HOURS OF WORK - OVERTIME - HOLIDAYS. 1. Five consecutive eight hour days to be worked from Monday through Saturday, inclusive, shall constitute a work week. The scheduled hours of work shall be from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. with one hour for lunch beginning not earlier than 11:00 A.M. and completed no later than 2:00 P.M. When the duties of a job require a regular scheduled working period varying from the foregoing, such schedule shall be mutually arranged by the parties hereto and shall not exceed eight hours a day or forty hours a week. 2. Employees assigned to work which regularly operates twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, including Sundays and Holidays, shall be designated as "shift" employees. The hours for shift employees, covered hereunder, shall be from 8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M., 4:00 P.M. to Midnight, and Midnight to 8:00 A.M., and shall not exceed eight hours a day or forty hours a week. With the consent of the Supervisor, Shift Employees shall have the privilege of exchanging shifts within the same work week by individual arrangement, provided the change can be accomplished without additional costs to the Company. Management, at its discretion, may establish a work week consisting of four (4) ten (10) hour days for a particular work group. The days of the work week will be Monday through Saturday, not necessarily consecutive days. a. The management of each work group will determine/approve the available shifts which will include a 30 minute or 60 minute lunch period. b. Starting time will be no earlier than 6:00 a.m. and no later than 9:00 a.m. Schedules must remain constant once established but may be changed with management’s approval (taking needs of service and seniority into consideration). c. Individuals in a work group working four (4) ten (10) hour days who wish not to participate in the schedule will continue with, or return to a five (5) day work week d. The applicable overtime rate will be paid for all overtime outside of the mutually agreed upon work hours. e. Sick time and vacation time will be charged in ten (10) hour increments (eight (8) hours sick waiting is not changed). f. A holiday, jury duty and funeral leave that falls during the agreed upon work week will be paid in 10 hour increments g. When a holiday falls outside of the mutually agreed work week, an additional eight (8) hours of holiday pay will be paid for a total of 48 hours pay. h. HOURS OF WORK - OVERTIME - HOLIDAYS. Section 1. Five (5) days or forty (40) hours shall constitute a week’s work to be performed as follows: A. Eight (8) hours shall constitute a days work from eight (8:00) a.m. to twelve (12:00) noon and from twelve-thirty (12:30) to four-thirty (4:30) p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Work may start at seven (7:00) a.m. to three-thirty (3:30) p.m. if so, agreed by employees and Employer. B. The last five (5) minutes before the accepted lunch period and five (5) minutes prior to the end of a shift shall be allowed the employee for personal clean up. C. An employee who misses a day of work Monday through Friday shall be allowed to work on Saturday at straight time wages as a make up day. This make up day is on a voluntary basis and no employee shall be compelled to work under this provision against their wishes. Section 2. Overtime at the rate of one and one-half (1½) times the regular scale of wage shall be paid for Sundays, Holidays and all work in excess of forty (40) hours for any one (1) work week. Section 3. Holidays observed by this Agreement are: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Day after Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. No work shall be performed on Labor Day. In the event the above named holidays are changed by legislation, dates designated by such legislation shall be observed.

HOURS OF WORK - OVERTIME - HOLIDAYS. Section 1. A regular workday shall consist of eight (8) continuous hours; provided, however, a normal lunch period not to exceed one (1) hour may be taken, which shall not be considered as a part of the eight (8) hour workday. Section 2. Shifts and day schedules may be changed in emergencies or for specific projects. Section 3. Employees who are called to work after having completed their work shift or on their scheduled days off shall be compensated at the rate of one and one-half (1 1/2) times their regular rate of pay or 1 ½ non-exempt compensatory time. Compensation shall be for no less than two (2) hours for each callout. It is understood that this provision does not apply to work which is a continuation of the workday or when the employee decides to return to work at a later time rather than continue the workday. Section 4. All hours worked over eight (8) hours in a workday or over forty (40) hours in a work week will be compensated for at the rate of one and one-half (1 1/2) times their regular hourly wage or 1 ½ non-exempt compensatory time. Any overtime worked must first be approved by management. There shall be no pyramiding of overtime. The alternate work schedule is defined as four (4) consecutive workdays, each workday consisting of ten (10) hours between 7:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. with one half-hour (1/2) hour unpaid lunch break. The alternate work schedule week shall consist of forty (40) hours; that is, four (4) workdays. Which days are worked and which are taken off are determined by seniority. Start times shall not be altered without mutual agreement. When an alternative work schedule is in effect, all hours worked over ten (10) in a workday or forty (40) hours in a work week will be compensated at the rate of one and a half (1 ½) times the regular hourly wage or 1 ½ non-exempt compensatory time. Section 5. For call-out assignments on an employee's day off reasonable excuses will be honored. However, each employee recognizes it is essential that a special effort is made to cooperate with call-out requests during the fire season or other emergency situations. Employees who wish to volunteer for call-out assignments will sign a list two weeks in advance of the time the employee is volunteering to be available for call outs. Should no employees volunteer, then the Employer will call out the qualified employee with the lowest seniority.   • HOURS OF WORK & OVERTIME Section 15.1 This Article is intended to define the normal hours of work per day or per week in effect at the time of execution of this Agreement. Nothing contained herein shall be construed as preventing the Employer from restructuring the normal workday or workweek as necessary to promote efficiency or improve services, or from establishing the work schedules of employees. However, nothing in this Section shall relieve the Employer of its duty to bargain the affects of such decisions on employee wages, hours, terms and other conditions of employment. This Article shall be used as the basis for computing overtime for employees who are not exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act and shall not be construed as a guarantee of hours of work per day or per week. Section 15.2 Employees may take one paid fifteen (15) minute break for every four (4) hour block worked. Employees may combine breaks to take up to one (1) sixty (60) minute paid break. Employees may not leave campus on their paid breaks. Section 15.3 Bargaining unit employees who are not exempt from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act will be paid one and one-half times their normal hourly rate for all hours actually worked in excess of forty (40) hours per work week. All overtime shall have prior supervisory approval, except when it is necessary for a nurse to remain on duty to protect patient safety. Only hours actually worked are counted for the purpose of computing an employee's eligibility for overtime pay. There shall be no pyramiding of hours or pay. Section 15.4 The Board serves individuals 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. To meet this need for service to our individuals evening and weekend hours may be required of any bargaining unit employee. The Employer will establish the standard work day as beginning at 6:00 a.m. and ending at 5:59 a.m. and starting and ending times for each shift in each department. Supervisors will establish daily workschedules. Section 15.5 Absent an emergency situation, management will notify the Union in the event management intends to institute a long-term change in the present shift times for nurses. Following notification and upon request by the Union, management will meet with the Union to discuss the reason for the change and possible alternatives.

