment at the rate of time and half for all time worked outside scheduled hours as outlined in Local Agreements, and for all time worked on Saturday, and double time for all time worked on a Sunday. But notwithstanding anything contained in the Local Agreements, overtime payments will be made for any work performed outside an employee’s eight hour shift as previously arranged. An employee who for the convenience of the Company is required to performwork on a shift other than his/her regular scheduled shift as previously arranged will receive payment at the rate of time and one-half for time worked over eight hours in any continuous period of twenty-four hours. This clause applies only to the normal five day work week. Where the Company has given at least forty-eight hours notice of overtime to employees (and such notice will also be given to the committeeperson or alternate concerned) no employee may refuse to acceptthe overtime compelling and legitimate personal reasons (which will be tendered to the Company at the time of advice of the assignment) or the employee would have completed hours of work during thatweek. WORK AND OVERTIME. 2.6.1 A workweek of a full-time employee will consist of five (5) consecutive days of no more than eight (8) hours on any one day, to be completed in an eight-and-one-half (8-1/2) hour period on a Monday through Friday basis (or a different five (5) consecutive day period if bargained for a new position). Work hours for bus drivers will be calculated and paid to the one-tenth (1/10) of an hour. The workweek for substitutes will begin on Monday and end on Sunday. Upon mutual agreement between the district and employee, exceptions to the normal workweek can be implemented to allow a longer workday and corresponding time off where the workload allows. Such exceptions will require the written approval of both parties and cannot result in additional cost to the district, including changes to shift premiums.

WORK AND OVERTIME. A member who is required to work overtime as set out in Section above and who so works for a period of two (2) hours or more beyond the end of his normal shift, shall be paid up to Three Dollars ($3.00) on presentation of a food receipt and thereafter a similar allowance or, an addition to the allowance of Three Dollars shall be appropriate for every additional four (4) hour period worked, provided the time actually spent at meals will not be computed as overtime. A member shall also qualify for the allowance if, during his regular tour of duty, he is on assignment outside the Region for a period in excess of three (3) hours, provided the time actually spent at meals will not be computed.
