Wages (Overtime) a) Employees covered by this Agreement shall be compensated at one and one-half (1½) times their regular hourly rate (as defined by federal law) for time worked in excess of eight (8) hours per workday or forty (40) hours per workweek. Overtime may be performed only pursuant to specific supervisory authority.
b) The University shall maintain separate lists for bargaining unit employees within Housing, Transportation, and Rehabilitation based upon their respective classifications that summarize the number of (1) overtime hours worked; and (2) the number of overtime hours that were declined by those employees. At least once every calendar week, the University will update these overtime lists in order to incorporate any additional overtime hours that were either worked or declined by bargaining unit employees. The University will make these lists reasonably available for review by the affected bargaining unit employees. When the department or unit, within its discretion, determines that it is necessary to assign overtime work within a classification, the University will assign that work to the bargaining unit employee on the pertinent overtime list who has the least amount of overtime hours worked and/or declined. Within Facilities and Services, the assignment of overtime shall be made without regard to whether the employee is being paid a prevailing wage rate or a negotiated rate or whether the assignment entails construction work or maintenance work. If that employee declines the overtime assignment, the overtime assignment then will be offered to the remaining employees on the list in ascending order of overtime hours worked and/or declined. Employees assigned to the UI Ride shuttle shall be removed from the non-emergency overtime rotation for the calendar dates assigned to the UI Ride shuttle. Nothing herein shall prohibit an employee assigned to the UI ride shuttle from working non-emergency overtime on days not assigned to the shuttle. Notwithstanding the foregoing, this Agreement does not prohibit the University from declining to offer an overtime assignment to a particular bargaining unit employee when that employee lacks the requisite CDL license to operate the motor vehicle needed to perform the overtime assignment; or when the particular assignment already is being performed by a bargaining unit employee at the end of his or her regular shift. Wages (Overtime). A) Unless otherwise provided in this Agreement, bargaining unit employees shall be compensated at one and one-half (1½) times their regular hourly rate (basic straight time hourly rate plus any applicable differentials plus any other amounts required by federal law to be included in the rate of pay for purposes of computing overtime) for time worked in excess of eight (8) hours per day or forty (40) hours per week, or seven and one-half (7½) hours per day or thirty-seven and one-half (37½) hours per week, depending upon the classification. Benefit hours paid, such as vacation, sick leave, funeral leave, jury duty, and approved events, shall be counted as hours worked for the purpose of calculating overtime. Overtime may only be performed pursuant to specific supervisory direction.
B) Overtime for Crash Rescue and Security Coordinators and Crash Rescue and Security Specialists in GROUP R is defined as all hours worked at the direction of the University in excess of the regular scheduled work shift (twelve (12) hours), or in excess of one hundred forty-four (144) hours (normal work period) in twenty-four (24) consecutive days, and shall be compensated either as overtime pay or as compensatory time off at the rate of one and one-half (1½) times the employee’s regular straight time hourly rate. Overtime only may be performed pursuant to specific supervisory direction.
C) Except as set forth in this Section's paragraph (D) below, overtime shall be divided as equally as possible among eligible employees who volunteer for overtime work. An employee who does not volunteer is not relieved from his/her obligation to work overtime, if the operation requires, but non-voluntary overtime will be assigned as equally as possible on a basis of inverse seniority.
D) For employees in GROUPS C, E, G, J and S, overtime that is to be worked following a scheduled shift or workweek first shall be offered to the employee(s) assigned to the unit in which the overtime occurs. If the unit employee(s) are unable to perform the overtime work, the overtime shall be assigned in accordance with the provisions of this Section's paragraph (C), above.

b) The Employer may require employees covered herein to work overtime. The Employer will make known to the employees expected to do overtime work the probability of its becoming necessary as far in advance thereof as practicable, except in unforeseen cases or emergency.
c) Overtime shall be divided as equally as possible among eligible employees who volunteer for overtime work. An employee who does not volunteer is not relieved from his/her obligation to work overtime if the operation requires, but non-voluntary overtime will be assigned on a basis of inverse seniority.
d) Overtime for employees in Group B will be as follows:
1. Overtime shall be paid for in accordance with Policy and Rules except that overtime worked on calendar Sundays will be compensated at double time. (Deviation from Policy and Rules).
2. When an employee from the Steam Distribution unit is required to work more than one (1) hour immediately before or after his/her regularly scheduled shift, in addition to his/her regular shift, he/she shall receive one of the following:
Wages (Overtime). Employees shall be compensated in accordance with the wage schedules attached to this Agreement (Appendix A). The attached wage schedules shall be considered a part of this Agreement.
1. All employees covered by this Agreement shall receive one and one-half (1 1/2) times their regular hourly rate of pay for all “hours worked" in excess of forty (40) hours in a payroll week.
Wages (Overtime) a) All time worked over eight (8) hours in one (1) shift shall be overtime.
b) Overtime shall be paid on the following basis; time and one-half for the first four (4) hours of overtime on all regular work days and double time thereafter until relieved.
c) Double time shall be paid for all work performed at the Company’s request on the employee’s day off.
d) Employees called into work in emergencies outside their regular working hours shall receive double time for such work and shall be guaranteed at least two (2) hours work or pay for same. This paragraph covers the instance where an employee is called into work on his time off and returns to his home immediately following completion of the work. The employee shall be paid from the time he leaves his home until he telephones upon his return. An on-call employee who is called by phone and clears said call without having to leave his/her residence shall receive a minimum of one hour pay at double time.
e) Employees called into work up to four (4) hours prior to their scheduled tour of duty shall be paid at double time, including travel time to the reporting office.
f) The company and union recognize that extensions of the workday and prearranged overtime may at times be necessary for job continuity and efficiency in order to best meet customer needs. At the same time it is recognized that employees may have prearranged personal obligations that coincide. As such, whenever possible employees will inform their supervisor in advance when they are unable to stay late or work prearranged overtime. Further, the company will make a sincere effort to accommodate employee requests, especially when a valid hardship is noted. This may include soliciting a volunteer replacement (or utilizing the standby employee if available) if that can be done without adding unnecessary delay or cost in order to meet customer needs. Any disputes relating to the application of this provision shall be escalated immediately to the Business Agent (or his/her designate) and the next level of management.
g) The Company agrees to reimburse up to $15.00 (with receipt) for a meal effective date of ratification. Such reimbursement shall be allowed to any employee who performs four (4) or more hours of overtime work after his/her regularly scheduled shift. This clause does not apply to employees covered under the out-of-town provisions.