  • HOURS OF WORK AND OVERTIME 16.01 The normal work week is thirty-seven point five (37.5) hours over five (5) days. Employees shall be entitled to a one half (0.5)) hour unpaid lunch period taken at a time directed by the Employer. Where the work day exceeds nine (9) hours, there shall be a second thirty (30) minute unpaid lunch break taken at a time directed by the Employer. In the event that patient care programs (e.g. flu shot clinic, patient education sessions) are scheduled and require an Employee to work hours other than those listed above, such employee shall be given a minimum of two weeks’ notice prior to the change in shift. It is understood and agreed that the provisions of this Article are intended only to provide a basis for calculating time worked and shall not be considered a guarantee as to the hours of work per day or the days of work per week. Should the Employer wish to make a change to the current schedule, a meeting shall occur with the Union to discuss the implementation of such schedule. 16.02 Authorized hours worked in excess of forty-four hours per week (Sunday to Saturday) shall be paid at the rate of one and one-half (1.5) times the Nurse’s regular hourly rate of pay. The Employee may elect time off in lieu at the rate of time and one-half (1½) her regular rate of pay. The time off will be taken at a time which is mutually convenient to the individual and the Employer. 16.03 Schedules will be posted monthly. 16.04 An Employee who is called in and required to work outside his/her normal scheduled hours, other than those hours immediately prior to or after normal starting or quitting time, shall receive a minimum of four (4) hours pay at straight time or payment for the actual hours worked. It is agreed that there shall be no pyramiding of overtime or any premiums provided for in this agreement.

  • HOURS OF WORK i) Where employees are now working a longer daily tour, the provisions set out in this Article governing the regular hours of work on a daily tour shall be adjusted accordingly. ii) The normal daily extended tour shall be 11.25 consecutive hours in any 24-hour period, exclusive of a total of forty-five (45) minutes of unpaid meal time. For hybrid schedules, there will be scheduled normal daily tours of seven and one-half (7½) hours and 11.25 consecutive hours per day. iii) Employees working an extended tour shall be entitled, subject to the exigencies of resident care, to paid relief periods during the tour of a total of forty-five (45) minutes. For hybrid schedules, there will also be shifts that provide for relief periods in accordance with Article 15.02. iv) Scheduling issues will be resolved at the local level. v) Where the union and the employer have agreed to or agree to an extended daily tour or hybrid schedule that differs from the normal daily extended tour, the proportion of unpaid time to hours of work shall maintain the same ratio as set out in paragraph ii) and iii) of this Article.

  • Work on Holidays An employee who is required to work, or works with prior approval, any part of a holiday shall receive holiday compensatory time for up to eight (8) hours, on an hour for hour basis, for the actual non-overtime hours worked in addition to their regular rate of pay. An employee who works overtime on a holiday shall be compensated in accordance with all applicable pay and overtime provisions. An employee must use holiday compensatory time within one (1) year after having accrued that time.

  • ARTICLE HOURS OF WORK The following provision designating regular hours on a daily tour and regular daily tours over the nursing schedule determined by the Hospital shall not be construed to be a guarantee of the hours of work to be performed on each tour or during each tour schedule. Subject to Article below:

  • Work Week The work week will begin at 12:00 a.m. on Sunday and end at 11:59 p.m. the following Saturday.

  • – HOURS OF WORK & SCHEDULING 15.01 The normal hours of work for an employee are not a guarantee of work per day or per week, or a guarantee of days of work per week. Should the reporting time extend beyond fifteen (15) minutes however, the entire period shall be considered overtime for the purposes of payment. 15.04 Requests for change in posted work schedules must be submitted in writing and co-signed by the employee willing to exchange days off or shifts and are subject to the discretion of the Administrator or her designate. In any event, it is understood that such a change initiated by the employee and approved by the Employer shall not result in overtime compensation or payment or any other claims on the Employer by any employee under the terms of this Agreement. 15.05 Where there is a change to Daylight Savings from Standard Time or vice-versa, an employee who is scheduled and works a full shift shall be paid for a seven and one-half (7½) hour shift rather than the actual hours worked. 15.06 In the event that a meal period is interrupted requiring an employee to attend to a work related problem, then the balance of the unused meal period will be taken within two (2) hours of the interruption. If the employee is unable to reschedule such time, she shall be paid time and one-half (1½) her regular straight time hourly rate for all time worked in excess of her normal daily hours, in accordance with Article 16.01.
