We work with teachers and administrators to identify the students who have significant challenges in their day-to-day lives such as below-average Xxxxxxx Xxxxxxxx Speakeasy Media Foundation academic performance, behavior issues, and/or stress from their personal lives. We also provide our program via collaborative partner organizations who serve our target demographic including Boys & Girls Clubs of the Suncoast and the City of St Petersburg Cohorts of Champions youth program. MM serves adults with one-hour yoga and mindfulness classes 5 days per week at south St. Petersburg recreation centers including Xxxxx Xxxxx and Xxxxxx X. Xxxx as well as the Xxxxxxxxx Center, Mt. Zion Church, and the Xxxxxxx Museum. MM programming operates within the framework of our core values of diversity, integrity, health, service and sustainability. Organization Programmatic Background. Please describe the programming your organization offers to the community and the length of time it has been doing so. What does your organization do and how long has it been doing it? Today, Gulf Coast Dental Outreach (GCDO) serves patients on Monday and Fridays from donated space at the Tarpon Springs Health Department Dental Unit. GCDO offers comprehensive dental care to its patients, including cleanings, X-rays and exams, fillings, extractions and restorative work including dentures, partial dentures and crowns. Specialized treatment is available through a network of oral surgeons, who have agreed to see the clinic's patients at their own offices at no charge or significantly-reduced fees. Key programs include new patient recruitment, which is done quarterly through a telephone open enrollment process, periodic exams, which involve full mouth X-rays and oral examinations by volunteer dentists, oral hygiene, which involves twice-yearly cleanings by paid and volunteer dental hygienists, extractions, involving in-office work and referral to oral surgeons for more complex cases, endodontics/root canals, done by the clinic's referral specialists, occasional periodontal work, done also by referral specialists, and restoration, including fillings, dentures, crowns and partials. The clinic offers each patient a vital health screening at each visit that informs patients of other potential health issues that may not be dental in nature. The population served through Gulf Coast Dental Outreach consists of adults who are within 150% of the federal poverty limit, adjusted for dependents, and are uninsured or underinsured. Patients often endure dental issues until pain forces them to area emergency rooms, where they are typically given antibiotics and released. Since the basic dental issues are not addressed by the health care system, the issues return and a cycle of pain-emergency room treatment-release begins and continues unless legitimate dental intervention occurs. In an effort to combat this crisis in access to affordable dental care Gulf Coast Dental Outreach was founded 14 years ago by Xx. Xxxxxx Xxxxxxxx.

What does your organization do and how long has it been doing it? We are artists, advocates, and activists tapping into the power of art to help build happier, healthier communities. Art is a form of human expression and is for all people, not just those with access to the tools, supplies, and education to participate. Founded in 2013 with a mission of “art for ALL,” NOMADstudio—the Neighborhood Oriented Mobile Art + Design Studio—engages people in acts of creative expression in places and spaces where there is often little or no access to arts programming. NOMADstudio programs include the Rolling Studio, our four-wheeled, 500-square-foot mobile canvas that delivers art activities to Tampa Bay communities; our Next Stop Studio, which regularly visits places like group children's homes and shelters, and helps to alleviate the stress and trauma caused by abuse, neglect, and housing insecurity; Justice Studio, our in-house art studio and group mentoring program for youth who are or have been detained at juvenile detention facilities; and our Studio on the Block, which removes transportation barriers and meets people where they are to deliver safe, engaging art activities to children and families. Our Studio on the Block MicroCamp program was selected for inclusion as a “Promising Practices Case Study” in the University of Florida (UF) Center for Arts in Medicine’s Arts and Creative Placemaking (WE-Making) Repository, which maps the relationship between place-based arts and cultural strategies, social cohesion, and equitable community wellbeing; facilitates field-wide learning; and encourages similar practices in communities across the country. NOMADstudio was also invited to be on the opening panel at Creating Healthy Communities: Advancing health and health equity through arts and public health collaborations (October 10-11, 2022), a national arts and health conference presented by the UF Center for Arts in Medicine. Organization Programmatic Background. Please describe the programming your organization offers to the community and the length of time it has been doing so. What does your organization do and how long has it been doing it? Our dedicated staff provides parents comfort in knowing their child(xxx) are having fun while being cared for in our safe environment. Since February 2021, we offer childcares during non-traditional work hours. Our center is open Monday through Friday, from 3pm to10pm, and Saturday and Sunday, from 7am -7pm. We also provide before and after school care with transportation options. Please describe the community need that exists for your programming. If you are able to cite quantitative, local data, that will strengthen your proposal. As you may know, COVID-19 created a significant influx of childcare center closures throughout the US. A recent study conducted by the US Chamber of Chamber Foundation reports that 50% of parents have not returned to work due to inadequate childcare, and 60% of parents will need to change their childcare arrangement within the next year. While these numbers address a growing national need, essential workers in South St. Petersburg are represented at an alarming rate. 98% of our clientele are essential workers, and 90% are still recovering from the economic effects of COVID. Without affordable childcare, parents would be forced to find childcare during working hours. TweetyB’s caters to essential workers by providing childcare services at under-market rates during non-traditional work hours, allowing parents to work the hours necessary to support our community and their individual family needs. Additionally, the majority of students enrolled in our afterschool program attend a school with a less than average rating. Parents rely on our afterschool program to assist with classwork and school projects Describe your organization’s negative economic impact arising from the COVID-19 pandemic.