The University will make every reasonable effort to ensure that any needed overtime work will be distributed as equally as possible in each lesser unit (Illini Union, Campus Recreation, XxXxxxxx Health Center, Xxxxxxx Airport, and Fire Services Institute) among those available for such work, with due consideration given to the requirements for custodial service, with the exception that the distribution of overtime in University Housing and Facilities & Services will be further divided into the following zones or units: University Housing currently services the following buildings and facilities, divided into different zones or areas. Overtime opportunities will be distributed among University Housing employees working these buildings or facilities in accordance with those defined zones or areas. University Housing will notify and bargain with the Union prior to modifying these defined zones or areas.

Wages (Overtime) a) Bargaining unit employees shall be compensated at one and one-half (1 ½) times their regular hourly rate of pay for the first two (2) hours that they are required to work beyond a regularly scheduled eight (8) hour workday occurring Monday through Friday of any given work week. Such employees also shall be compensated at one and one-half (1 ½) times their regular hourly rate of pay for the first eight (8) hours that they are required to work on any given Saturday. All authorized overtime worked in excess of the times set forth within this provision, including overtime work performed on any given Sunday, shall be compensated at two (2) times the employee’s regular hourly rate. All overtime must be authorized in advance by the employee’s supervisor. (e) Where an employee provides service support to the company or directly to a customer over the phone, outside of their regular working hours, they shall be entitled to double time for such work and shall be guaranteed one (1) hour's pay for same. This paragraph differs from (d) in that it covers work performed where the employee does not attend the company or customer premises.
Wages (Overtime). 7.01 All time worked over the employee's scheduled hours in one (1) tour shall be overtime.
7.02 Except where otherwise provided, overtime shall be paid on the following basis: Time and one-half for the first eight (8) hours of overtime during an employee's scheduled work week and double time thereafter.
7.03 Employees called into work outside of their regular working hours shall receive double time for such work and shall be guaranteed at least two (2) hours work or pay for same. This paragraph covers the instance where an employee is called in to work on his time off and returns to his home immediately following completion of the work. The employee shall be paid from the time he leaves his home until he returns.
7.04 Employees called into work up to four (4) hours prior to their scheduled single shift shall be paid at the double time rate for the additional hours worked.
7.05 On call duty is defined as that duty performed by qualified employees who are required by the company to be readily available and fit for emergency service at other than normal working hours. The on call duty employees shall be provided with a pager and cellular phone. On call shall be scheduled on a weekly basis. Scheduling of on call shall be voluntary; however, if no volunteers exist management may assign in reverse order of seniority. The on call schedule shall be established every six months (December/May). No employee shall be on call for back to back weeks. An employee, who is on call on a statutory holiday, will receive a day off in lieu with pay in addition to the applicable overtime rate. The day off will be granted at a time mutually agreed upon by the employee and the supervisor or his designate. Payment for on call duty shall be made at the rate of one hour per day for each day on call. Employees called into work while on call duty shall be paid double time for such work and shall be guaranteed two hours pay at the appropriate rate.
7.06 Prior to the payment of overtime pay to part-time employees such overtime pay will be offered to available full-time employees.
Wages (Overtime). (a) All time worked before and after a full time employee's shift shall be paid at the overtime rate of one and one-half (11/2) times the employee’s regular wage rate. All overtime requires management approval prior to the commencement of the overtime.
(b) A full-time employee called to work on his/her scheduled day off shall be paid at the rate of one and one-half (1½) times the employee's regular hourly wage rate.
(c) A full-time employee recalled to work shall be paid at the rate of one and one half (1½) times the employee's regular hourly wage and shall be guaranteed at least four (4) hours work or four (4) hours pay if the work is unavailable.
(d) Unplanned overtime will first be offered to bargaining unit employees on shift provided that it is deemed reasonable for the employee to work overtime without detriment to the quality of service.
(e) In the event of planned overtime (24 hours or more prior to the commencement of the shift) the company agrees that it will be given by seniority on a rotation basis. Once offered, the employees’ name shall be placed on the bottom of the overtime list. The overtime list shall be opened for employees to opt in or opt out in January, April, July and October of each year.
